At the time, the Weinsteins were begging for another 3D family movie, so he probably could have sold them anything. Besides, a lot of the things in the movie were his son's ideas, so I think he made it more for him and for fun than for high art.

@godadameve One reason his films are made relatively cheap so it translates into a profit. Lets say his movie only makes 6 million. (Hollywoods spends that one on stars salary)but since it may only cost 3 million to make. That's a 3 million dollar profit. If you can do that consistently, Hollywood will finance any script. They'll finance a script about talking feces if it will make a profit.

Robert has been such an inspiration to me.  Digital photography, editing, everything. All I'm upset with him lately is his affair with Rose McGowen. He had a great family, but now it looks like he's blown that part of his life. Sorry. Otherwise, he's very inspirational.
