@yrureadingthisname Intellectual property law, my friend. Artists are getting PAID, otherwise they would easily win a lawsuit. Ford would approach the musician(s) and ask for the rights to their music. Two sides would work out a deal that both would find acceptable in terms of money for the right to use the song in one of their commercials. Many times, the fee arrangement is based on how often the commercial "airs." You get the point by now....

@jicudi Yeah man I love the minimalist approach to songwriting. The way they develop the main melody and bring it through different feels of rhythm and atmosphere is quit stunning. The subtle counter melodies and string lines also help to evoke, at least for my self, a strong emotional connection. Another great example of this style of song writing is a song called Melody 3 by Tera Melos.

I don't know why, but everytime I hear this song (on the Ford commercial) I just start dancing/valsing in the living room.. My family & friends look at me with a "uhh.. what the hell is she doing?" face.. Maybe it's weird but I really like the song! :D
