Wow considering the weight advantage of the Miata I was expecting the Mustang to fall off the right side of the screen! Be careful when adding more power to the Miata though. With the heavy chevy motor up front and no weight out back that thing will fight for traction and probably fishtail like crazy!
your an idiot... the LS1 weighs only 40 pounds more than the 1.8L 4 cylinder that came out. Its all aluminum... Stock motor was iron. The car only gained 150-175 pounds from the swap, MOST of it in the rear.
@1sikz31 Hmmm. LS1 is only 40 lbs heavier, but gained "only" 150-175lbs. from swap. Loss of consistency there. Aside from 175 being heavy, 40 is still a good amount, look at guys who relocate the battery to improve handling. Also how can a motor swap add rear weight unless it' s 911, or Lambo etc. Or if the Miata needed bigger, heavier wheel/tire combo for better traction, but even that wouldn't add 175lbs.
The T56 trans weighs the extra 100+ pounds, itsa beast... and it sits near the middle of the car, down low behind the front x-member and thus adds weight to the rear about equally as the front.

Considering I was CAM-only and he was Intake/exhaust/100 shot I did really well. He started in 1st gear while I was in 2nd gear (traction problems) and I had a passenger.
@1sikz31 if he had nitrous then yes 500 at the tires depending on how big of a shot, but if he didnt have nitrous and hes a 100 percent stock then his rwhp would only be 365 and thats with a manuel tranny, with an auto tranny its about 355 depending on gear ratio.
