Guys fuck off you dont like covers then cuz they make it to honor the real versin you faggots, try to make one for yourself, you fucking Europeans.... >.>
I remember hearing this on an album of Joy Division covers by various bands. This version is obviously very different to the original, but I think they've done a pretty good job of balancing keeping true to the original but also capturing the spirit of the time in which they were playing too.
Good fresh cover not so doomslike but still sad. This is a good song, and though I like the original Joy Division best, I still like good covers like this one from Stanton Miranda, The Cure and Jose Gonzalez.
I really like this cover. I like the original much better BUT this was the first version I ever heard as a kid. My mom had it on an old tape along with other new order nin smashing pumpkins and other which ended up being my favs! I have a cool mom.
I actually like this version better than joy division's. but who are these guys?? Ive looked for them over the years and cant find anything about them? or her? or whatever...
awfull !!! stop that shit ! how can some pretended "fan" of joy division can do that to their music ? stop try to always imitate them and leave what they done in the past.
This is actually not too bad. She's got a good voice and doesn't sound affected like everyone else trying to do this song. They think they have to sound soooooo saaaaaad.
Awful, hang your head in shame, total pish. Ian Curtis will be spinning in his grave, no, hang on, he won't, he had better taste than this shite ! . . . .
Stanton Miranda is otherwise known as Thick Pigeon, whose album "Two Crazy Cowboys" was issued on Factory Records; the same label that Joy Division hailed from. In fact, two members of New Order play with Thick Pigeon, so this all goes hand in hand, and Stanton has her place in the fold. Never heard her cover, I like.
Shame on you split arse ..

The singer has really turned the original tone of the music around. Not an easy thing to do, but works here.

WTF is WRONG with you people? They were contemporaries of JD/early New Order and she was part of the legendary Thick Pigeon also on Factory Records
and this was recorded as part of a TRIBUTE ALBUM by many other artists as well.Jesus Christ...dorks.

the song itself is TIMELESS, any artist who approaches this song with an open awareness will be able to convey the same message of ian curtis.

Some of you people have impossibly high standards for covers. The more the merrier, I say. They all got something to offer.

Will people finally let Ian rest in peace and not release crappy cover versions of this song?
Along with Susannah and the Magic Orchestra, possibly the worst rendition I have ever heard of my favorite song...
ritnyc 3 years ago
oh man are you serious? the cover by Susanna and the Magical orchestra is the only cover I love!
All the others though, those are crap. ESP the Fall Out Boy, wtf... like they know anything about JD anyway.

Jaaa.. esta versión esta muy pero muy suavizada... demasiado 'fresa'...
Totalmente alejado del sonido característico de Joy Division.
En fin.

The song is so timeless.
It's a testament the talent that many can cover and keep it alive in our collective awareness.

actually looking at the video clips of Stanton, this is the video for "Wheels over Indian Trails" just intercut with the JD footage.
