McLellan should have stayed at middleweight. Going against a powerful boxer like Benn was always going to be a tall order, especially as it appears he wasnt fully prepared and with problems behind the scenes with his trainer. Terrible what happened to McLelland as a result of this fight, and Benn, who apparently suffered from terrible guilt for a long time.

this was a typical Benn fight, everyone who follows boxing knows Benn was a good fighter who loved to go to war, the Yank on the other hand had plenty of 1st round KO's on his record but was not a fighter who could go the distance. I have respect for both men but McCellan underestimated Benn and paid a severe price
