If it doesnt... well, you are not doing it hard enough. If it doesnt hurt next day, you wasted your time at the gym. Most people dont like pain, which is undrestandable.Late night infomercial about some exercise machine that you use 3 times per week for 10 minutes sounds a LOT better option. But it doesnt work that way. People advertising the machine didnt get great body using only that machine....

Also my friend ( a girl ) was 80 kg at age of 18, very overweight. She started serious training and proper eating regime, 7 years later she won Australian body building comp, no chemicals involved. She did it, it wasnt easy but it proves it can be done.
