i always think they survive longer if u breed them urself, i guess they don't get such a shock moving from breeding tank to comunity tank as to moving from shop to comunity tank. well done for breeding those, nice bunch of fish. did you have any that were deformed?
you probably didn't have any deformed ones then. usually some will survive. they were a good breeding pair in that case, its a shame they died. i've never bred mine, do they usually die right after spawning?
I gather the Colombians aren't predatory to their own offspring, and the tank is sufficiently large (dirty) that there is enough for them to eat while small - be it micro organisms or food debris. :)
wow, very beautiful. So cool that u bread the Columbians. How does your tank remain liveable without doing any tank changes? I'm not sure how overflow works.
It's setup to be an "almost complete" ecosystem. By not over feeding I'm able to maintain a nice balance, keep the plants growing, and have no algae problems. Plants and filters clean the water, fish dirty it up again. :)
The overflow just removes debris from the water surface - google "fishtank overflow" or "aquarium sump" or "aquarium wet/dry filters" and you'll get some stuff to read about.
u could go into business!

If any where they didn't survive long enough to be seen here. I didn't cull anything myself, but I didn't exactly baby anything either.
