Great video post! I was going to chuck my T3 until I came across this. Having a small flat screwdriver handy for prying off the case is an absolute must. Some bending of the casing is unavoidable, but you can easily bend it back in shape before reassembly. I loved the music as well, it keeps you calm during the difficult parts. Yes, I had to play some parts over and over again, but I was able to get the job done. Thanks!

No store in town knew how to do it and they wanted to charge me a grip for just trying! So I did it myself tx to your video and everyones comments. Thank you so much! No, unless you buy a PalmOne SD Wifi card which last I checked, costs $100. Could be lower since this model is old now. Only that SD wifi card will work since it was built specifically for Palm devices.

On eBay I found battery from China for $1USD + $6USD shipping - YES! seven bucks delivered! Just got it in about 1 week - installed it in 20 minutes works fine. Sure beats paying $70!!!
(a) slide end removed by put paper clip end in 2 tiny holes on back of case (in line with silver slide grooves) push slightly in, slide off the base Near end of travel twist sideways gently to free. (b) DO NOT peel flexible circuit board - just disconnect connector as shown and leave two case pieces attached by it.
(c) to open last case after 4 screws removed, lay unit on screen, use blade in upper crack, pry plastic case wider - not upwards!

BUT at the point of "unplug the battery cable" those less skilled should remember, there is a socket attached to the mother board and a battery plug that fits into it (tightly in my case). If you just go ham-handedly prying thinking the thing will unplug before your pry the socket off the mother board, ... well, used t3 are still available on ebay for around 3x replacement battery cost. Pleasant music doesn't help the thumbidexterous ...

Watching your video gave me the courage to try my own T3 battery replacement. I did it about a half hour (watching and re-watching your video several times). The music was a welcome, calming influence!
For anyone considering attempting this feat I would suggest taking a valium beforehand. You would think that changing a battery for a PDA is as simple as changing a battery on a mobile phone. WRONG! There are so many bloody tiny screws to remove - the case doesn't seem to want to budge and for some reason they decided to glue everything together including the battery!! This task just wasted 45 minutes of my life, give and take 10 minutes for cursing...
- You just do not need to peel the wire ribon from the back case, only disconnect at the end
- You can open the case smoothly by pushing sideway. this releases at that side. Then to the other side swiftly. No need for screwdriver (that can hurt!).
- There are replacement batteries (usually indicated 'for M550') that are not the same size of that of the original T3 but they can be put in without problem. Do not get a heart attack like me noticing the difference!

you have to get a SDio card from Palm and install the Zire z3 (i think) drivers on it..... Bing gave me the better results then Google so try that...

My experience is:
- You just do not need to peel the wire ribon from the back case, only disconnect at the end
- You can open the case smoothly by pushing sideway. this releases at that side. Then to the other side swiftly. No need for screwdriver (that can hurt!).
- There are replacement batteries (usually indicated 'for M550') that are not the same size of that of the original T3 but they can be put in without problem. Do not get a heart attack like me noticing the difference!
