  • Shame on you split arse ..

  • -.- damn that hurts

  • The singer has really turned the original tone of the music around. Not an easy thing to do, but works here.

  • WTF is WRONG with you people? They were contemporaries of JD/early New Order and she was part of the legendary Thick Pigeon also on Factory Records

and this was recorded as part of a TRIBUTE ALBUM by many other artists as well.Jesus Christ...dorks.

  • Guys fuck off you dont like covers then cuz they make it to honor the real versin you faggots, try to make one for yourself, you fucking Europeans.... >.>

  • Well done! Finally, a cover with style.

  • I remember hearing this on an album of Joy Division covers by various bands. This version is obviously very different to the original, but I think they've done a pretty good job of balancing keeping true to the original but also capturing the spirit of the time in which they were playing too.

  • Good fresh cover not so doomslike but still sad. This is a good song, and though I like the original Joy Division best, I still like good covers like this one from Stanton Miranda, The Cure and Jose Gonzalez.

  • great version

  • Remove this fucking shit it´s a fucking disgrace....

  • @fr00de Censorship much?

  • Paul Young ftw!

    No.

    Stop!

    I was only joking!

    Aaaaaargh!

  • this is a really good cover...

  • I really like this cover. I like the original much better BUT this was the first version I ever heard as a kid. My mom had it on an old tape along with other new order nin smashing pumpkins and other which ended up being my favs! I have a cool mom.

  • original version all the way fuck off shit covers

  • @NihilismNothing THANK YOU AND HOW DARE Stanton Miranda piss on a song that should NEVER BE COVERED, even if she was on FACTORY RECORDS.

  • I actually like this version better than joy division's. but who are these guys?? Ive looked for them over the years and cant find anything about them? or her? or whatever...

  • I so miss the 90's lol times were good

  • I've recently discovered Stanton Miranda and have loved everything so far but can't find anything about her on the web.

  • the most touching cover ever... made me cry back in 1997

  • the song itself is TIMELESS, any artist who approaches this song with an open awareness will be able to convey the same message of ian curtis.

  • listen to the cover of this song by SWANS.

  • Great homage.

  • dog shit !!!!!1

  • i like it

  • this still rules...

  • Some of you people have impossibly high standards for covers. The more the merrier, I say. They all got something to offer.

  • I agree 110% :]

  • I agree 90% because NOUVELLE VAGUE SUCKS!

This one is one of the few best-not-so-bad(hugly) covers.

  • Totally HORROR!!!

    Please close your mouth Stanton

  • this sucks!

  • awfull !!! stop that shit ! how can some pretended "fan" of joy division can do that to their music ? stop try to always imitate them and leave what they done in the past.

  • At the start I hated it...now I like it!

    Alright!

  • Don't like this kinda music but this is okey :D

  • you look unbelievable in that cocktail dress outfit...your cover is also totally awesome, what more can i say ?

    :-)

  • good song good cover

  • Will people finally let Ian rest in peace and not release crappy cover versions of this song?

Along with Susannah and the Magic Orchestra, possibly the worst rendition I have ever heard of my favorite song...

  • oh man are you serious? the cover by Susanna and the Magical orchestra is the only cover I love!

All the others though, those are crap. ESP the Fall Out Boy, wtf... like they know anything about JD anyway.

  • Rest In Peace dear Ian

  • Jaaa.. esta versión esta muy pero muy suavizada... demasiado 'fresa'...

Totalmente alejado del sonido característico de Joy Division.

    En fin.

  • The song is so timeless.

It's a testament the talent that many can cover and keep it alive in our collective awareness.

  • Keep one's balance Miranda, good cover singer but the choreography lets wish ....

  • This is actually not too bad. She's got a good voice and doesn't sound affected like everyone else trying to do this song. They think they have to sound soooooo saaaaaad.

  • L'une des plus belle reprise sinon la meilleure pour l'instant ! Bravo!

  • wtf

  • video... ok. but this version of the song makes me puke...

  • Awful, hang your head in shame, total pish. Ian Curtis will be spinning in his grave, no, hang on, he won't, he had better taste than this shite ! . . . .

  • my favorite version of my favorite song

  • I see he has a Nektar t shirt on . That was a cool band .

  • Ohhh. I thought Nektar was a Soviet honey product.

  • Great version. Very pop.

  • Cool video, you should had Ian sing the second verse and chorus so it would be like a duet.

  • Yes.

  • I have heard over the years a lot of covers of Love Will Tear Us Apart...This almost made me cry. Did you make this video? Loved it.

  • Stanton Miranda is otherwise known as Thick Pigeon, whose album "Two Crazy Cowboys" was issued on Factory Records; the same label that Joy Division hailed from. In fact, two members of New Order play with Thick Pigeon, so this all goes hand in hand, and Stanton has her place in the fold. Never heard her cover, I like.

  • actually looking at the video clips of Stanton, this is the video for "Wheels over Indian Trails" just intercut with the JD footage.
