the average DIYer wouldnt be able to make one, needing AVR programming hardware.

no schematic (it uses a microcontroller anyway, which needs to be programmed)

the knob at the top cycles through the different LFO "shapes". between trianglewave, sine, square, ramp and random.

Those must be very small pots. Are they mounted on the circuit board as well?

nope, regular metal alpha pots. it's a tight squeeze, but they fit. I also have big hands, so it looks smaller.
