Only on higher than 1920x1080 6970 starts to be better cause 570 runs out of memory. GTX 570 overclocks much better also, when both are overclocked 570 wins because it has more headroom for overclock. For higher res than 1920x1080 6970 is better causes it has 2GB mem. Both are very good cards.

@GeakZorNL And it's completely misleading to say 6970 is almost as good as 580. Not its not, and that's why 580 is so expensive. ATi couldn't challenge Nvidia on the single GPU side this time, but Nvidia faced heat problems in dual gpu side and had to underclock a lot those 2 580 chips in 590. Which lead at the end 6990 being better. With proper cooling 590 will be faster, but if you're using stock cooling 6990 is better, even though its fan is annoying its able to keep it cooler.

My last Nvidia card was a 9800GTX+ (wasn't 55nm, just 65nm, had GTX+ clocks tho... I upgraded to a Radeon HD4890, because my two favorite games were DX10.1. I do miss Nvidia Physx but it's not really worth having unless you have a very powerful Gpu, x2 Gpu or 2 Gpu's with one dedicated to Physx. It's just not reasonable to get playable frame rates with Physx enabled on even the higher end cards.
The 4890 is incredible in comparison, holds up to the GTX 275/280, and OC'd to the GTX285.
Hum, for me is ATI. Always ATI owns HDMI, NVIDIA only now. And ATI launches 40nm cards first. I know that G300/400 a totally failure, it consumes more than HD5XXX cards and ATI better for filters etc.
