Most hmong people in France even the elders know French! that's why they don't usually speak in hmong. Remember the first generation moved to France first long before US and now it's already the third generation living there.

It doesnt matter what country you're in..YOU ARE HMONG. I would say if not all 80-90 % hmong elders here in the USA knows how to speak English too but that doesnt mean we speak it at the new years. IF we speak English it only enourages our children's to speak it. No matter what country we are in, the native language will always be spoken, so learn hmong, speak hmong and keep 'us'' alive, and perserve our culture/language. Peace!
