I hear these things can get between 26 to 32 MPG on the highway if you baby it and go the speed limit with the highest rear end ratio installed...... would you say this is accurate?

@partyman6666 Depends on a few things. I have a 2011 my self and on a level highway going about 75 and 4 ppl on board i get about 17-25 MPG. If ur going a little slower or downhill then ull be pushing 40. I higly suggest a super duty! I love mine and i used ot be a dodge guy until i drove a superduty.

@svt89 Well my truck is the short bed so it has a smaller gas tank so i can only go about 400-500 miles on a tank however u can buy an after market titan fuel tank and u can get about 600-700 miles on that. i htink its fairy worth it if ur doing alot of highway driving or if u live out of town but if u live in city area like me 400 miles on a tank is totaly fine for me. Hope i helped. And once again ford is an awesome truck! :) c ya

@josh1303 Brake it as in ruin the engine? No, not all. You're alot better off to drive a diesel even if u hardly tow because of the MPG. I tow maybe 10 times a year at most and i never had a problem with my Ford. Dodge on the other hand, they say that " you have to work it hard and make it tow all the time" because if u dont the exhaust and turbo will clog up. My suggestion is to get a Ford or a Chevy. I traded in my Dodge for my Ford and i love the Ford! Hope this helped. :)

So what, do you hammer it all time time. Diesels are expenses to fix and maintain. I heard these new ford diesels only get mid teens on MPG.

@josh1303 Well, diesels are expensive to buy, but thats about it. They're designed not to break and maintenance consists of oil changes oil filter changes and air filter changes. Thats more or less it. If u get a ford ur also gonna need to fill the 10 gallon DEF tank up at the oil changes. The super duty actually gets mid to upper teens and thats in the city. On the highway ull be in the 20s for sure. The draw back for diesels is they're expensive to buy, other then that its all advantages.

Diesel engines are excellent; they get better mileage, last longer, and quite frankly sound much cooler than gasoline engines. It would be great if there were more diesel vehicles here in the US, but because diesel fuel is more expensive than gasoline per gallon, diesel cars definitely wouldn't sell as well as they do in Europe, where diesel is cheaper.

Can you not get this in a Manual? If not, a diesel truck, without a Manual = Fail. I like the Ford, but still doesn't compare to a Cummins with a 6 speed manual.

The Coal car you were talking about in Top Gear was not fully loaded, it wasn't even loaded at all, also the Coal car was on wheels, Any truck could pull that.
