I first heard this song as an instrumental in "Run For Your Life, Charlie Brown" and have always loved it ever since. Thank you for posting this video, fond childhood memories.
Excellent rendition! Many thanks. (I was first attracted to this piece upon hearing it played as background radio in "The Green Mile". I later realized I've heard the chorus played many times as "elevator music" in shopping malls - neutered with 1001 strings, and a complete aberation.)
I love songs from the 1920s :D I actually came across this song when I was watching Morecambe & Wise (british comedy duo). They were in a supermarket and Ernie Wise picked up a box of chow mein. Eric Morecambe said that was a famous song. "I wonder why you keep me waiting...chow mein." :D Now hearing the song, I understand the joke...I love this stuff!
I used to hate my name way back in elementary school, but as the years have passed I realize how lucky I am to have been named after this beautiful song. I'm so glad mom loved it so much to name me. Thank you for this post. It choked me up. :)
@Scheherizade I also used to dislike my name when I was a child. But my daddy loved this song and the name and chose it for me before I was ever born. My daddy sang it to me all the time! Unfortunately, the song has been used in movies to denote oddity. It certainly isn't a common name these days. But I think it is pretty.
thank you for this lovely tune. I was looking here for the words and here it is, holds a dear memory of my grandpa... he would play it for me. as this is my Name
I like everything about this song except the emoting, which at the time was the style. Its not my fault.

The melody is so beautiful. And he has a wonderful voice. I love his recordings. Thank you for sharing!
Does anyone know of a posting or CD recording of Baur's recording on Victor of My Heart Will Tell Me So?

This song seems to have been composed for him. It suits his voice perfectly.
