The protagonist is too clean shaven and well kept to be believable as a boozing druggie. He has an impressive physique but I visualize such noirish characters as being more the Bruce Willis grizzled type.
That said, you did a great job on this short, the production value is high, great lighting, some great camera work. I just think mainly you need more long shots, but I am no Scorsese.
Some really good things going on in this short. But there are some weak points, care for some friendly criticism?
I found the excessive use of close ups disorienting. Where were the establishing shots? The boat scene in the beginning was really cool, but IMO pointless to the story. It would have been better to start with the club IMO.
