@Simonetto007 So do I, having tried out the GBA version. That intro is insulting, considering that it isn't even the original opening. If they were going to make the thing, the least they could have done was make a non-vocal version of "Yume wa Owarenai" if they couldn't fit it on the GBA cartridge.

This is probably the best RPG released for the SNES. It leads you to believe that you beat it, only to discover that you only beat the first half of the game. Also is it my bad memory, or was this boss battle different in the SNES version?

Well, my favorite RPG for the SNES (and of all time) is actually FF 2 / 4. I really like FF 3 / 6 too, and Chrono Trigger as well, but this game was just so deep.

The party was small, meaning it kept the story focused instead of giving you extra characters that you wouldn't really get to use as much. It also had TONS of bonus content, and it was a long game. I'm not saying it's good because it was long, I'm saying it was actually a long game that I enjoyed playing through.

That's what a lot of people did. They use an emulator, Zsnes, and you can download Phantasia's ROM off coolrom (dot) com and it's pre-patched so the text is all translated.

It's not just the UK, in NA all we got was the GBA version too. It's really mostly Namco-Bandai's fault, but let's be thankful they're porting Tales of Graces F.

@k3v1nh Mithos looks like Dhaos. The PS1 version (where 'Plume Dhaos' first appeared) is obviously older than Symphonia, and even the GBA version came out a little before Symphonia in Japan.

@rotciv1492 That was their way of trying to pay tribute to the fact that Tales of Symphonia and Tales of Phantasia are the only ones out of the primary Tales games that take place on the same world (albeit 4 millenia apart from each other)

Graphically speaking, the game has improvements compared to the SNES version, characters are better looking somehow...........but those voices, God they suck!!!! Seems they casted lazy people, who just don't have any feeling to it, they sound like they HAD to do the voices, not like they really WANTED to do them. Worst dub ever!

Go play the PSX version of this game. Theres 2 english translations for the PSX version. Avoid this crappy port! Even the original SNES version was way better than this shitty port.

I did my combo all the time:

1. either a jumping slash/thrust or two regular strikes

2. tiger blade

3. lightning tiger blast

4. Tiger combo blast

5. repeat from step 3.

Boo, archer and claus is overrated. Try Cress-Mint-Suzu-Chester. It's always more more pounding on the boss than casting spells -.-. I love playing Chester btw ^^, best playable character in the whole game, next to Cress/Suzu.

I think the eng version of this must have had the worst voice cast EVER. I mean, they are just so awful that you have to turn them off. There are eng dubs that are great, don't get me wrong. This makes me wanna puke. I bought it cause that's the only eng ver there is. But now that I'm older I do fine with a Japanese one.

Oh man, this game is awesome, but it's just ridiculous how much you can cheese the late game bosses to death with Mystic Symbols, powerful spells and summons, and an ample supply of miracle/pineapple gels, and/or their lower-level counterparts (but who can't afford Rune Bottles at that point in the game?)

Honestly, this was so half-assed, I can't see anyone being satisfied with it. There is a large market for this game, so the PSP version would probably fare well in North America.

i remember this final battle. cress was like lvl 128 and claus 62 and i kept spamming a summon which won the thing... cress was just using like regular attacks xD
