My very first concept album was Dark Side of the Moon. I remember buying Tribute on cassette when it came out. I wore out the tape I played it so much. The outro of Tonight, to me, is Randy saying goodbye.
You people can all argue what he studied, & genres, but his Mom, Delores Rhoads still has a music school called Musonia School Of Music, North Hollywood, California & is still open & he taught there & his Mom taught as well. Randy studied all forms of music, I know this 'Cuz I know his Bro Kelly (Way cool & a great Musician) & several other people that taught there! Generes meld, but RR studied everything & loved music & concentrated on classical music. This was probably recorded @ Musonia. FYI

Randy and Hendrix? Apples and oranges my friends. Different times and different contexts of what made a guitarist great. Randy had a great technical ability and feel(soul) for heavy metal. hendrix was a innovater thats why he is basicly a legend. yes every legend has there own kind of style. if were comparing randy had better ability than hendrix. people can say hendrix is better all they want but hendrix was from like the 60's and randy was from the 70's and 80's. guitar has change over the years and thats because of people like hendrix. this is about the ability to play the guitar. randy just knew more about music and had more knowledge.

Also, Randy really had a handle on the blues. I love his bends, pinch harmonics -- everything the man did. He's a fucking genius! Stevie Ray Vaughn is the only other white person I know of who had a handle on the blues.
I have an old lesson on a terrible cassette..you can hear it but this much better...this was at his family's school probably, right? Would you make me a CD of some of these? I'll work out a fair price with you.

I want to hear them too!!! Anything that anyone has of Randy, I want to see or hear. I love this stuff. Its like one of my guitar lessons, except my teacher isn't as great as Randy. If Randy was my guitar teacher, I doubt I'd be able to focus. Not only was he amazingly HOT, but I'd be all slack jawed, like, "That was Amazing!" And he'd tell me to play it, I'd be like "Come again?" haha. Such a beyond words guitarist. I love him. <3

This is dumb not even video, why is it on you tube. Crappy audio, take this crap off. Both Randy and eddy are over rated. They are good not great. All they do is tapping, nothing else. You want to hear some real soloing. Listen to some Hendrix or Jimmy page. That is how you play the guitar.
There are 31342425235+ "audio only" vids on youtube. I think audio quality is not bad for a ~30year old casette recording. Eddy does a lot of tapping, Randy didn't use more tapping than any other professional guitarist. Some real soloing? Check out "Revelation Mother Earth". Hendrix IS overrated , too... what,are you talking randy? you can't be serious. he is one of the most talented guitarists EVE. much more so than jimi hendrix. he completly changed the face of every aspect of the guitar, and he played many styles including neo-classical. he only played with ozzy for two and a half years before he died, and from that time he has tons of costom guitars, tribute albums, and posters and everything. he is much more talented than anyone else in the industry today.

No offence to anyone ( I love Hendrix), but Randy was a lot better guitarist in everyway than Hendrix.

hendrix was a innovater thats why he is basicly a legend. yes every legend has there own kind of style. if were comparing randy had better ability than hendrix. people can say hendrix is better all they want but hendrix was from like the 60's and randy was from the 70's and 80's. guitar has change over the years and thats because of people like hendrix. this is about the ability to play the guitar. randy just knew more about music and had more knowledge.

You guys need to all stop saying one guitarist is better than they other Yes there are alot of guitarist out there that i would consider legends like Hendrix,Dimebag Darrell,Randy Rhoads,Angus Young,Slash,EVH, and alot more and iv came to the conclusion that i don't have one main guitar idol i just have a group of favorites randy rhoads said that before and it makes sense every guitar legend is specail in there on way they may not all play the same or as fast but they are all unique

Also, Randy really had a handle on the blues. I love his bends, pinch harmonics -- everything the man did. He's a fucking genius! Stevie Ray Vaughn is the only other white person I know of who had a handle on the blues.

LOL, sounds like my old guitar lessons I had back in high school. He's basically telling the dude, don't bend the notes because you're tone deaf and you suck at knowing when to stop the bend.

I want to hear them too!!! Anything that anyone has of Randy, I want to see or hear. I love this stuff. Its like one of my guitar lessons, except my teacher isn't as great as Randy. If Randy was my guitar teacher, I doubt I'd be able to focus. Not only was he amazingly HOT, but I'd be all slack jawed, like, "That was Amazing!" And he'd tell me to play it, I'd be like "Come again?" haha. Such a beyond words guitarist. I love him. <3

This is dumb not even video, why is it on you tube. Crappy audio, take this crap off. Both Randy and eddy are over rated. They are good not great. All they do is tapping, nothing else. You want to hear some real soloing. Listen to some Hendrix or Jimmy page. That is how you play the guitar.

There are 31342425235+ "audio only" vids on youtube. I think audio quality is not bad for a ~30year old casette recording. Eddy does a lot of tapping, Randy didn't use more tapping than any other professional guitarist. Some real soloing? Check out "Revelation Mother Earth". Hendrix IS overrated , too... theres no doubts that jimmy page and jimmy hendrix are amazing ./. jimmy page is one of the main reasons i ever picked up a guitar but truth be told he''s not as skilled as andy rhoads .. rhoads can play much more difficult solos maybe without jimmy's level of soul but none the less skill is skill

man, he was the best guitar player ever....just imagine if he was still alive....he would be owning everyone now.....ive been reading about him in my Guitar Legends Mag that focuses on him......he was totally amazing.

what,are you talking randy? you can't be serious. he is one of the most talented guitarists EVE. much more so than jimi hendrix. he completly changed the face of every aspect of the guitar, and he played many styles including neo-classical. he only played with ozzy for two and a half years before he died, and from that time he has tons of costom guitars, tribute albums, and posters and everything. he is much more talented than anyone else in the industry today.

I thought Michelangelo was a better painter then Raphael. Michelangelo did some amazing stuff that I thought was better then Raphael's.
You can compare guitarist if they play the same Genre, and no, music is not about getting laid, no matter how fun that is. Its about MUSIC!

that's bullshit, you gotta stop sayin' hendrx was the best like if you wanted to follow the overall opinion, Randy moves me more than hendrix so i prefer him, and then , all hendrix songs are not masterpieces...But my favourite guitarists are also slash and jimmy page, who sort of sucks technically.
