Hi John, I find that I have less problem with dust by using the abrasive paper. It is a fine sandpaper called Fisher 400 Art paper and has such a good tooth that the particles do not fall off. Having said that I always use a double mount so that there is a gap between the glass and the surface of the painting.
When you have your work framed, do you leave a void behind the mount, to catch any falling pigment, rather than it falling between mount and glass? I just wondered if I was on my own in this
Hi Thanks for comments. I don't use fixative, because it dulls the colours. By using sandpaper to paint on, smudging is less of a problem. The surface has such a lot of tooth. To store before framing, I place the painting between folded newspaper. I Keep them in a drawer to avoid lateral movement. (cont'd)
exelent work, thank u Jenny!!!!
