  • 42 people are so angry this didn't come out for their NES they thumbed it down!

  • You are combination reviewer/instructor for these games - sort of a genius really! BIG thumbs up!

  • I had this as a kid as well and i remember jumping when confronted with one of the sudden "scream screens". Its worth noting they weren't random, they occurred when the player entered a screen containing a character that had just been murdered. Top video, thanks!

  • The main things I remember about this game: The buildings were bigger on the inside than the outside and bathrooms are just as big as living rooms. You could bring dead people back to life by hitting them a few times with a weapon, like an axe. How freaked out I was as a 6 year old when Jason would start chasing me, and I would run into the house and let him chase me a few times around the lounge before I got the nerve to go apeshit on him with.

  • This game was incredibly simple. All you had to do was run around and give every character a single hit with your weapon to reveal Jason.

  • At 1:24 the upper-right guy looks like Barack Obama, and the lower-right Tay Zonday!

  • the first song sounds like the phantom of the opera.

  • After the first few people called you an idiot you should have perhaps gotten the the hint to remove this video since it is exactly the type of time wasting clutter that is ruining youtube.

PS: Your mom lied. You are NOT interesting, nor are you smart. Work on these points before you go and inflict yourself on mankind again.

  • this guy is so stupid

  • 0:27 best laugh ever

  • Yeah..this takes me back !!

  • system requirements ??????

  • @marios19257 Radeon 6990, Quad core processor.

  • Duża Mapa jak na Grę z Komodory.

  • idiot

  • the music is scaring me

  • you sound like you have no life

  • The Music is priceless. Fits perfectly to the movies. xD

  • he sounds like a bitch :-D i hate that accent..

  • And I thought the NES version was bad.

  • the retarded guy talking none stop ruined the vid.

  • I was 5 or 6 when my brother got this game. The scream scared the fuck out of me. It looks pretty tame by today's standards. I do remember liking the music at the time.

  • ...I teh Nes version is better but ima troll you for saying that the movie was poorley designed... The movies ,or most of them, rocked. Empasisce on MOST some sucked *cough*PART THREE*cough*!

  • @DMarriot81/ kyllesvinet42: I agree.

  • Wait what the fuck... Jason is one of your friends? and you actually have to know who is Jason? This game sucks.

  • i used to have nightmares of those sample screens you mentioned, I love the themes tho

  • Comment removed

  • It was always much more fun to kill all the campers first. If you found the room with a cross in it, every time you walked over someone, they'd go and stand by the cross. Then you could go there and slaughter them while they stood still! Awesome fun. The axe was the best weapon by far.

  • Baysiccklay...

  • "You English don't speak the language so much as just chew it up and spit it out"- Stewie Griffin

  • or thar you could use a bug to get a black square that killed jason in one hit

  • no clue at all

  • Oh man... Haha... I bought this freakin game for the Commodore 64 the year it came out. Good times were had by all.

  • @ohugitmeueffingc see that would be a funny joke if there actually was a female avatar walking by outside. Much like your "mum" who walks by at 3:04 while getting shanked.

  • Walks right by jason at 3:47 - FAIL

  • @anticlockclock Oh, Jason came out of his "costume" at least five times. But, he's so busy, trying to get a thrill screen to come up and using that axe that he knew not of what to do. Not to mention just walking by the corpse in the building without trying to revive it. (As weird as that is.) This game truly precursored those pop up scare flashes/movies that hit the net a couple or so years ago.

  • Walks right by Jason at 3:47

    FAIL

  • CPC edition was far better

  • the scream at the beginning scared the shit out of me,well at least back then^^but the games kinda crappy^^

  • @bossinator666 This game didn't scare me...much. Now, Way of the Exploding Fist was way better. See, I had the volume turned way up. In the loading, there's a lot of nothing. Then...

    "HAAAAIIIIIIII-YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" *Groan*

A sound sampling from a famous Bruce Lee film screams in the splash screen. No warning, at all.

  • not only does the reviewer mispronounce the killers surname.. he has no idea what to do.. hmmm professional..lmao

  • and on this farm he had a duck e i e i o

  • yeah man..aint played that since 88..bad old school game!!!

  • 3:47 jason was there, and u just moved away..lol

  • your review sucks

  • The horror images appear when you enter a room that has a corpse in it that you've not seen before.

  • This guy has no idea what this game is about. He doesn't mention the "scare-o-meter" nor the fact that Jason can take the guise of any of his victims. Also he passes the killer on several screens without commenting or engaging him in battle. Ir's the guy in black.

  • What's the scare-o-meter and how does it work?

  • Yes, I was just about to mention all of that but you obviously beat me to it. He didn't even visit all of the different screens, like the forrest scene where the music changes to 'if you go down in the woods today..."

  • @kyllesvinet42 True, but thje game was kind of lame, when Jason never even wore his mask and wore a leather jacket and looked like "The Fonz"

  • I miss this game. Using the axe was the best for slaughtering everyone.

  • So what the point of the game then please someone tell me?

  • To find out which one of campers is killer and kill him

  • @snowmanMK1 To find, fight and kill Jason...with each character...over and over and over. If lucky, Jason just walks amongst you in black. Else, you hack your friends to catch Jason's true image. Do this as quick as possible, so he doesn't kill everyone. You can also revive the dead by hacking at them. The scare-o-meter is how likely Jason is to just attacking you, I think. But, by starting to hit him will tick him off. It's a decent game for it's time period. Imagine a modern 3-D game...

  • Actually, I just noticed that you passed by Jason at 3:47

  • That scream is BURNED into my brain!

  • The nes game should have been this as a port.

  • "look at that, look at that size of the axe..."

    then suddenly... AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

  • ho is that ending guy?

  • want a scary game to play... check rescue on fractalus.. esp when the alien appears on the screen.. never played this THANKFULLY.

  • Those pictures were not random. They would pop up everytime you entered into an area for the first time where someone had been killed.

Anyway. I didn't own this game,my firend did. It was ok, not great. I never beat this one.

  • wow, the nes version looks like mario 3 compared to this shit!

  • the random screen were totally scary. I played it when I was 10 yo. I remember one time when I turned of the C64 because I was so scared of one of the random screens It was a big skull with an axe in its head - I can even still remember it. Horrifying! Back then at least...

  • i dont know which one is worse the nintendo version or the commondor 64 . 64 seemed more scary with sound & pop up image at random , nintendo your walking into a house then out of nowhere jason there & im throwing rocks at him lol & the friend beeping keeps going off u get there & there dead lol

  • you dope you went past jason twice!! didnt you see the guy in black? attack him!!

  • ok the idea of the game is to save your ten friends, Jason the bad guy is walking around the village trying to kill you and your friends, so you have to kill him first! every time you here that loud scream one of your friends have died. but sometimes Jason is discuised as a friend so you have to him them once to try and knock it off, if you hit the right one he turns into that guy in the black suit walking around. this is a poor review and you can't even read, and this game is a classic.

  • what a shitty sound and graphics but great review :)

  • What an awful review. You mumble, you read all the intro text even though we can do it ourselves, you repeat yourself or get lost into explaining irrelevant stuff because you get carried away with the gameplay, yet YOU ALWAYS MISS JASON AND WALK PAST HIM without explaining us that it's him. Also back then, you didn't play with a C64 on a big TV or monitor, they were rather small.

  • i remember i could never figure out what the game was about. i was a only a kid, and couldn't read english. so i went about killing everyone.

  • lol me too

  • when i first herd the scream i almost craped myself

  • me too oh my god what terrible sounds

  • i had nightmares from this pic of the guy with a machete in his head!

  • oh shit are they over ? THIS GAME IS FUCKING HORRIBLE

  • i was 10 when i played this game first and back in the early 90's it really scared me!!

  • ahhhh ja du warts also 10 jahre ok und nun bist du 27 ah ok verstehe aber weist du was das is echt schlimm sogar ich hab schiss gekriegt das ist eben scheiß grafik^^

  • I used to like the music on this game

  • i used to go around murdering everyone in this game

  • You could raise the dead too by repeatedly whacking them with a weapon, I think the sword worked best, they would get up and walk around again.

  • YES i remember waking the dead! Haven't thought of that in years.

  • As a child I knew a kid who 'actually' pooed his pants the first time he played this game when a random horror picture with scream popped up!

Entertaining review! keep up the good work!

  • this game was also very scary to me as a child...oh the screams!

  • "the sampled scream was the best thing to the game???"

  • This guy that is doing the review is quite dumb, but he sounds very friendly. He doesn't remember anything of what he read at the beginning of the game!!

  • Are you speaking english? Sounds like you got a dick in your mouth.

  • lol

  • those screams used to scare the hell out of me,you dont seem to understand that the screams and pictures arent random, they appear when one of your friends die,and your supposed to kill the guy in black you twat,..great game!

  • good review man, but i like the NES version a lot better. Keep up the good work

  • Sorry but tbh this wasn't a really decent review, you need to sound more confident and composed and also.. maybe if you're a child this game would be scary, but even if I was, it wouldn't scare me, tbh this is more as someone said a 'where is jason' game.

    Doom is a scary game.

Finding Jason is not, especially when there's a list of what your friends look like in the corner and as someone pointed out HE IS IN BLACK WITH BLACK HAIR.

But the intro bit with the 'plot' for the game is pure L o L

  • 2:42 - Music...WTF Old MacDonald had a farm?! O_o

  • LOL! Whats wrong with Old Mac dude? ;)

Thats a proper tune is that!

  • boy, do you know what you do?

    what a crap review.

The black guy is JASON and YOU NEED TO KILL HIM, not just walking by and let him kill people!

You see him at 3:46 and again at 5:16 and do nothing.

no, you don't do nothing. you punish the kids.

  • And how the fuck would you know that was Jason wearing black 1st time playing this shit??? And his he suppose to be wearing a hockey mask. (Reply to mydearkate page 2)

  • He didnt get that till the 3rd movie..

  • Had a c64 only remember playing predator never saw this game.

  • it was the best game ever made for thr c64--

  • "Sow Bayyysicly....."

  • Heh, the guy talking there really has no idea what this game is about. Made me smile while listening him. "Basicly..."

Was a great game back then!

  • lol

  • There was a neat glitch where if you killed one of your friends, sometimes (based on where they died or what weapons were on screen with them? not sure), you could pick up their body and use it as a weapon.

  • Really?? Never saw that. Gotta start playing again I guess. One of my old favorite games!! Dam I miss it. I remember another glitch, I'm wondering anyone else saw this one. I used to "kill" those friends that got killed by Jason and eventually /after trying for 2-3 times/ they stood up and walked away. LOL, after discovering this I always won without having a friend killed by him!

  • You got lucky there, finding the axe right away, but sometimes you could be running around carrying the little knife with Jason chasing you from screen to screen while you're desperately seeking the axe or spear (that chainsaw wasn't bad either... and if I remember correctly, some weapons could be thrown).

  • You mention the poor design of the size of the axe, and it does look cheesy, but it was a key point of the game. Different weapons were different lengths (the axe was the best), which made all the difference when fighting Jason. They also did different amounts of damage.

  • If you whacked one of your friends, and he was disguised as Jason, he would briefly be revealed... but if you whack or kill to many of your friends, that skull meter (bottom center) would fill out, and you would also lose the game. They gave you so much leeway with that, though... I think you basically had to kill every single person with the weakest weapon to fill the skull.

  • *nods*

It was also possible to fill out the skull meter by hacking away at a friend's corpse.

  • You were just kind of running back and forth to show people the game, I guess; but it's not so objectiveless as you make it seem. You're meant to find out which of your friends is disguised as Jason and kill him with as many of your friends left alive as possible. He could also kill you, of course; or you could die of fright (note the fright meter at the bottom left, with your hair standing up straighter and straighter).

  • The screams and cut scenes weren't random. You heard a scream each time Jason killed one of your friends (even in your video, you see the character at the right of the screen turn into a grave stone, telling you who was still alive or dead), and the cut scenes appeared when you stumbled on Jason's victims.

  • You're right about the screams, but the cutscenes were, in fact, random. Sometimes the player would get a cutscene when walking onto a screen with a corpse, and sometimes they wouldn't. Sometimes they even got the cutscene while being on the same screen as a friend when s/he got killed by Jason.

  • lmao same here, it scared me the hell of when i was young, had to start the game without sound ahah

  • The scream almost scared me to death, especially when combined with the pictures of the skulls/man with an axe in his head.

  • That game looks scarier than the nes version!

  • excellent music...

  • Where the hell was Jason??!

  • i didnt know there was a Commodore version. Nice

  • What's with the happy Bach minuet being bastardized on this game? Totally out of place.

  • I hope you mix your voice louder relative to the music next time...

    love your vids.

  • :-O At the ending lol

I remember when we used to play this in your "cupboard" those faces / random pictures used to scare this shit out of me lol

  • ahhh lol, nice ending O.O

  • i have friday the 13th for the nes
