Scott is an awesome charmer with intelligence and wit imo (unlike say...uhm Dr House? lol Scary & cranky, way 2 much "craziness", ep after ep..)

S1 story lines are written in that way (eg carguments/banter) Similar 2 NCIS LA too. PLenkov & AOL said in earlier interviews SC & AOL do the "heavy-lifting?" for H5O- are relieved when "rookie" Kono/troubled Chin characters come in! (Jenna K character actress has explained it the same way:))

@4surecan Yeah except it's everything I wish LA was. LA suffers from being like many spin-offs, in that it's inferior and produced by a different crew and the original NCIS has a much better cast.

Hawaii I'm impressed with as a whole is that while there's the usual escapism and over-the-top stunts, it goes so fast that unlike L.A., there's not enough time to critique anything going on, there's a twist per minute so it's never boring, there's not bad acting or cringe-worthy dialogue & simple
