Its DnB, DnB NOT Dubstep. DnB/Jungle was around 18 years before Dubstep reached the mainstream. The tempo is usually 170-175bpm, Dubstep is about 140bpm with half time beats so its actually about 70bpm, a huge difference! Fucking learn.

@mecdnb Well put. Dubstep is pretty awesome though :D It does feel like half time, or 2/4, with the way its beat pattern works (emphasis on beats one and three). Really it is in 4/4 so 140 bpm is where dubstep's typical tempo lies :D

@Jeffodious Cheers mate. Don't get me wrong I absolutely love dubstep, more so than dnb at the moment. It just pisses me off that people cant seem to grasp the concept of tempo differences and recognise what dnb is. its just one of those things along with the people that call all types of dance music techno. I liked the old dubstep but the recent mainstream success is significantly due to the fact that dnb producers began making dubstep and brought this sound with them.
