Very nice tribute video. Yes, it IS the same Frank Mills that brought us "Music Box Dancer" I had this 45 when I was 11 years old, and remembered the flipside was just as good. A wonderful song about dealing with love lost - forever. Truly, IF you ever REALLY LOVED someone - how, indeed , could you ever leave? It is a a very hurtful thing to be walked out on just when you need this person tthe most. How in the world can you be treated like a princess for twenty plus years only to be left? It has happened to me and I understand now about the problems this person had and they were no longer capable of rational. thought. I am well over it and sorry for this person.

Thanks for the great video, I remember this song from late '71 when I heard it on CKWW, I didn't know that it made the U.S. singles charts until recently. At that time CKWW also played the instrumental version of this song. I was wonderig if you have this, and was it the flip of the vocal version?

I loved this song when it first came out and I thought "Poor Little Fool" was almost as good. Several years later some of my friends started raving about this new song called "Music Box Dancer" by Frank Mills. I couldn't wait to hear it (since I loved both his earlier singles). When I finally did hear it, all I could think was "Is this the same Frank Mills? Why isn't he singing?" Personally, I was never crazy about "Music Box Dancer." To me, his finest recording is "Love Me Love Me Love."

I'm confused about who sings this song. Is it THE Frank Mills? As in...Music Box Dancer, Frank Mills? THE Canadian Frank Mills? I have most of his albums, and wasn't aware he performed a song vocally.

Wikipedia says: Mills worked as a pianist for CBC-TV[1] and recorded his first solo album, 'Seven Of My Songs', which produced the hit single "Love Me, Love Me Love." The song made its debut on the Canadian charts in October 1971 and early the following year peaked at #46 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #8 on Billboard's Easy Listening chart... Looks like you have 1 more albums to buy OR you can just come back here as often as you want to hear it!

@guynextdoor4u Wow....well, that's my "News Of The Day"! I'm 39 years old....born & raised in Canada, and I NEVER knew he sang anything. My mom & dad are big fans, and I always bring my albums with me when I visit them. I'm planning on seeing them again in March or April...can't wait to spring this one on them! I contacted Mr. Mills last year and told him how important his music was to my family. Next thing I know, he mailed me an AUTOGRAPHED copy of his last album (2000 Live performance)!

@ThirdOfJune4444 This song was a favorite of mine as a kid as well but when I got older nobody had EVER heard of it! When I rediscovered it I just HAD to create a video worthy of it (even though it meant looking at 100,000 depression era pictures to do so...)

Nevertheless, he's a talented vocalist! A shame he retired in 2000 but we can't all be working forever, I suppose. That's my shocking news of the day...WOW! Thanks for putting this togeather. It's one of those songs that was on the airwaves constantly in 1972 and then you never heard it again. A bit on the sappy side but so melodic you gotta like it. I couldn't even remember the name of it or the composer so when I stumbled on an old Frank Mills record that had it I had to smile. Thanks again.

Even hearing the story brings memory of my own family's breakup. my folks were talking too loud about divorce. our house was not complete, and I heard them. eventually, they heard me crying, and came to see what was wrong. I was sure that if I went with my mom, I would never see dad again. and if I went with dad I would never see mom again. The only thing I understood was I was going to get hurt no matter what. that was 40 yrs ago, and I still cry to think of it.

This was a song I heard for a short spell during the Spring of 1972 (up in Connecticut)... and then it vanished off the charts... I did not hear it again until the 1980's when I found a copy of it at an old record store! At the time this song was on the radio, other songs played at that time I remember were "City of New Orleans"/Arlo Guthrie, "Automatically Sunshine"/Supremes, "It never rains in Southern California"/Albert Hammond and one more, "Alone again, naturally"/Gilbert O'Sullivan...
