OHH! cream carpets!! that's just asking for murder lol It looks like the Dyson city is about as powerful as my dc14........ now that's saying something Things are getting smaller and smaller every day......
I have come across people claiming this model is a bit flimsy, can you comment on the build quality please? I am looking to buy this or DC22 not able to make my mind up.. Also is there any difference between the wood and wool and the new re branded multi floor? looking forward to your reply, Thanks
@wickedjigs All Dysons, including DC26, are rigorously tested during development, and backed with a 5 year warranty. I have no durability concerns with this model. Please keep in mind how tiny this cleaner is - really for the very smallest homes and apartments. DC22 is 1/3rd larger. There's no difference between the 'Wood + Wool' and 'Multi Floor' models - Dyson just decided to simplify the nametags they use for their models.
Hope this helps - let me know if you have any more questions!
im going to be honest with you. This would of been much better if you had atleast thrown some random stuff on the floor like fruit loops, raw rice grains, or anything just to show the suction power, rather than you cleaning your carpet....
@caka23 This particular video is an overall demonstration of the cleaner and it's features, NOT a pick-up demo. Pick-up demos are fun, but they don't really show you how thoroughly or how consistently a vac will clean. After all, most of us don't have fruit-loops and rice in our carpets - we have dust. And you'll find dust even in a carpet which looks clean on the surface.
@roombafan56001 The dual-cavity FlatOut head is designed to optimise the available suction power for excellent pick-up from both hard floors and carpets. UK consumer organisation Which? Magazine, who subject vacuum cleaners to performance testing, gave the DC26 four out of five stars for carpet cleaning, and five out of five stars for it's performance on laminate.
@vintagehoover Now is the Dyson DC26 "City" only sold in the UK, because I've never seen this before online, or in-store and never heard of it calla "City" All we have is DC 22, 23 Motorhead, Turbinehead.
@Webkinz522 I'm assuming you're based in America? It hasn't been launched in the US yet, but I'm reliably informed it should be coming to the US market shortly.
I looked at this vacuum in the store today. It's pretty damn impressive but I'm having hard time finding out how much suction power it has. Even though I tried to turn it on in the store there was nothing I could try to vacuum!!! How well does it pick up small peaces as well as large peaces and dust? The main brush comes without the power spinner, does that effect the lift from the carpet?
@akulax2 The suction is surprisingly strong for such a tiny cleaner!
The Dual-Cavity FlatOut head copes well with dust and debris - but please remember is is a compact model, designed for the smallest of homes, and isn't really intended for picking up big pieces of DIY debris, etc!
I have the DC22 which is small already.. but that DC26 is..... SMALLER! my gosh... what's unbelievable is it has pretty much the same airwatts as mine...
@compactc9 Yeah - it's so funny to see when you line the DC26, DC22 and DC23 in a row; the 26 just looks impossibly small! It's barely bigger than the DC30/31 handhelds.
Have a look at my video entitled 'Dyson design-engineer introduces new DC26 City'. Blair, one of the Dyson engineers, shows where the filters are on the machine during his presentation.
Hope this helps - let me know if you have trouble finding the video!
Hey great - never seen a video vacuum review before! Anyone have a view on what it feels like on wood and stone floors? Some vacuums can be a bit scratchy/scrapey in my experience...
Aside from carpeting, I've used the cleaner on laminate, lino and tile flooring so far, and it seems fine on those!
You might like to have a look at Dyson's special hard floor tool, though, which might be closer to what you need. It costs about £20, and can be ordered from their website. I have one and it's really good! Wide, with soft bristles so it won't scratch, and an extra channel in front so it won't push debris along the floor!
just got one today

Why would dyson(even thought the City is small) not give a turbinehead with it?

@vintagehoover Thanks. I just wondered if it is able to get the stuff deep down, but It seems to work for you!
roombafan56001 1 year ago
Does that one have a turbine head attachment?
roombafan56001 1 year ago
@roombafan56001 It doesn't come with one as standard, but you can purchase the Mini Turbinehead separately, which will work with this cleaner.

@The12345hassanali1
Hoover is a brand. This is a Dyson vacuum cleaner.
Yes, the dual-cavity FlatOut tool is supplied with the DC26.

is that dyson city good for cars

@welshdumbass Yeah, it's great for doing cars - plenty of power, but compact enough to sit tidily and securely on the seat, or in the footwell!

can u get a floor turbobrush for it?
vacboi98 2 years ago
This model isn't supplied with one, but the DC22 Animal Clean Air Turbinehead does seem to work ok with it.
The Mini Turbinehead also works really well with the DC26 - great for pet hair, stairs, etc!
vintagehoover 2 years ago
cool im gonna so buy one
vacboi98 2 years ago
by that did you mean the brushes spin fast or do they just about spin
vacboi98 2 years ago
The spin fast enough to clean with, but not quite was fast as on the DC22.
