this is me ....eating nothing wile all my friends it shitty cafeteria food working out like a fucken monster losing 10 pounds in one day and makeing weight...then eating :) but this is a sport your never gunna forget...you learn so much ...its not a sport...its a life style
I got killed my freshman year. Almost broke down mentally, and was physically damaged. But I came back for more. And plan on staying with it. I don't know why, but I love it
once youve done an entire season of wrestling theres no going back. it becomes your life. you dont know how or why but you just fall in love with it. god i cant wait till my match tomorrow
my school has this thing called open mats its when people who wrestle or already do come to our mats and we learn moves and wrestle people. one day of that and now i know a new lifestyle...
The blood, sweat, and tears....the the pain....the glory of winning....making a family on the mat....going through 3 hours of hell for 6 minutes on the mat.... I LIVE FOR THIS SHIT!!!!!!
Thank for all the love and support! We just released a new wrestling video for Brute's non-profit organization, REACHES. The video is called "Swim - Brute-adidas Wrestling"
I dont live in America, so we dont have high school wrestling. But I train wrestling (and BJJ) But I really know whats it all about, its a damn hard sport and you need a strong mentality to survive.
ahh my God this got me all teary, this is what wrestling really is like. first time ive seen it captured like this, brings joy to my heart, and its wrestling season right now... im proud.
the worst part about wrestling is that unless your great after highschool or college you never truly can wrestle again its the worst feeling i have had to date, right up there to loosing a match, and that loss being the thing that makes the team loose a meet.
Wrestling isnt about becoming a good athlete. Its about learning the life lessons tht will help u get through the tough times in life. It makes u mentall n physically tough, becoming a great athlete is just the bonus.
what i learned the most out of this sport is the most that its not an easy sport you know my coaches said its never an easy sport. You know you have to work hard mentally&physically to be good at this sport.I mean no matter how much i try best at every practice i always know now that when next practice comes i should work 10 times harder than before, not be scared to be aggresive, and the most Not to walk out of practice cause its showing that U& i dont wanna be there.TRY YOUR HARDEST&DONT QUIT!
This is my life I see my friends eating good stuff and all I can eat is a granola bar and drink water but at the end it's all worth it because pride is for ever
i like this video, except for the eating pizza and the crying after you lose, win or lose like a man, like a true champion, dont cry like a pus, crying doesnt make you a better wrestler, or a better person
People in wrestling dont understand...you have to work your butt of everyday in practice, you have to eat/sleep well all the time, and more...also when your actually wrestling on the mats its alott more tiring and painful than it looks people so dont call wrestling gay if you haven't tried it.
i wrestled my first year in 7th grade and ended up losing every single match. But i practiced a shit ton in the off season and put everything i had into getting stronger and faster asnd more skilled.and i came back 8th grade year going 25 and 4. now im hoping this coming week i can make a huge kickoff to my highschool wrestling career.
@RILEYisFLY I started my freshman year, and it went quite like your 7th grade year did lol. My school is small so i have to wrestle varsity, so its going to be my second varsity year, and 2nd year wrestling
ill never forget my junior year getting hurt and told i cant wrestle anymore, i use to think 11 years wrestling wasted, this video has changed my mind, thank you.
all i want is a starting position on my high school team i can beat everyone expet one kid i have better technique hes just freakishy strong and anything i do i get out musceled :(
WHOEVER DISLIKES THIS VIDEO AINT ABOUT THIS LIFESTYLE AND HAS NEVER GONE THROUGH WHAT THIS VIDEO SHOWS, WRESTLING IS MORE THAN A SPORT IS PROVES WHAT KIND OF PERSON YOU ARE A CHAMP OR A CHUMP
Wrestlers are a crazy breed. No one trains harder, no one commits as much to their sport. While Football, Basketball, Soccer players do what they do with money in mind, wrestlers do what they do purely for the love of competition. When Football players graduate College they have lucrative NFL contracts in mind, when wrestlers graduate College they just have memories. Maybe the odd national team tryouts or MMA career, but most do it just for pride. Wrestling is truly more than a sport.
haha you know why wrestling is so much more..... because its just you and him... and its more than just the match on the line, its your pride... and any and every wrestler has more pride than any football player
I fell in love with wrestling my first season because I found out that it didn't only teach me a sport, it taught my a lifestyle, a hard as hell lifestyle, and it made me a better person. It made me strong, physically, mentally, emotionally. It made me more sympathetic, it made me compassionate, and it made me be happy for the things I have, and ESPECIALLY, the food I have.
@gkdlswm5 Good luck man. I can't wrestle this season season because I'm studying abroad for a year in Spain, but I've found some friends who take tae-kwon-do and I train with them. Their workouts are very difficult as well.
@Dreadlord67 especially the food huh? i saw the rice cake he was eating and it made me smile! it made me remember the bad with the good! Not a bad video thou really captures the culture.
I wrestled for two years and it's hard to lose but with wrestling it wasn't just a sport to me it became a second family because i had a ton of good friends who became brothers. Some people may think they're done with the sport after high school or college. No chance in hell wrestling never leaves you
@kingcrazy510 People tell me the same exact thing I never go to any of the dances or Other sports games all I do is train, train, and train im one of the most anti social person you will ever meet. Also people yell at me all the time saying i starve myself when i really dont i just eat in moderation
@mtrivera12 I don't know exactly 100%, but the gold pins probably represent the amount of opponents you've pinned down during a match. It's an instant win regardless of points if you pin your opponent.
one moment, you're disgusted with yourself. the next, you're on cloud nine and feel like you can take over the world. people think football brings out character, this makes boys men within the first practice.
I lost all my varsity matches except for 1 as a freshman but in the off season i worked hard everyday and came back and went to state but the most important thing i learned if your gonna win is u gotta beat him mentally first if u dont do that ur never gonna beat him physically its the hardest sport in the world that not everyone can do to the people that lose keep workin hard and eventually u will get ur hand raised
every time i lose a match i start crying and my coach is like stop whining. im not whining, im freaking pissed off when i lose to someone i should beat. or to anyone, really.
@ViolentNirvana bro i agree 100% everytime i lose i tear up the shit out of the locker room, non-wrestlers think i have anger problems... they dont get it
been there. got killed in my first 2 matches and i won my third one in over time. best feeling ever knowing that i could do it. once u get the first win under your belt you really start to love the sport.
" Every day my goal was to work so hard that I would have to have someone carry me of the mat." -Dan Gable
He nevr reached that goal no matter how hard he trained he always found the strength to pick himself up and keep moving. think of this when u wrestle at practice and think that you want to quit because ur working so hard. this goal that he nevr reached got him the Gold for the USA and got him the title "the best wrestler to walk on earth."
@fbla77 Is there any other way to greet someone?!? haha Seriously that part out of all them related to me the most now that I am at a point in my life where I don't compete but have kept the friendships from the sport.
A good good wrestler takes a loss like a man. Yeah everyone probably has been through this at least once but there is no reason to go and cry or break stuff. You suck it up like a man because this is a man's sport and train harder and BETTER because you can't change the past, but you can change the future. Also if you throw you're headgear, its stupid because you're gonna have to pick it up.lol Trust me I've been through this and its just useless.Wrestling=my life <3
everyone thought i over reacted to a loss they didnt realize that it mattered to me, my team sucked only 3 of us ever won more than 3 matches and all 3 of us placed in upper state
@RelentlessDrumCovers the song is a rendition of Chopin's Preludes, Op. 28, No. 4 in E Minor. We had our composer do an original electronic/synth recording of it. He's a really talented musician- he did all the ambient sounds in our Clinch Gear pieces too.
my first varcity match i lost and i went into the locker room and punched a whole threw my locker then i trained and trained and went out and won it all wrestling isnt just a sport its life style
Yes we have lol. I know what it feels like to lose a tight match against your most hated rival by 1 or 2 points. I also know what it feels like to get your hand raised against that same punk.
yeah we have, i lost all 14 of my matches, i know how it feels to loose, it made me feel like a failure, but i did improve; my last match, i only lost by one point, cause i go a kid with a move that he never saw or learned before. The move that got me three times, was being stacked, that move is hard to get out of, its harder to get ut of than the cradel.
no feeling like the humiliation after a loss. no feeling like the one after victory; the pride, the sense that youve proven to yourself that you have what it takes...to win.

You suck it up like a man because this is a man's sport and train harder and BETTER because you can't change the past, but you can change the future. Also if you throw you're headgear, its stupid because you're gonna have to pick it up.lol Trust me I've been through this and its just useless.Wrestling=my life <3

What is the name of the song used in the video?
RelentlessDrumCovers 8 months ago
@RelentlessDrumCovers the song is a rendition of Chopin's Preludes, Op. 28, No. 4 in E Minor. We had our composer do an original electronic/synth recording of it. He's a really talented musician- he did all the ambient sounds in our Clinch Gear pieces too.

This is an epic video and should give all wrestlers a greater sense of pride in the sport.
