This guy was a publicity whore d-bag back in high school that actually defended Wal-Mart's dubious employment practices while deriding hispanics as a drain to our economy. He's still a publicity whore now.
Maupin embodies the worst aspects of career politician. Glad the police put him in jail.
I'll say Jarrett had some very opinionated views. His public speech skills were extremely apparent when at school, as he loved to hop up onto any elevating podium and preach. Of course he was racial, not racist, but more importantly passionate and charismatic. I haven't spoken with him for some time but he was always ahead of the game. It's no surprise he's made it as far as he has. The kid was brilliant. This is not a claim to fame for knowing him, just a mark of his character.
This guy is an asshole. He persecuted a perfectly good man with false accusations on being racist. Basically a cop who had a show called street beat or something to that effect caught two black guys littering. He gave them the choice of making a rap about not littering and sing it, or they would be forced to pay the fine. In my opinion I strongly feel he wasn't trying to be racist. I think this country needs to settle down, and think twice before they scream racist!
OMG....these kids saying they went to high school with him, have nothing good to say. Looks like thats their claim to fame. ha, come on kids , lets be honest, he made an extraordinary statement here. Now what have you done worth being filmed and celebrated. Why don't you go try to make your parents proud. You'll never go up by bringing someone down. Shame on YOU.
I don't trust ANY politician. But -- even if this guy talking is a scumbag -- I like his message. We need to act. We the people, haven't done SHIT and its time we start. If Obama keeps his promises, wonderful. But lets not ASSUME that he will. If WE want change then WE need to change things!
ARRESTED BABY! i went to high school with this guy, he was a total dirtbag. he used to brag about exploiting mexican immigrants at home depot by acting as their pimp to their landscape clients. terrible.

I heard someone say that the majority of American are like little baby birds when it comes to getting information. The Media(mama) comes around and pukes down their throats and they love her for it, and fight and demand for more puke.
It is high time that we realize that we are not baby birds and don't like having puke shoved down our throats. We The People are human beings and need to start acting like we are. We know that anyone that voted for the bailout plan is out, now we have to prove it
The Reverends reference is based on the fact that original market where Wall Street now stands was built in part on slave labor including but not limited to construction of stockades and buildings developed by local, wealthy merchants. Many of the bankers and merchants of Wall Street bought and sold slaves to finance their businesses and to produce products in the South. Can we keep religion and politics separate please? I'm just sick of all the "God Damn America" speeches and stuff. Religious leaders need to stick to teaching morals, which is an area where they have really let the public down.
This is Rev. Maupin's wife, Denise. Thank you for posting this video. It's truly wonderful to see that there are real people that listen to real issues.
i heard him speak the previous evening at cooper union. unfortunately, i only caught the end of his speech, but thought he was spectacular. was happy to see him again, and again he was spectacular. would you please ask him to send me a youtube message so i could arrange to interview him? thanks!

I also went to highschool with him.
He was expelled, and has been arrested several times, most recently for libeling the mayor of Phoenix with absurd claims.
This guy is a joke, I'm glad is 15 minutes are over.

cheap labour using slavery helped America to become very prosperous thats what he meant when he was talking about wall street
Smart Wok formula leaves a lot of people behind
Arent people losing homes due to the crisis? I thought its the major reason
