@TheUnrulyTurk If you think Master Chief died, you're an outright fool. It's completely obvious, like clark6050 stated, you did not see the Legendary ending. In the Legendary ending, Master Chief goes into a cryogenic sleep, telling Cortana to "Wake me, when you need me."

Plus, it's implied you're supposed to have seen the Legendary ending in the Halo 4 trailer, as Cortana wakes Master Chief up from his cryogenic sleep, completely proving he is isn't dead.
