I'm writing a research paper/speech over family detention centers. I read some of the comments posted about how these kinds of facilities do not seem to be that bad. I do not want to start a debate over youtbe comments but I would just like to say that this footage released was by ICE, of course the images are going to make the living sitation look like something it is not. Also, please please do your research (of both sides) before deciding where you stand on an issue.

Why are you people saying this is inhumane. These people are extremely lucky to be placed into a facility like this. This is nowhere near what a concentration camp is. I protested at another prison in defense of it. It is located in Lumpkin. There was an open borders group there and we headed them off as they came up to it on a march. They give a free flight back to country of origin aftyer 5 weeks. During the 5 weeks the illegal alien tries to gain amnesty or visa. They have all been tried and convicted of big crimes. I am a researcher for a nonprofit organization that works on immigrant detention and private prison issues. Hutto is an egregious resultant of the conflict between public enterprise and the goals of the criminal justice system. CCA is profiting from the imprisonment of families. Those are the reasons that will bring hundreds of protesters to the facility until it closes.

It makes sense that most private prison work would be centered on CCA-- the largest for-profit prison company in the world.

I'll try to dumb it down for you. When one person makes a profit by imprisoning another person, problems are likely to arise. One of those problems is the detention of children. There are children inside of a private detention center in Taylor, Texas. That is a problem.
