  • gwen stefanis killing me... shes making awesome clothes for only kids... im a kid at heart too yah kno... i wanna wear harajuku lovers clothes...

  • I absolutely love this clothing line!! I've just took notice of it over christmas while shopping in target of course, and it's the cutest line ever! Everytime my daughter has the clothes on she gets plenty of compliments. We are addicted now Lol! Thanks Gwen for bringing it to America and putting your own spin it! Muah! Much love from Georgia.

  • Love Gwen Stefani and her clothing line!!!

  • I GOT THIS. OMGOMGGOMGOGM ALL OF IT. THEY

HAVE A NEW ONE ITS CAPTIIN STYLE.

  • i love this collection i got a super cute blazer from here

  • I have one of the jackets :) I'm going to get more

  • is that Gwen Stefani????

  • thumbs up if you came here just to see the blonde.....

  • makes me wish I had kids TT

  • Sorry to the people who like this clothes but their not the real kind of fashion that people wear in japan. Harajuku is a place in japan, harajuku bridge and it is a category of fashion with a bunch of different styles within it :) like gyaru, visual kei, decora. Just saying I do so much research on japan its crazy and i dress decora, fairy kei, gyaru, oshare kei! :3

  • @VeronicaRLake True, but kids can't really wear the real harajuku cloths. It's too much for them and it would be too exspensive for Target. I suppose this is just the toned down American kid version. :3

  • @MusingsOfAZombie I'm only 12 and I believe really anyone can dress japanese fashion with just using the clothes from a normal wardrobe :) So I really don't think that they have to go and spend money on clothes that are mostly the same as the stuff in their closets.

But you made a very good point when you said they can't wear the real thing! :)

  • @VeronicaRLake I love too dress fairy kei too! But everyone at scool looks at me like im crazy. Oh, and i'm only 11 :P

But, I still love this clothing line. I think they are pretty, but it is TOTALLY not the real thing

  • @TheKawaiiKupcake I know how you feel! I'm homeschooled but still when I go to like the mall or something I get stared at like I'm crazy but I learned to deal with it! You could use the stuff from the clothing line to make a outfit but they just make it so normal... Not like crazy and amazing like Japanese people do it..... sadly. T_T So please don't think that I'm hating on it. :) i just love japan soooo much and I want people to know the real style of Japan! XD

  • It's not HAIRajuku.... lol

  • lolUM.

  • Japanese people don't pronounce English wrong, they put all foreign words into their katakana alphabet and say it to their way. For any foreign words, there is no right or wrong way to say or spell. This commercial is so cute x3!

  • man i wish i was 6!

  • I want to see her head popped off like a Lego and see John Goodman shit down her neck while the annoying japanese girls dance around her. That's how annoying she is.

  • I want to start trolling the people here so bad, but I'll keep it in and post this stupid comment instead

  • Must...BUY >:D Thank you Gwen...& I kinda like what they did to her Harajuku song ~

  • no time to wait for anime stuff in target. :3

  • So this is only for kids? I'm so sad :'(

  • i thought this was a commercial for a target opening up in tokyo -_-

  • omg these comments....-___-

  • This remix is sooooo good, she should release a remix ep with some b-sides, I need more of her solo songs in my life.

  • @kingofallwhites yessssss and I love it.

  • @kingofallwhites Hey,it's you! I really liked your comment on the born this way video! Good to see that you're coming out of the closet because of Gaga. Shine on little monster :)

  • I love Harajuku. It's such an awesome place to go to! People dress so cute over there!!

  • So unfair that the kids get it >:[ There needs to be an adult/teen line for this! We want to dress kawaii too! <3

  • WOW LISTEN TOO THESE STUPID PEOPLE TALK SO DEEPLY ABOUT A COMMERCIAL. GET A FRIKIN' LIFE.

  • This is cute. She need to make one in Juniors lol I want some.

  • It's not fair, all the cool clothes are for kids.....I bet little kids know nothing about Harajuku!! HUMPH *cries in corner*

  • @NatsuNyappy haha ikr they need it to be in juniors/teens

  • @NatsuNyappy I DO!!!

  • so this clothes line is for kids...... well, im SSSOOO glad that im petite! *grabs car keys* TO TARGET!!!

  • @lilacs91, so true!

  • Now you can dress your five year old just like Kurt Hummel!

  • hairuhjuku... hahhaha

  • As if being manga-tized and attacked by giant monsters wasn't bad enough...

  • I think this commercial is amazing. I could care less if the words were pronounced correctly or not. Gwen is doing what she likes and she likes fashion inspired by a part of Harajuku style. She isn't saying Japan is crazy like this or that all of Japan dress like this. She was inspired by a part of Japanese culture and she's putting her own spin on it. Do what you love right? By the way, this song is a remix of "Harajuku Girls" from her Sweet Escape album.

  • @magicalDANI13 My mistake it's from her L.A.M.B album.

  • This is the most embarrassing commercial I've ever seen. It's not just the mispronunciation of the name "Harajuku", it's also basically stereotyping Tokyo (and Japan) in general. This is so bad… Gwen, have you ever been to Japan in your life? If you have, maybe you need to go back there to refresh your memory. It's not all about video games & anime. And please, stop over-using the word "kawaii" like it's some super trend. It's not, and you're not being cute.

  • @ranmachick Haha, I loved that comment xD *thumbs up*

  • @ranmachick

    YES THANK YOU

  • I think Americans would rather eat up the bizarre misconceptions because they think it's 'unique.' Sometimes I feel we Americans make Japanese people out to be inhuman. I'm Asian btw.

To the people annoyed by the mispronunciation: THERE'S NO TARGET IN JAPAN. THEREFORE THEY'RE NOT BROADCASTING THIS OVER THERE. SO WHO GIVES A SHIT.

  • @jenttn1121 It's not whether Japanese people will see this commercial or not. It's more like... we don't want other Americans to get the wrong idea about Japan & its culture. I know this is only ONE COMMERCIAL, but it's not cool when people in general give others a free pass at making stereotypical comments or displaying somewhat incorrect information even when it seems harmless.

I'm ALSO Asian BTW... & I have family from Japan.

  • @ranmachick dolphin killer!

  • i think this is the CUTEST commercial in the world mispronunciations and japanese stereotypes aside ^^

  • o.e Isn't Gwen Stefani like 40? The power of makeup, ladies and gentlemen.

  • I love harajuku fashion but exploiting it as a brand totally ruins it... its supposed to be original and often its DIY and handmade stuff. I like Gwen Stefani but I dont like this... :/

  • Hey japanese people!

How does it feel to have one minor part of your culture exploited into representing you all as a whole for profit?

Congradulations, now you know what its like to be black. (at least a little, lol)

  • @jkillah999 I freaking love your comment & I agree!!

  • this...is ...retarded...now the posers come onto the scene.

  • I was watching a vlog about an iMac and then I saw this? >.<

  • cute!

  • LOL @ all the 'pronounciation' experts. If you want to get technical, the 'r' in the 'ra' is pronounced somewhere between 'r' and 'l' with a tendency to sound like a soft 'd' sound. Why isn't no one bitching about that? Give it a rest!

  • thumbs up if you thought the star (and maybe a few other things) were from Mario(;

  • oh yeah!! 0:09 looks like shibuya 109!

  • I'm jealous that it's only for little kids. The have a super-cute ruffled JSK in plaid, but it's waaaay too short for me. (It looks pretty short of the kids too actually). Reminds me a little of some of the things Putumayo puts out only a lot less expensive.

  • now harajuku has become an american keyword..

  • how the fudge did i get here? I was watching a BOTDF video . c:

  • I'm obsessed at harajuku!

  • i'm a teenager and i grew up in Japan all through my childhood. the commercial itself isn't really offensive as much as just a bit stereotypical. and it would've made them look much better if they'd pronounced harajuku right. looks like a cute collection though!

  • Who cares? I care. Arrogance that just flips off the mispronouncing of words from other cultures. It's important. Nice ad by the way... lets get it right and be respectful.

  • what happen to people making their own style?.....and for the record nobody in japan get their clothes at target. they come up with their own style from all the diffrent store.

  • EW

  • @Momoko4ever1 "EW" What?

  • After seeing it again...

Actually, according to this video Japan is about children, clothing, flowers and food. (Oh, and don't forget Target. ^_~)

  • icringe

  • grr is it only for kids?

  • Yes the little girl pronounce Harajuku wrong who cares?? How bout those CLOTHES huh?? Beyond adorable and def unique. My kids are gonna be FRESH...when i get around to having some.lol That's what nieces and nephews are for i guess XD

  • To all the people complaining about the mispronunciation of the word Harajuku...Do you think Japanese people can pronounce English words correctly? Go watch a Japanese commercial where they speak a few English words. Their pronunciation of any English word is far worse than how they pronounce Harajuku in this video.

  • @lilacs91 ROFLMAO

  • Thanks, Gwen Stefani. You've made us whites look like idiots v_v

  • @OokiHana801 i'm sorry that u can't rock the clothes, or other words, that u look like an idiot. Don't justify all whites will look like an idiot if you're the only one.

  • @newginafets2009 I did mean the clothes. okokokok. I actually think they're cute. But the fact that there wasn't a single word pronounced correctly, and everything was Japanese-techno stereotyped style, if a Japanese person were to see this they would think we are stereotyping them. Which isn't so cool.

  • @OokiHana801 You have a point. However, most American ads I see these days use FX similar to this. It may be that the 8 bit is a little forced? I'm not sure it's truly abusing any cultural stereotypes. It clearly was just some random girl saying the lines and I agree it wouldn't be too hard to have a Japanese-American girl say them.

  • @thelovelyratkitten Exactly! :O

  • @thelovelyratkitten Why does it have to be an American of Japanese descent? Can't a properly-trained White girl do it just as well? Or Black? Or Hispanic? It's not that the voiceover wasn't Japanese, it's that she wasn't trained properly, nor apparently were the directors all that knowledgeable in respect to Japanese pronunciation.

  • @SWalkerTTU Because it would be easier to find someone of Japanese descent that speaks a little Japanese? Although a Spanish accent is similar to a Japanese one in that it's softer, so that would work alright.

I thought of going into more detail but my YouTube comment was already very low on characters. 以上です ;-)

  • @OokiHana801 so what do you suggest for them to make a Japan-themed ad? Like sakura flower falling from the trees? or Geisha? or? and for Japanese is it bad if people stereotype Japan as video games/techno thingy? i'm just wondering what's bad about it.

  • whats the song called?

  • i already got the HJ headphones !!!!! ahh they are so cute

  • @BloodRoseChichi23 try yesstyle.com it's like a site where u can order clothes from asia. i saw a few hoodies with ears on there before.

  • I saw about 3 outfits i liked, but its for kids no fair!!

i've been wanting a panda hoodie for soooo long and i mean with the ears like the little girl in the video!!!!does anyone know where i could get one in buffalo new york?

  • @BloodRoseChichi23 Try Target. LOL!

  • They need to make teen versions of those outfits cuz I want all of them and obviously I can't fit any of them!!! Not fair Gwen!

  • i want...EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this sounds like a game of Super Mario Bros.

  • Oh this is creepy

  • When are the boy cloths coming out?????

  • Cutee.

  • I love this at 0:5

when the - dah girl starts jumpijng up

i have that skirt and jacket i luv it :) and i have the red G shirt

  • i want the polar bear hoodie ^^

  • After all this, they still can't pronounce 'Harajuku' correctly.

  • i was just watching some 2ne1 videos.. how did i end up here?

  • I just wanted to say this even though we all have different opinions:

Gwen Stefani is deserving of her role as a fashion icon and an icon as a person. She is accepting of other cultures, not afraid to express her TRUE self, an upbeat and positive person, a completely unique and talented musician, and naturally beautiful inside and out! OH, and by the way Asia has WAY better fashion than Americans, so thanks Gwen for exposing us to it. :D

  • hmmm maybe just maybe ill fit into the largest size LOL

  • Hamburgers..thats all I really saw. .-.

  • T-T They pronounced Harajuku wrong.. xD Not like it matters though, it just kinda urks me... D:<

  • this doesnt really seem like anything ive seen in fashion from Harajuku...and whats with the hamburgers? O,o

  • Thumbs up if the word harajuku reminds you of nicki minaj

  • ugh i wish they had this line for teenagers ( including boys)

  • OBJECTION. You could tell that is mostly American clothing because it has a cheeseburger in it. Point taken.

  • Ummm as much as I like KPOP i was brought here through JRock...

  • I was wondering what all the Harajuki Mini stuff was... now it's all making sense...

  • :D that was awesome!!

  • as much as I really do like these clothes, this commercial makes me a little embarassed to be white: Japan is not completely about video games and big cities, and for the LOVE of GOD, it's HAH-rajuku, not HAY-ra. since it's officially written in the katakana that way, pronounce it right Gwen or you make us look like ignorant americans.

  • @talesgirl08 video games and big cities will make an attractive commercial that will appeal to american audiences, especially children.Gwen isn't making Americans look ignorant at all. lighten up will ya? I love Japan and Japanese culture. I'm in my third year of japanese in high school and I'm going to major in international business so believe me, I'm all into j-pop and the awesomeness of japan, but seriously, gwen is doing no harm here. yeah she could say it right, but you're going overboard.

  • @eurazngal thank you for explaining! jeez... people can be soo ignorant

  • oh and actually listened to the commercial this time, and it's not even gwen saying that LOL~ it's the cute littler announcer girl haha

  • @talesgirl08 dude, i see what ur saying, but she is american and doesnt know japanese. u cant expect her to be completely fluent just by singing one song about harajuku fashion..

  • @talesgirl08 But thats what Harajuku Lovers and shit is all about, being cute and fun. This video was cute and fun and its supposed to be reaching out to little kids. Its not about stereotyping Japan.

  • @talesgirl08 its not just white people who like japanese things you know.

and harajuku is a district in japan

  • @talesgirl08...well, yeah, but...it's still really cute. ^__^

(Good points though...let's not go out of our way to appear ignorant. If we don't have to. ^_~)

    Cute. ^_^

  • I didn't think the commercial made it seem as though Japan were completely about video games and big cities.

(But then again...I never thought that Japan was completely about those things. I don't really know how it might affect someone who *did* think that Japan was about those things. Maybe it might reinforce that belief a little, IF someone already had that belief? I don't know. Perhaps. Didn't make *me* think of that, but then I have *never* thought that ANY country was all about that.

  • @talesgirl08 U r probably one of those Japanese obsessed losers....LOL

  • @talesgirl08 That's the stupidest comment I've ever read.

The clothing line is called "Harajuku lovers" so it makes pretty good sense that they would show Harajuku in the commercial instead of say rural Aomori...And do you think Japanese people are "ignorant" when they pronounce English words wrong? of course you don't.

  • @talesgirl08 oh come on i don't speak perfect English but it doesn't mean i look like an ignorant Asian!! Japanese it's not about video games n big cities that's true, but in 30 secs, what do you think will represent Japan well? Well-known? and people can relate? Samurai?? Of course not.

  • 0:02 is shibuya...did the girls actually go to Tokyo to film? im jealous...

  • @bubblegumxdxp i mean kids

  • they should have a teen line wtf

  • I'm a huge fan of Harajuku Lovers, I wish they had a teen line D:.

  • How are any of those "harajuku" at all?

  • Please make a super kawaii HaraJuku for Teens :3

  • DO WANT!

  • thumbs up if kpop bought you here :)

  • Y didnt i think Gwen Stefani was with this!

  • oh shit it's those hiphop twins.

  • why is it the kids ALWAYS have the most amazing and unique clothe?! WHY GOD WHYYY!!

  • I'm going to dislike this because I won't fit into those clothes.

  • Only thing I could use is there bags,

  • I knew weaboos would pop out of nowhere and criticize her for dumb shit.

  • @AomahouX Good point weeaboo.

  • it's a cute line. i think her experience with L.A.M.B combined with having kids may have been what inspired this.

  • i wish they made a harajuku teen<3

  • @RollerCoasterLuver3 They better freakin make it!! xD

  • This is a really cute line!

  • weird but i still love target

  • WHAT NOOO FUCKING FAIR

  • so...Gwen's a weeaboo now, or something?

  • @gentlemanREX so wait you like Harajuku or japan and now your called a "weeaboo", the world is big place, if you are american you are allowed to eat more than hamburgers...geez

  • If you can't find a item that you wanted in the store Ebay might have it

  • Comment removed

  • Since when are little kids the only ones interested in wearing Harajuku fashion? >_____<

  • Interesting they say Harajuku correctly in the background music but they say it wrong within the actual advertisement. Makes me sad. Cute clothes though.. ~_~

  • my history teacher saw my harajuku binder and he asked me if i saw this, AND IM GLAD I CHECKED IT OUT!!!!!!haha i want my future kids to wear nothing but this and hello kitty
