It's not uncommon for completely separate things to use the same music.

One of the Dragonball Z dubs used music from the Ruby-Spears Megaman cartoon, and some Earthbound/Mother music appeared in the Gameboy Camera.

I needn't even mention Totaka's song, many games he's worked on feature his little song as an easter egg, Mario Paint, Yoshi's Story, Luigi's Mansion, Pikmin Two, and as a matter of fact, Link's Awakening.
