  • that was my birthday!

  • Mine also.

  • "covering their bare assets" LOL I never thought I'd hear anybody else say that let alone a Congressman XD

  • And nowhere on the news does it mention the federal reserve printing a record 1.25 trillion dollars out of thin air, lowering the value of the dollar 3% in just one day. This is called counterfeiting

  • outta nowhere.... a lion??

  • Stop the filtering of my texts...stupid youtube ..

  • rofl niiice

  • If I was from Massachusetts i would be embarrassed of the way Stephan Lynch acted during the testimony. It was like he completely ignored everything that was said or just showed up 30 seconds before his 5 minutes of questioning. The show that he put on is everything that is wrong with American Politics.

  • 5 ***** editing!

    Excellent :)

  • "What we need are tools..." "..grab pitch forks.." lol

  • I feel dirty.

  • Not so fast you greedy bastards!

  • I thought the lion was going to pull a Chimp face eating move!

  • That's an old story. They actually raised the lion from a cub and when it grew up they were forced to let it go back into a while. I think it was a number of years later and against people saying that it won't remember them and would attack them, they went to find it and it remembered and loved them back and protected them from the other lions. Quite a touching story actually.

  • I'm just sayin', you gotta be careful with deadly predators anything can............and will happen. What about that lady in Conn. who got her face chewed off by that 200lbs chimp, stuff like that. But that lion story is interesting though.

  • Oh, and where were the ladies in pink. Lol. They looked like tools.

  • I usually love TPMTV clips, but I dunno. I watched the hearing and most of the people, including the chair, kept saying it wasn't Liddy's fault cause he's CEO at the the request of the government.

I thought this video would mock the News programs for asking for a blood bath when really it opened with a cuddlefest. Instead this video seemed to just kinda fan the flames of the few guys that were grumpy.

I do like that it showed the talking heads who were at the hearing just to be seen on TV.

  • Akerman is great!

  • 0bamasecrets (4 hours ago)

  • wtf is up with the lion lol

  • It's Christian the domesticated lion. He was released back into the wild and years later his former keepers went to look for him, The clip was the result.

  • great

  • LET AIG FAIL!

  • Dr. Drew is the best

  • They call them greedy bastards when the system itself encourages people to behave in that kind of manner... Hypocrites...

  • just kill them!

  • Fox feels dirty.

  • Short selling isn't evil

  • Have we already forgotten about the chimp attack in Conneticut?

People who play with zoo animals should be eaten by them. And when the animals are done snacking on their ignorant trainers they can go down to Wall Street and finish the job Congress won't do.

We need some Roman justice here. Short sellers and executives to the left, politicians and the lobbyists to the right.... Release the lions!

  • Shouldn't we be mad at Congress a bit more than for these bonuses? One is a few million and other is BILLIONS from taxpayers, plus one is part of the other. Why can't people get angry at Congress at least this much? Where is the outrage?

  • MegF, You have the right idea. But we should be angry at the Federal Reserve. They gave the billions to AIG, and many other banks. The Fed didn't spend our tax dollars, though. They spent our purchasing power by reducing the value of the dollar.

  • THIS

  • lol at the "I can't believe it's not butter guy" pretty funny. Anyway AIG can go suck dick they'll never learn

  • Yeah, I'm thinking of going in to the insurance business myself. Apparently you can sell it, pocket and keep the commissions, regardless of whether you actually have any money to back claims or not. So, any airlines and banks that need insurance...just send 'em my way.

  • hate to break it to ya, but if you are paying taxes, you are the one sucking dick

  • love the lions. hate the liars

  • They should meet sometime, eh?

  • lol pitchforks !

  • "Offense was intended so you take it rightly, sir."

    WIN

  • Verbal pwned he was.

  • Nice as always.

  • Believe or not: AIG ist just the beginning.

  • I wish we were that angry at Bush.... trillions of dollars spent in Iraq later, we're still not. But some AIG get 150 million in bonuses and its the end of the world

  • Also the 50 billion dollars that are just plain missing from the Bush administration. No outrage over that, even though its completely gone. 167 million to where we know where it went compared to 50 billion missing. Hmmmm...

  • loving all the fake outrage

  • fu troll

  • nice definately on tha money.......and may i add a lot of it too, screwit jus take all of it-

  • time to divest, people! let stop AIG ourselves...Divest!

  • checkurself, I thought that was the reason AIG failed in the first place.

  • No. They lied about their accounting. Lied about their net worth. When evidence emerged then the stocks fell. That happened to many companies like Enron. The difference is financial firms here and abroad who got insurance by AIG on their derivatives trades. Goldman Sachs had $20 billion insured by AIG. They have friends in the Federal Reserve and the Treasury dept. So we keep them going... Goldman Sachs has been the biggest winner in this.

  • checkurself, Do you have a source for that, so I can check it?

  • I wish congress had Read The Bill !! before they signed it . arent they all lawyer's?

  • MS1719ms....Very good and true comment...But remember they are very bad lawyers...Why would you spend millions for a $175,000 a year job...And this is our leaders !

  • "Why would you spend millions for a $175, 000 a year job?"

The correct answer is: for the honor of serving your country and making a difference.

Their actual answer is: they don't INTEND to. Hence the automatic pay raises. They'll be at $400K before you know it. Consider that a retainer fee, since the real money is made when they retire from Congress and get jobs with lobby groups and PACs.

  • OlivierdeAthos... Good answer!! I'm so glad people are waking up.

  • If they didn't read The Patriot Act before signing it, I don't know why anybody would be surprised by them not reading the Bandit-Bailout Act before signing it.

  • OlivierdeAthos... No I wasnt suprised just wanted to know if anyone else is paying attention to the Bailout Bandits. Dodd put an amendment to this bailout at the last moment that allowed the million dollar bonuses, sneaky hu

  • @ OlivierdeAthos

As I have come to understand it, the Patriot Act was written in 1993. They had almost a decade to read it.

  • Oh for crying out loud, people haven't grown tired of that fucking lion yet? It was like 30 years ago, LET IT GO!!!

  • bleunt...Good comment...I'm sick of the lion too ! It was around 1977...Born Free ! At least the lion got out at a good time....

  • Lion molestation.

  • Dr. Drew is an uptight prick and I'm not surprised to see him on FOX talking about how "dirty" he feels.

Dan Savage pwns Dr. Drew any day.

  • cant wait to watch that hearing from the beginning

  • I did, and I feel this video didnt' do it justice. A rare miss.

  • fucking propaganda plain and simple

  • I love how every politician, news reporter and person in America is on the same side against AIG.

This company has stomped on the entire country and needs to pay the price. I say make the names and addresses of the executives public.

  • Slow down, Cowboy. I can understand wanting the executives and their wives dead, but their children? The children can't control their parents greed. I suppose you think we should give the death penalty to the children of murderers too?

  • You're the kind of piece of shit that makes America look bad.

  • These guys destroy the American economy and then steal millions from the dead carcass of their company, but I am the "piece of shit that makes America look bad."

No, it is these thieves that MAKE AMERICA BAD.

  • No, it's the idiots that wish death upon others.

I'm sure you are one of the 24% that support Bush as well.

  • You have no reason to assume that.

  • god i love these.

  • am i the only one that's not ....idk, impressed, by the "lion video"? I think people should let animals be animals. Who hugs a lion???

Anyhoo, back to the video, AIG sucks, members of congress suck, Joe Scarborough sucks, and FAUX news definitely sucks!!!!

Know what doesn't suck, these daily recap videos, keep 'em coming TPM!!!

  • You're "not impressed" with the touching lion reunion vid? Did you flip your hair back with lots of attitude as you wrote that?

  • No i did NOT "flip my hair back with attitude", ...i should have though, huh? lol

I mean no disrespect to people who love that sort of thing, i just happen to be one of the people who believe that animals are animals and should be treated as such. I can't even imagine touching a lion, ..so you see where i'm coming from?

  • @ ver506

Way, way back like the 1960's they did a documentary 'Born Free.'

My gosh, with the bell bottoms and these terrible 1970's fashions coming out, I guess it wouldn't be complete without the lions being presented yet again...

  • Two things:

#1 I love TPM and the day in 100 seconds feature, but why is it no longer available in HQ?

#2 What silly news agency was just reporting about Christian the Lion? That's been on YouTube for almost a year.

  • offense was intended, so you take it rightfully. i like that. :)

  • Now you may die happy.

  • Jesus, TPM is amazing.

  • Thanks!
