2..if communities are self sufficient with regards to economic stability then of course government intervention is wrong. if improvement is required then a)could the wants of the government be tweaked to work for the estuary communities b) what are the main issues affecting these communities? ~ would be my focus, as i feel the 'battle' might well be more productive if channelled for sustainable progress
The theme of the interview is the Community Landtrust that has been developed in the communities surrounding an estuary in San Juan, Puerto Rico. These are poor communities, but they are centralized inside the San Juan Metropolitan area. The problem is that the government had already given us our land, but now they saw its economic value and they want it back. We are battling against these law projects presented by the government, in order to preserve our communities and prevent gentrification.
3..lets hope this video reaches far and wide for awareness, but equally as important, if not more, is channelled focus.
