  • SC2 should incorporate this concept for SC3!!

  • Who actually won this?

  • THAT is some serious mindfuckery. How in the hell do you program the AI for a game like this?

  • @mastermenthe At the moment they only have a chronal AI (sends units through time but not info) but an achronal AI is in the works.

  • @mastermenthe People Said the Same thing about The First RTS games

  • jesus christ this game looks so confusing

  • "I need those reinforcements yesterday!"

    "Ok, done"

  • @itchytf hehe, I need those reinforcements a month a ago. "ok"

  • Dang that's pretty amazing. "you could help me in upper left corner like a minute ago" O_O. That's special...

  • @MadeinHell2 Indeed. "Seriously, where were you?! I could have used your help a minute ago!" "ok, no prob." *sends units back a minute to help*

  • cant wait for this game !! im gonna beta test hopefully

  • @priorleon Why not preorder it, then you can alpha test it.

  • Wow! That's so cool!

For jumping into the future, did you make some sort of super-fast algorithm to quickly determine what happened in-between?

It's just mind-boggling, what you two are doing. So, is there like a set amount of time by which you have to be winning? Or do you just play until you kill all the opponents?

  • MrProgrampro, as far as I understand it, you don't literally jump into the future. All you can do is play on fast forward while everyone else is in normal speed, which will take you a little into the future.

As for determining what happens to the other players' units between the present and the future, I think it's not done at all. Only orders will be carried out that the players have actually given.

  • @Motorsheep , actually I'm pretty sure you DO jump to the future. And I mean algorithm like, if you have 5 units and one tank and they have some guys, an algorithm that would quickly determine where they moved during that time, and who was killed. They'd have to write a set of constant rules (ie. nonrandom), so that each person's jump to the future would yield the same future.

  • I've just spent about half an hour on the game's home page, reading and watching videos.

Now my head hurts. On the one hand, this is so brilliant that it's a must-have.

On the other hand, this is so brilliant that I'm probably too dumb to play it properly.

  • the timeline doesn't go back that far

  • ehm you prett much have no idea do you

  • Your stupidity amazes me, Lavudonte.

  • what game is this?

  • It is a game in development, called Achron

  • I'm confused by this game..wouldn't you always want to be as far into the past as possible?

  • If I got it right, issuing commands in the past costs you "chrono energy" resource.

And the further in the past you are, the more it costs.

  • Micro ftw

  • It's good to see some gameplay vids, rather than demoing specific features. Looks pretty cool and you guys seem to understand it intuitively, so it can't be too complicated once you're actually playing.

  • i like the time system but the graphics need a bit of clearance .

  • This is win.

  • This is brilliant guys. So innovative and cool(time). The hierarchy is awesome to. Cant wait until it comes out.

One question, not to be a critic and I can understand that it isn't easy to make things look like far cry 2, but are the graphics shown final? In my opinion graphics are good considering how, without lag, you can view different points in time. I would hope though that environments look different because theyre a little bland and dont have very many strategies to play off of. GREAT

  • Don't worry, this is just the alpha version. The graphics are going to be much better in the final release.

  • @xBrzapx oh god

  • Remember the important part of a game is always the actual programming behind it, making it pretty can be done later

  • I agree with you freezye. I have played many snes games that are a thousands times better than games today. I was only wondering if hazardous software was finished with graphics. My only real complaint is just that they haven't shown any different environments but I suppose I will just have to be patient. So excited for this game.

  • @Freezye so graphics is not a part of the "actual programming behind" the program?

  • @ErikKiliam

    Nope

  • @HippoOverlord dude this is alpha gfx, depending how they fare it may look like far cry 7 or like tetris or get canceled. Hope they find someone to invest and polish the gameplay well, it is very interesting concept (and pretty unique)
