Really? People are concerned about a Chinese reference in this cartoon? In the era in which this was done, China was considered on the other side of the world... and a very common statement was that if you dug deep enough, "you could dig all the way to China." The reference had nothing to do with politics... just overly simplified geography.

you know what, Disney itself hates these cartoon. When Eisner was still the president and they sold all of hand-drawn animation tools and desks because they thought only 3D/CG was worth it, the executives at disney said that they were focusing on new cartoons (like Doug and Recession and Kim Possible) because the old ones like Donald, Mickey, Goofy, Pluto, Daisy, Hewey Dewey and Louie were dislikable and ugly and unfunny! exactly, it can be observe in the music too... the music is more descriptive like it is trying to reproduce noises and feelings compared to today soundtracks that are just melodic poignant accompaniments to the scenes.

like old comendy there's a sense of calm and slow progression to the end, maybe nowadays it would be considered "too slow" considering the fast pace (often excessive) of cartoons like Kung Fu Panda or Ice Age or the disney ones like Phineas and Ferb and Mouseworks

Nice cartoon, but actually some people in the comments are getting the applecore line wrong. Yeah, I know it doesn't help that neither Chip and Dale, nor Donald are exactly clear speakers so I understand the confusion, but this is based on a silly old children's rhyme/playground game. The word said in response to "applecore" is "Baltimore" as in Baltimore, Maryland.
