@jbash1970 That definitly is him, here is a video of him with Randy, but this isn't a great one. Randy told me that he keeps several bands, depending on where in the country he will be performing, so Jimmy Bowen wouldn't be with him everywhere, and in fact, it was difficult to find a video of them togeather. I saw them together at Bean Blossom in Sept. 2011. And they sounded great. I was impressed how much they sounded like the origional Country Gentlemen.
No, that is Charlie Waller, whom for 50 years led one of the most innovative bluegrass groups of all time, The Country Gentlemen. He has passed on but his son, Randy Waller is carrying the tradition by continuing the group
One of my all time favorite songs by one of my all time favorite lead singers and groups. I wish I had remembered this song for my wedding. Typically, live audio creates a recording difficulty, so I wish the studio version were also on u tube. These skilled professionals maintain correct distance from mikes for balanced volume, but because of proximity effect considerations, the lead is based out while back up vocals are too sharp. Good to have video though...Thanks
This is so lovely, great singing and brilliant playing, I would like to dedicate this to My Friend Glyn, it's a Special Birthday and an he is an expert on Roses.
Awesome is what this is! The Osborne Brothers are my favorites but Charlie and the Gentlemen aint far behind to me when we lost Charlie it was the greatest lose for Bluegrass music ever what a voice.
For the life of me, I'll never understand how someone could ever listen to this song and not like it. Today's "country" could never touch the beauty and passion captured in Bluegrass...
Words cannot express the Inspiration and Dedication Charlie and has bands have given to Bluegrass. He is sadly missed but he will remain in our hearts forever.
Words can't express how wonderful this song is.
