Seriously, where the hell can you find the english translation patch for the game. I don't want to resort to emulators cause it's not gonna run as good on the computer than the ps2. I'll buy this game and download the patch but idk where to find it. Please help.
Does anyone know if any of the Front Missions have free battles? I just started 3 but it doesn't look like it has any free battles and that's a game killer for me.
@joegt123 If by "free battles" you mean non-plot fighting, then sure - there's always some sort of "simulator" which you can access, usually a bit into the game, after which point you can usually visit it at any time during the game - even in between consecutive field (i.e. plot) battles.
In some of them you can replay previous plot battle maps, in others you play on unique ones, iirc. Despite being called a simulator you earn exp and skills just the same as "real" plot battles.
@Trucidation Then that's exactly what I'm looking for. Having had my first Tactic game be FFT, I can't stand any tactical RPG that doesn't allow for leveling outside of plot battles.
Just on the opening scene this game looks better than evolved what were the producers thinking not releasing this game outside Japan and instead releasing evolved they must have been high and had too much sake to drink.
ahhhhhh, why dont they just release this on ps3, I hear that Front Mission Evolved sucks, mainly because they took out the strategy aspect. I really like the ff tactics style gameplay of this series, PLEASE BRING IT BACK
@Spacefrisian they have compilation versions but those are only for JP, and it doesnt have 5. 6 isn't even out yet (Evolved is a "side" game even though it is set in the same timeline)
@Direwolf13PS3 I think FrontMissionFan was pointing out the misinformation about what you thought was in our team's English patch. As he/she said, the patch covers the whole game with the exception of the video I uploaded - which is correct.
@LegaiaRules I see, I do understand his point, but I still don't understand why he jumped in on other peoples convos. Not to mention the word "complete" in gaming is not always as it seems (I think you know what I mean). In any case im glad the misunderstand was set straight, on that note I was wondering if you know where to get a cheap copy of the game (import). Do you happen to know any good places to go?
@LegaiaRules Yeah looked around there recently, however would you happen to know if the game plays on a US PS3? Seeing as all of them have had the "Japanese only" warning (PS2). However my PS3 is the SE 80GIG that came with MGS4. It's not as if saving up for a japanese PS2 is "difficult", but If it can be played on a US PS3, than that would be a great save. (BTW thanks for replying most people seem to dissappear whenever they post vids lol).
@Direwolf13PS3 All you need to play the English patched version of FM5 is a way to play any PS2 burned games since the patch sort of makes it into a "burned" game. You should be able to play the original FM5 as it is on your PS3 since it's not region-coded, but this is without applying the patch. I'm not sure what tools are available on the PS3 that can do this, but for PS2, Swapmagic is something I'd recommended.
@LegaiaRules Hmm, that is interesting, the dorks at Toys'N'joys said the game wouldn't work. (I had a feeling it wasn't region coded, seeing as ACFA [before Ubi picked it up] worked on my PS3). I really hate people who lie just to try and make you buy more of their crap lol. Thanks for the tip
@LegaiaRules You know this game looks pretty badass i like strategy games a lot. Shame it wasn't released here in the states. I was wondering suppose I somehow got a Japanese copy of the game what would I need in order to play it with the English patch. I have a Ps2 slim and a Ps3 slim (120 gigs).
This game rivals FM3... I'm only on Mission 6 and i feel it is epic. I must say... its kinda odd playing the game... as a member of the USN military and everyone speaks Japanese... but hey... thats the way things go no?
Just because gamespot or ign gave front mission 4 a stupid score doesnt not make these fm titles BAD games, no, Hell no. I mean If you enjoyed Front mission Original, then These would/Should make you MORE than Happy. The reason why it would do so, is because These new gen titles have everything the original had and More.
Excuse me for being ignorant, but is this an english patch created by hardcore fans of the series? If so thats amazing, when can we expect it to be ready? I'm guessing it's safe to assume that it's for the computer as well?
congrats to the team who worked on this(so many to name).
I am looking forward to translated/modified world historica. I downloaded the uploaded japanese world historica page by page, it wasn't worth it because it was all japanese txt. I am glad i didnt buy it, lol.
it's because people these days don't know what hard work mean. they can talk a lot, but when push comes to shove, they have nothing to back it up. it's like the people who are pro-war, but they've never seen what a real battle looks like.
the fact these folks did a ton of historical research and got US military folks to keep the military atmosphere alive (read the interview) says a lot about the effort they put into it.
@Breakerchase the link's on their project website's press section. it's pretty deep, partially spoilerly (you'll see what i'm talking about if you read it), but very interesting nevertheless.
i wanna thank you guys for the excellent work you have done, really i visit your page everyday to admire your hard work.good luck on your future works ^^
This event movie was modified last and only one person worked on it. The rest of the game, on the other hand, has been thoroughly tested for more than a year now. Read up on our developer commentaries (link at our website) and you can figure out how much effort went into the localization. I wouldn't worry too much about this video because it's only a small fraction of the 2000+ pages we worked on.
We could, but then all you would have is a mute movie (that's what I mean by sound problems). Rather than piss off people, I found uploading it here to be a better solution.
@LegaiaRules And thats the Reason the Youtube Method is The best.. put it on your iPod or your phone, or whatever that plays video and watch it before a newgame lol.
I just want to say thanks to all the people who helped to translate these game so the ones like me, that don't speak japanese, could play these fantastic game.
I remember this project when it first started, and I've been excited about its release up until the very day it was finished. I'm glad there are some true and dedicated fans out there like you guys, otherwise everyone wouldn't get to enjoy awesome games like this.
For people running emulators, there are still some major issues regarding the rendering of the graphics, but I'm sure the community will resolve it. Good luck on all your upcoming projects as I also look forward to their release!
can anyone tell me where to get this please I need it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
