I love this line from the description. "Only intolerant people will view this loving message as hateful." The only intolerant people I see are you people. Are Christians incapable of hearing themselves speak, incapable of hearing how much malice and hate is in the shit that comes out of their mouths? Ridiculous. "I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ." - Ghandi
@BGidolstuffz Isn't what you said an example of the pot calling the kettle black? So you're allowed to express your views and everyone else who disagrees with you needs to be quiet? Sorry, but that is the core of fascism and I don't subscribe to that ideology.
Bishop Desmond Tutu said: "We struggled against apartheid in South Africa, supported by people the world over, because black people were being blamed and made to suffer for something we could do nothing about -- our very skin. It is the same with sexual orientation. It is a given. I could not have fought against the discrimination of apartheid and not also fight against the discrimination that homosexuals endure, even in our churches and faith groups." He concluded: "Homophobia = Racism."
It must be terrifying for Lively, living on a rapidly shrinking island of hate in which waves of tolerance and equality are eroding his comfortable place on Prejudice Island. But he finds plenty of new markets in the Third World, where science and medicine are rare perks for far too many. He is a hero to the Martin Ssempa's who offer a gospel of hate, fear, lies and grandiosity of ego. But his thesis that gays are the boogeyman is laughable in the western world where science is available.
"Bob believes that his homosexuality was a search for male affection and connection that had its origins in the lack of a childhood relationship with his father. He was much closer to his mother. When he began in his late teens to work and relate with his father for the first time, he believes he gained something from the relationship that led to a lessening of his desire for other men." mygenes.co.nz/PDFs/Ch12.pdf
@crossedmymind2 You are wasting your time putting up anecdotes from a student newspaper. And that old theory that it is a Daddy issue has been demolished by scientists. You are living in the stone age, brother.
Paul Ehrlich of "Population Bomb fame, also promoted homosexuality in the early 60's to prevent population growth - he also wanted to put sterilants in the water supply to prevent births, but only those that would sterilize women! Psychopathic behavior masked as benevolence.
@crossedmymind2 So, one dead guy who was a whack job over 4 decades ago is justification for your prejudice? Do you really think that kook makes it alright for you to defend the last legal discrimination against a minority group you don't like?
One of the strongest arguments against homosexuality as an inborn, unalterable condition is change in sexual orientation. In this chapter we describe how the scientific literature shows that sexual orientation is not fixed but fluid.People move around on the homosexual-heterosexual continuum to a surprising degree in both directions, but a far greater proportion of homosexuals become heterosexual than heterosexuals become homosexual.mygenes.co.nz/PDFs/Ch12.pdf
@crossedmymind2: THERE IS NO EVIDENCE ANYONE EVER CHANGES SEXUAL ORIENTATION BY CHOICE, INCLUDING PRAYERFULLY. Just last month the current president of the oldest and largest ex-gay ministry, Exodus International, admitted that 99.9% of gays in his organization have not changed from gay to straight (Google Exodus admits gays don't change). Every medical association concurs: orientation is not chosen and not changeable at will.
Last year the past leader of Love in Action, the Focus on the Family created ex-gay ministry also admitted no gays ever turn straight. John Smid admited he is still gay, just as Alan Chambers of Exodus admitted he is still same-sex attracted. NO HOMOSEXUALS TURN HETEROSEXUAL except in the fantasies of those who wish it were so.
Dr. Dobson touted John Paulk as "proof" of change from gay to straight, and Paulk literally wrote the book on orientation change. But then he was photographed flirting in a gay bar and fired from Dobson's organization. The co-founders of Exodus left when they fell in love with one another, and public apologies have come to the gay community from many ex-gay leaders, who admit they did not change and nobody did.
So-called "reparative therapy" (which is actually neither) has been proven ineffective at best, and dangerous at worst, including suicide. The few organizations which claim the evidence that homosexuality is a choice are those who were set up with that conclusion BEFORE they did their research, the very definition of "prejudice."
@writerJerome mygenes.co.nz/PDFs/Ch12.pdf "People move around on the
homosexual-heterosexual continuum to a surprising degree in both directions, but a far greater proportion of homosexuals become heterosexual than heterosexuals become homosexual"
@crossedmymind2 That student paper you reference has research that is 20 years or older. Doctors can now see differences in brains of heterosexual and homosexual people, and brain scans of fetuses show the role of hormones as they set up the structure of sexual orientation (and many other things) in utero. Some people are born gay. Think about it, could you turn yourself gay? Of course not. A gay cannot turn straight. We are all as God made us. If your child is gay, love them.
@writerJerome Chicken or egg. The same also states the brain changes could also be attributed to behavior - smokers, alcoholics all experiences changes in the brain as do children who play violent video games.
@writerJerome So is psychopathology, ADHD, FASD, OCD, and a host of others. So they took brain images of fetuses and then waited 15 or 16 years to see who turned out gay? The study you speak of has not been accepted by the majority of the scientific community btw.
EAEC, - Scott Lively's thesis that one minority group is to blame for the demise of all that is good on the planet and will cause the end of the world to happen is pure scapegoating conspiracy stuff you can find against Jews, blacks, Mormons, the Trilateral Council, the United Nations, etc. Lively's works are not published by any professional publisher, including ultra-conservative ones, universities look at his rants the way most people look at Westboro Baptist "church."
Torell is proof of what I said. He does buy into many of those other theories, too, according to news reports (Google Lively and Torrel). Torrel is a collector of conspiracy theories.
@writerJerome "There is no consensus among scientists about the exact reasons that an individual develops a heterosexual, bisexual, gay or lesbian orientation. Although much research has examined the possible genetic, hormonal, developmental, social, and cultural influences on sexual orientation, no findings have emerged that permit scientists to conclude that sexual orientation is determined by any particular factor or factors. Many think that nature and nurture both play..."
@crossedmymind2 Your argument makes a better case to stop persecuting gays and trying to force them to be what you think they should be than it "proves" gays can just change if they make that choice. When did you choose to make yourself straight? You didn't, of course, it was just part of you. And homosexuality is just as innate for others as heterosexuality is for most of us.
@writerJerome Since when is sexual fluidity and the science/proof behind it can be deemed persecution? I merely posted quotes from sources including the APA - the authority on sexual orientation and sexuality.
@crossedmymind2 PERSECUTION is the vicious assaults, beatings, torture, discrimination, public outing and vigilante justice including "corrective" rapes of lesbians by straight men to "show them" how to be straight. All of these things are coming about in the wake of Scott Lively's hate crimes. And you misrepresent the APA's position on fluidity in which they offer overwhelming evidence nobody chooses orientation or changes it at will.
Lively misrepresents the gay agenda, which is EQUALITY. All gay people want is to have the last legal discrimination against them removed under civil laws. Lively does the same thing to gays that Hitler did to Jews, using them as the scapegoat for all the world's problems. And Torell loves conspiracy theories, which is why he falls for Lively's hate speech.
@writerJerome If I create counterfeit money and present it as real, will the US Treasury Dept. accept it as such? No. You're asking society to give you equality when a family is based upon two people of the opposite sex. I don't care how much love there is between two homosexual's, they simply can't procreate. Even an evolutionist would agree that's a way of weeding out the fittest from the weak. I'll be waiting for humans to "evolve" and prove me wrong.
@EAECvideos What a silly analogy. And it's hilarious that you who don't believe in evolution always use it as your argument even though you get it wrong every time. Evolution shows there is a useful purpose for having some homosexuality in each species (i.e. having help nurturing the young), and that is why SCIENTISTS HAVE FOUND HOMOSEXUALITY IN EVERY ANIMAL SPECIES STUDIED, 1,600 SO FAR, SO GOD IS THE AUTHOR OF HOMOSEXUALITY IN ALL OF CREATION..
@writerJerome The penguins weren't gay after-all. When placed in a zoo with other penguins of the opposite gender, they chose the opposite gender to mate with. People have been having sex with animals since the beginning of time too.
@crossedmymind2 Are you talking about Buddy and Pedro from the Toronto Zoo? They loved each other totally, and there is no evidence they stopped loving one another. Penguins are very committed to their mates. Buddy did mate with females after a period of being separated from Pedro (the way men will have sex with men in prison), but Pedro is still waiting for his beloved.
@EAECvideos Glad you had a good laugh... :-) Now, if only you would lighten up about this topic altogether. Here's a joke for you that comes from Rick Santorum's money man, Foster Friess: A liberal, a conservative and a moderate walk into a bar, and do you know what the bartender said? "Hello, Mitt."
@writerJerome Heterosexuals are equally beaten, raped, and bullied. I have no problem with civil unions and pension, healthcare rights etc.,for homosexuals. Marriage, however, is btwn a man and a women.
Now that I have finished my views on Revs. Lively and Torell, let me point out I am not some atheist agitator. I am an ordained Christian minister who has been a pastor and works with homeless people in a ministry which helps feed them, clothe them, find them housing and share the Gospel of Jesus, the real Gospel, not this conspiracy nonsense. I am a born-again Christian who sees Torell and Lively as the cultists. I will keep them in my prayers. God bless you.
@writerJerome You are welcome to make your own comments but plagiarizing someone else will not be accepted. You should know better than violating God's commandments (# 8) because that hurts your testimony and calls into question your integrity.
@EAECvideos There are no words I have posted here but my own since you struck the few paragraphs I found online. You are right that I should have made the citation, For that I apologize. The points you struck out were the ones about Rev. Torell being a believer in many conspiracy theories, especially those involving Jews. He also classifies as cults many other branches of Christianity, including Catholicism, per an online article by Jim Burroway, an analysis of Torell's sermons.
@writerJerome You are deeply deluded. The Gospel of Jesus Christ condemns all sexual sin, most especially homosexuality. You are a heretic in the service of the devil (a spiritual "useful idiot" for Satan), at war with authentic Christians. Repent.
@RipVanMango Nonsense. You are using a few isolated verses to try to override modern medicine. That is what cults do. Face it, even you don't do that with any area of medicine except when it comes to the one tiny minority group you are prejudiced against.
@RipVanMango Yes, I saw Scott Lively admit in a Current TV interview that he supports the "Kill the Gays" bill in Uganda with the death penalty. He did say he advised taking that out, but that he reluctantly supports the bill with the provision to execute intact as better than being too soft on gays. That bill also requires the arrest of any straight person who fails to immediately report a suspected gay. That is a hateful witch hunt.
If there was a truth in advertising law for preachers, Scott Lively would have to change his name to Scott Deadly. Blood is on his hands in the Third World, where his conspiracy theories are leading to vigilante attacks on gays and "corrective" rapes of lesbians, to laws imprisoning GLBT people and those who are falsely accused of being gay by their enemies and business competitors. Not to mention the arrest of straights who fail to report gays. The new witch hunt is on.
@amylnitrateify You need to get a better grasp of the English language before you start improperly throwing around words like misogyny. How do Christians hate women? Go spew your vitriolic litany somewhere else.
If you Google Scott Lively, you will see he has physically assaulted a woman in a church, striking her and knocking her to the floor. The injuries were serious enough that the woman was granted over $31,000 in compensation from Lively. Why is anyone listening to this man?
@writerJerome Scott ejected a lesbian journalist from a private political meeting without violence of any kind. She sued him in civil court for battery after the DA refused to prosecute because she admitted to criminal trespass, making her ejection perfectly legal and justified. The bogus lawsuit would have been thrown out of any other court but this was during the anti-homosexuality Ballot Measure 9 Campaign of 1991-92 and the case became part of the opposition political strategy.
@EAECvideos I'm sure that is what Lively told you, but the court and independent journalists, as well as the woman assaulted and her witnesses, all see it differently. She was not granted a large settlement because she was asked to leave the room. The judge believed that she was physically struck by Lively. Do your opponents mention it? Sure, and they are correct.
@writerJerome Why didn't the DA prosecute him if there was so much evidence? Because there wasn't sufficient evidence. The judge believes... yes so that means it was true because a judge has a feeling... They can also be biased as in the case of Judge Walker and the CA Prop. 8 case. Let's stick with evidence, not beliefs or feelings.
@writerJerome I tried to send you a personal message but your account is locked down and won't allow it. I have a couple questions unrelated to this post. You can write me or unlock your account so I can contact you.
@amylnitrateify The key aspect of fascism is the suppression of opposing views. We still have the first amendment and religious freedom in America. As for Europe, they're so open minded that their brains have fallen out. If you admire them, this just shows your mentality.
Scott Lively speaks about gays in even more extreme terms than Hitler spoke about Jews. Hitler claimed the Jews had a worldwide conspiracy, but Lively claims gays are going to do worse by causing the end of the world.
Defend the Family (by arresting and attacking and killing gay people) is evil beyond any garden-variety sinner. It is built upon such rigid misinformation that it ends up calling hate "love", lies "truth", false promises "therapy", modern medicine "junk science", Baptist screeds against gays "peer-reviewed science of the mainstream", and it must constantly close its ears to the clear truth of Alan Chambers, the president of Exodus, admitting last month they cannot change any gay to straight.
@eddy909100 Did you watch the video? You are either ignorant of the message or a liar. Only an intolerant person, failing at civil discourse, will claim this loving message is hateful. Shame on you for your bigotry. What about the rights of others who don't share your viewpoint? Isn't that the battle cry of LGBT community... equal rights...but then tolerance is a one-way street for you?
@EAECvideos The video and Scott lively make me want too puke my guts... he wants gay people arrested and jailed.. he's a self hating homo.. you people are disgusting hatemongers all using the bible too bash gays!
Gee, get a life, instead of trying too destroy gay people with all your fucked up lies... why help your fellow man?, lots of hungry people in this country... all this wasted time and energy on hate!
Scot nails this one on the head. There are many threats to religious liberty, and the rise of homosexuality as a political force is clearly bent on negating any public approbation (disapproval) of homosexuality, by force of law. To silence one's beliefs from being spoken is to negate free speech. We disagree with each other all the time and it is not hate speech. We disagree on what is legal or not, whether abortion is murder, and etc. But homosexuals don't want to allow public disapproval.
@eddy909100 No, just stop the persecution. Anti-gay discrimination is the last legal prejudice to fall. Young people today support equality for gays, including in marriage, by over 80%. The young see your views on gays the way you see your grandparents' views on sex.
@crossedmymind2 You lie about that by purposely misrepresenting. The APA expressly says nobody chooses his sexual orientation or changes it at will. The only fluidity is from internal bisexuality, not choices one can make.
@YewTewbYewzer The entire gay agenda fits into one single word: equality. Gay people just want to be treated like everyone else, including under the civil laws of our nation. And even if gays are deemed to be sinners in your eyes, so is everyone else. All have sinned... Jesus never commanded His disciples to cure sin via civil laws. Gays are being used as a wedge issue to get you to vote for the rich people's agenda of tax cuts for them and spending cuts to the poor.
Homosexuality is a choice lifestyle! And the truth is..God Himself will banish these perverts to an everlasting destruction in the lake of fire called hell! The sad thing is hell was intended for satan and his demons; Homosexuals can get their lives right before God just as any sinner can! Through Christ! But the other sad thing is, homosexuals just love their carnality, like those involved in paedophilia, pornography and are careless about their souls!
@EAECvideos I guess I choose too live an honest life and not too choose too lie about my sexuality.. until you've walked in my shoes you DON'T SPEAK FOR ME!
@findingJesustrue Nonsense, I chose to be straight, but not only did I not change after 22 years of ex-gay ministry and Christian therapy, but nobody did. Last month current Exodus president Alan Chambers admitted they can't turn anyone from gay to straight. And just think about it, when did you "choose" to be straight? Homosexuals are no more carnal than heterosexuals. Trying to tie them into those other things is pure lying worthy of the lies told about Jews in Germany.
@writerJerome That daily show is nothing but mockery, but there actually is an interview that fits his description (in your face and a shocker to liberals). Also by a hostile interviewer but not edited to ridicule like the daily show. Go to Current TV and type in Scott Lively and choose Scott Lively, Father of Uganda's "Pro-Family" Movement: Vanguard Extended Interview. The other choices are heavily edited pro-homosexual propaganda but this one is fairly straightforward.
@RipVanMango I saw the interview you recommend. Lively endorsed the execution of gays in the "Kill the gays" bill in Uganda which has just been presented again. You are advising people to watch an interview which supports arresting gays, any straight person who does not report them immediately, and admiring the man who "inspired" vigilante attacks, beatings and murder. But, other people should know the Daily Show interview with Scott Lively shows his lies are hate not facts.
@writerJerome You are a homosexualist and a liar. But I repeat myself. Search Uganda at defendthefamily (dot com) for the truth directly from the source.
@writerJerome Sodomites invented "homosexual" to define their condition as a medical one, then stole "gay" to put a false face on the disorder. You all stop using those first. Meanwhile, we'll keep defining a homosexualist as a person who promotes homosexuality as aggressively as a "gay" activist, whether or not they are "gay." That defines you to a "t."
@RipVanMango This shows your ignorance and malice. The word "homosexuality" is a medical term created over a century ago, long before the gay rights movement was even conceived, but a couple thousand years after the Bible was written. Another example you don't know what you are talking about is that you use a made-up word, "Homosexualist" which the Merriam-Webster Dictionary lists as "a misspelling or typo." THE ONLY GAY AGENDA IS EQUALITY..
@writerJerome For a sold-out homosexualist you sure don't know your "gay" history. The word "homosexual" was coined by a playmate of Karl Ulrichs, the "grandfather of gay rights" in 1869. The Bible simply adopted this new synonym for Sodomite after it had become part of the common language.
@writerJerome lol. It is the daily show that shows hate, not facts. Did you notice not a single piece of evidence was included in the piece? But the book in question is heavily documented. How could they do an entire show about a book and not examine a single fact in support of its thesis?? It was all just mockery of the premise. Very dishonest.
Homosexuality has been around forever. You can't preach it, teach it or legislate it out of existence. Millions of people before you have tried and failed. Besides, you heterosexuals will just keep making more of us.
@SouthernR0cker4Life Everyone has a biased world view, including you. You take exception to a Biblical worldview that calls homosexuality a moral failure. It is a life of rebellion that leads nowhere, as in no progeny, and you want to argue that condemning this lifestyle is somehow prejudice and bias? Get real.
@EAECvideos Lively is a hatemonger, his ridiculous book "Pink Triangles" tries too make the arguement that the Nazi's were a gay orgnization.. when in fact the Nazi's despised homosexuals and sent them too concentration camps. Lively, Peter La Barbara and other anti gay bigots are nothing but a bunch of self hating gay men, who want other proud, self accepting gay men too be miserable and eventually too be put too death..
@EAECvideos It's not a lifestyle. That's somebody who does civil war re-enactments or golf. Science shows that biology is the cause of homosexuality in a percentage of the 1,600 animal species studied, including humans. Genetics combined with hormones in utero cause sexual orientation. Google gay brains fetus scans. Also, there is no "cure" for homosexuality. Google ex-gay does not equal straight.
@writerJerome That's funny because science has proven through the human genome project that there is no gay gene. Anything else you want to talk about is pseudo-science or speculation. So if people are not born that way, homosexuality is a choice and an aberrant behavior. The cure is God; most will mock that answer but true nevertheless. There is nothing that is impossible for our Creator. The only limitation is man. Don't put God in a box.
@EAECvideos The gay gene has been proven in animals studied (Google Fox News gay gene - I used a conservative news source for your sake), but today doctors using brain scans can see with their own eyes the formation of the parts of the brain which are different in fetuses which will grow up to be gay. There are some excellent long-term studies now. But scientists do not speak in the absolutes of zealots.
@EAECvideos God is not the one who is against gays. God made gays in the womb, and has never "cured" a gay because different sexual orientations are gifts from God with a strict no-return policy. The same God who gave us wisdom in the Bible gives us modern medicine. All of us have been challenged to break out of our old boxes, the invisible limitations of our own culture and prejudice. Read real science, there is overwhelming evidence sexual orientation is not chosen, not changeable.
He is absolutely right; he is scriptural and his preaching on this subject will be vindicated by God Himself at the judgment seat of Christ!
Homosexuals be warned! Hear this man and you will be hearing God on the issue of your wickedness and you will have no excuse!
Homosexual! I can live without your homosexuality forever; that is because you cannot be a homosexual in heaven but God's Word will tell you that you'll not be enjoying homosexuality in hellfire either! Carnality perishes at death!
@findingJesustrue The Bible did not address "Homosexuality," a modern medical term only a century old. The word "homosexuality" NEVER appeared in any American Bibles until AFTER "homosexuality" was removed from the APA's list of disorders in 1973. It was added as the culture war began and this year the NIV changed the bible words again to make an even harsher statement in the hate campaign against gays. Being gay is a gift from God and marriage is good gay or straight.
@writerJerome The Bible, while not specifically mentioning homosexuality by name, has plenty to say on the subject. You're a deluded person if you think the Bible doesn't condemn that rebellious lifestyle. Homosexuality is not a gift from God but from Satan. You only need to look to the garden of Eden to see that God created Adam & Eve, not Adam & Steve. Saying it is a gift is really wishful thinking on your part.
@writerJerome I have a Bible pre 1973 and it uses the term homosexuality, so you're lying period. APA has accepted sexual fluidity as the standard for sexual orientation which essential boils down to choice. Even the gay community accepts sexual fluidity especially lesbians and bi-sexuals.
@flylikeIdo1 It is a reasonable question! Thanks for posting it!
Priests are quite simply unregenerate by nature and some pastors too. They play at Christianity because they get paid good money for it! They play with fire; play with temptation! These do not belong to God at all! They are all hypocrits! Their damnation will be very great! Parents need to be wise as to what they introduce their children to; religious practice is not God's way, especially Roman Catholicsm;
Thank God for all those faithful souls who will not bow to ba'al. God detests all manner of wickedness and the proof for that - a lake that burns eternally with fire which God has prepared for satan and all his angels, and all those who hate Him and His Word! Homosexuality is an ungodly lifestyle; perverse and all homosexuals are going to perish unless they repent of their wickedness! This is NOT bigotry! THIS IS GOD's RIGHT to keep sin out of His glorious presence and His Kingdom! Be warned!
@findingJesustrue ba'al? You mean the god of "the rain, thunder, fertility and agriculture"? Uh, why would you hate a god like that? And why would you think a god would give a rats ass if you bow to them. They are all powerful, I doubt they care for the same reason I doubt you would care if an ant prayed to you.
"Nobody knows anything" - Including the speaker. This guy is an idiot. Is this all it takes to convince religious people of things? Making baseless accusations of no merit?
@EAECvideos Your point of reference is significantly less fixed than mine. You see, my point of reference is based on demonstrable evidence - evidence that does not change... How many changes has the bible been through? How many changes of 'interpretation'. Yes, one of us is without a fixed point of reference, but it isn't me.
humbertesque -hmm the GREEKS? Those pedophiles and pederasts? God wiped them out 1000's of years ago. Like Sodom and Gommorah. And no, western culture was not founded on Greek philosophy but the BIble! As that is now being tossed out the west is already in serious decline!
@cabaretewilliam You are sadly misinformed. Western civilization came from the construct of the Republic, and no biblical civilization had a republic. The bible advocates monarchy, and theocracy, and gives no reference to representative democracy.
@cabaretewilliam Also the greeks were never wiped out, they still exist just as much as any other race of people. Being incorporated into a larger government does not mean they were 'wiped out'... That's like saying that the south was wiped out because they lost the civil war... silly religious person.
Thinking about the arguement of the false claim of the of the "unchangable gay way /gene". If that was the case they have an unneeded organ, the testicles as they are not used for reproduction. By removing them they also may temper their desire for multiple encounters and slow the miserable spread of STDs, and national medical care costs.
Every 10 years or so a new level of apostasy hits the US /world from divorce in the fifties to free love/ fornication, drugs ,God out of the schools, a majority of children out of wedlock, to pornography, and homosexuality, and moral division of the legislative ,judicial, and executive branches of an, " In God We Trust" nation. Like a person who gets caught by a new moon night we are a nation stumbling in the dark.
When the term bigot is used by those who are intolerant and don't know how to respond to the truth, it proves that Pastor Lively's message is right on the money. He offers the scriptures as the source of reason. Notice there is no argument made here that tries to show the Bible says otherwise.
Thanks be to God for Pastor Lively's truthful preaching about homosexuality, instead of tickling ears. Homosexuality is a far greater and egregious sin than many others. and I applaud his courage and boldness in saying so.
@ancillayt Compare Lively to Bishop Tutu who said: We struggled against apartheid in South Africa, supported by people the world over, because black people were being blamed and made to suffer for something we could do nothing about -- our very skin. It is the same with sexual orientation. It is a given. I could not have fought against the discrimination of apartheid and not also fight against the discrimination that homosexuals endure, even in our churches and faith groups.
The behavior of those who interrupted this preacher's message just because they disagreed with it is totally disgusting. This is one of the reasons why their movement is a complete joke! They don't know what tolerance really mean!
@sexonnaplatter Glad you liked the music but did you get beyond that? You may disagree with Scott, but did you detect any vitriolic litany coming from his mouth? I found this to message to be firm and loving, certainly not hateful and bigoted.
LOVING? Uh, no, sorry. I'd liken it more to something I saw on television two decades ago. Whoopi Goldberg had a one-on-one format with various guests. On one episode she interviewed former Klan leader and White Aryan Resistance leader Tom Metzger. Metzger was nothing but polite and cordial to Goldberg, and with the sound off it probably looked like two good friends chatting. But despite Metzger's genial and pleasant demeanor was an unmistakable underlying message of hate--just like here.
@sexonnaplatter The KKK hates different cultures and skin colors; this is unfortunate because a person can't change the way they are born. Homosexuality is different because it is a choice. You are filtering Scott's message through a lens of bias and calling it hate. Homosexuality is rebellion against your Creator, who has stated that He doesn't approve of a lifestyle that is contrary to His design. Calling it hate won't silence your conscience.
Oh, so if black people COULD change, that would be more fortunate? Maybe Michael Jackson was on to something. As for choice, funny how I and my other heterosexual friends have no recollection of making such a choice. But even if it were a choice, it is one that God would wholeheartedly endorse, for God is love. Therefore, my conscience is clear. You, on the other hand, must live w/ it every time words are used to bully, every time those people picket funerals, and for eevry sham marriage.
@sexonnaplatter You "have no recollection of making such a choice" to be a heterosexual? Congratulations, that's because you're following the natural order of things. You're delusional if you think God is ok with a deviant lifestyle. God is love but He's not going to contradict Himself. He views homosexuality with extreme disgust. Cherry picking that "God is love" is not a logical argument and dishonest. God has stated that it is a sin; trying to justify it doesn't make it ok.
I could just as easily call you delusional--and certainly more of a "cherry picker" than I, unless of course you own slaves, practice incest, kill disobedient children, have a floor-length beard, etc., etc. Now I know you fundamentalists have an scriptural equation in your minds where all that other bad stuff goes away but the anti-gay stuff stays, but all you're doing is finding an equation to justify your sin of bigotry, which doesn't make it okay.
@sexonnaplatter You seem to think that you understand the moral, practical and sacrificial laws of the Bible and what portions were done away with under the Second Covenant? I'm sure that if you understood the difference between the theocracy and kingly government you wouldn't have hit me with those examples. Not looking to educate you but you're fish out of water.
No, that's just it; I don't understand it--at least not the way it has "explained" to me by fundamentalists. I get where they're going, I just don't arrive at their destination. I have had it explained to me by two different clergymen--one with a doctorate in theology and the smartest biblical scholar I've come across--who do not come to the same conclusion. But that is because they are not fundamentalists, and they aren't because they know too much about the contradictions in Scripture.
@sexonnaplatter "Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus." (Acts 4:13) Education doesn't matter; it's a matter of having a personal relationship with God. When faced with a contradiction, ask God to explain it to you. That is what the early Christians did, it works for me, and it can work for you too.
@EAECvideos Homosexuality is not a choice, and modern psychology unanimously agrees upon this as a fact. If it is a choice, why do homosexuals commit suicide as a result of their sexual orientation? I know that you can't satisfactorily answer that question because, quite plainly, you're absolutely wrong. If you consider yourself intellectually honest, then I challenge you.
@humbertesque I esteem "modern psychology" as much as you do the Bible. Science has proven no one is born gay, modern psychology needs to catch up. Heterosexual's also commit suicide, so that is non-argument. I don't know why you think the burden of proof is against me when this lifestyle is clearly in rebellion to the natural order of things. Show me a homosexual civilization that existed beyond one generation? It's a choice and a deviant lifestyle. That's not hate, just truth.
@EAECvideos A homosexual civilization that existed beyond one generation? That'd be the Greeks. You know, the progenitors of the western culture that eventually created Christianity. They considered homosexual relationships "love" and heterosexual relationships "procreation". Science has not "proven" that nobody is born gay; what science has proven is that the issue is complex, and that genetics do play a role, although they are not necessarily causal and nobody is trying to argue so
@humbertesque I tried to reply to your challenge via private message but got an error. Here is my answer: The human genome project has proven that no one is born gay; since it isn't part of our genetic make up, that would make it a lifestyle choice. Hopefully my response was scientific enough for you?
@humbertesque The same unanimity that exist among climate scientists and the notion of climate change or global warming right. The same lie - there is no unanimity period.
@sexonnaplatter offers the old anti-homosexuality = racism cannard. Metzker's racism is irrational and unjustifiable because skin color and ethnicity are morally neutral criteria. But homosexuality is a form of voluntary sexual conduct with profound moral and public health consequences. Discriminating against a person because of their skin color is stupid and uncivilized. Discriminating based on a person's practice of sexual perverion is intelligent and socially responsible.
"Homosexuality is a form of voluntary sexual conduct with profound moral and public health consequences" -- and so is heterosexuality. Worldwide, far more heterosexuals spread "health consequences" far more. Furthermore, there is not one single sexual behavior that gay people practice that is not also practiced by heterosexual people. I know I'm not going to change any minds here, but just putting it out there.
@sexonnaplatter Thank you for the implicit concession that race and sexual conduct are not equivalent. But you're mistaken if you think Christians oppose only homosexual perversion. All sex outside of Biblical marriage is condemned by God and should be discouraged by civil society. Only sex in marriage is sanctified by God and beneficial for both individuals and society. If we all actually did as He instructs re sex this world would be a vastly safer, healthier and happier place.
Christians don't all oppose homosexuality, only "Christians" do. Only those "Christians" who refuse to acknowledge that certain Bible verses that were products of their time and not true to the overall message of Christianity. I know, because I used to be one of those "Christians" who speak an behave in a very un-Christlike manner. (See video.) The stronger my faith has grown, the surer I am ever day that condemning homosexuality is the 100% wrong answer to the question, "What Would Jesus Do?"
@sexonnaplatter The God of the Old Testament is the same God of the New Testament. Jesus walked in the Garden of Eden and gave the laws of the Old Testament. He arrived in human form in the New Testament and told us that he didn't come to abolish the old laws but to fulfill. The only thing he fulfilled was the sacrificial part of the law. You show your ignorance of the Scriptures when you ask "What Would Jesus Do." God is not going oppose himself.
As I said above, I do not claim to be an expert but I have heard many interpretations of the connection of the OT and NT. As for showing ignorance, I have seen no greater ignorance than from "Christians" who refuse to accept interpretations contrary to translations they've stuck with for years no matter how much more sense they make or how much more true to the overall message of of God they are. And all that does it give more evidence that they don't speak for God and never have.
@RipVanMango Using the word 'God' and 'civil society' is an oxymoron. We already had a civilization 'under God', and it resulted in 1500 years of dark ages. We don't need to try that again...
How many times does it need to be said? Is it really that hard to just leave the gays alone and continue to live your life out on this earth? Every single creature on this planet deserves happiness and prosperity for as long as they live here. Hypothetical question, and no offense to anyone, but as a Christian would you really want to "save" a heathen that has conducted numerous amounts of lewd acts with other men and spend an eternity with that person in Heaven? I imagine plenty would not.
@Dav3Th3Rav3 I appreciate your comments but you don't understand Christianity. It's not about happiness and prosperity when there is a moral lawgiver that has stated what is acceptable in His creation. As for your question, every Christian was once a heathen, some more, others less, but the same nevertheless. Sin is a choice. There is no gay gene, with the decoding of the human genome, science has proven homosexuality is a choice. You would be welcome in our church.

One of the strongest arguments against homosexuality as an inborn, unalterable condition is change in sexual orientation. In this chapter we describe how the scientific literature shows that sexual orientation is not fixed but fluid.People move around on the homosexual-heterosexual continuum to a surprising degree in both directions, but a far greater proportion of homosexuals become heterosexual than heterosexuals become homosexual.mygenes.co.nz/PDFs/Ch12.pdf
crossedmymind2 3 weeks ago
@crossedmymind2: THERE IS NO EVIDENCE ANYONE EVER CHANGES SEXUAL ORIENTATION BY CHOICE, INCLUDING PRAYERFULLY. Just last month the current president of the oldest and largest ex-gay ministry, Exodus International, admitted that 99.9% of gays in his organization have not changed from gay to straight (Google Exodus admits gays don't change). Every medical association concurs: orientation is not chosen and not changeable at will.
writerJerome 3 weeks ago
Last year the past leader of Love in Action, the Focus on the Family created ex-gay ministry also admitted no gays ever turn straight. John Smid admited he is still gay, just as Alan Chambers of Exodus admitted he is still same-sex attracted. NO HOMOSEXUALS TURN HETEROSEXUAL except in the fantasies of those who wish it were so.
writerJerome 3 weeks ago

@crossedmymind2 Your argument makes a better case to stop persecuting gays and trying to force them to be what you think they should be than it "proves" gays can just change if they make that choice. Lively misrepresents the gay agenda, which is EQUALITY. All gay people want is to have the last legal discrimination against them removed under civil laws. And Torell loves conspiracy theories, which is why he falls for Lively's hate speech.

@writerJerome If I create counterfeit money and present it as real, will the US Treasury Dept. accept it as such? Even an evolutionist would agree that's a way of weeding out the fittest from the weak. I'll be waiting for humans to "evolve" and prove me wrong.

@EAECvideos I'm sure that is what Lively told you, but the court and independent journalists, as well as the woman assaulted and her witnesses, all see it differently.

@writerJerome Sodomites invented "homosexual" to define their condition as a medical one, then stole "gay" to put a false face on the disorder. You all stop using those first. RipVanMango 3 weeks ago
@RipVanMango This shows your ignorance and malice. The word "homosexuality" is a medical term created over a century ago, long before the gay rights movement was even conceived, but a couple thousand years after the Bible was written. @EAECvideos It's not a lifestyle. That's somebody who does civil war re-enactments or golf. Google gay brains fetus scans. Also, there is no "cure" for homosexuality. Google ex-gay does not equal straight.

@writerJerome That's funny because science has proven through the human genome project that there is no gay gene. Anything else you want to talk about is pseudo-science or speculation. @flylikeIdo1 I'm not defending Roman Catholicism but was that your best response?

Being gay is a gift from God and marriage is good gay or straight.
writerJerome 4 weeks ago
@writerJerome The Bible, while not specifically mentioning homosexuality by name, has plenty to say on the subject. You're a deluded person if you think the Bible doesn't condemn that rebellious lifestyle. Homosexuality is not a gift from God but from Satan. You only need to look to the garden of Eden to see that God created Adam & Eve, not Adam & Steve. Saying it is a gift is really wishful thinking on your part.
EAECvideos 4 weeks ago
@writerJerome I have a Bible pre 1973 and it uses the term homosexuality, so you're lying period. APA has accepted sexual fluidity as the standard for sexual orientation which essential boils down to choice. Even the gay community accepts sexual fluidity especially lesbians and bi-sexuals.

@flylikeIdo1 It is a reasonable question! Thanks for posting it!
Priests are quite simply unregenerate by nature and some pastors too. They play at Christianity because they get paid good money for it! They play with fire; play with temptation! These do not belong to God at all! They are all hypocrits! Their damnation will be very great! Parents need to be wise as to what they introduce their children to; religious practice is not God's way, especially Roman Catholicsm;
Jesus is!

@windigo77 How do you know anything? Congratulations, everything following that relative statement is meaningless.

As that is now being tossed out the west is already in serious decline!
cabaretewilliam 1 month ago
@cabaretewilliam You are sadly misinformed. Western civilization came from the construct of the Republic, and no biblical civilization had a republic. The bible advocates monarchy, and theocracy, and gives no reference to representative democracy.
windigo77 1 month ago

When the term bigot is used by those who are intolerant and don't know how to respond to the truth, it proves that Pastor Lively's message is right on the money. He offers the scriptures as the source of reason. Notice there is no argument made here that tries to show the Bible says otherwise.
sodaspop 1 month ago 3
Thanks be to God for Pastor Lively's truthful preaching about homosexuality, instead of tickling ears. Homosexuality is a far greater and egregious sin than many others. and I applaud his courage and boldness in saying so.
ancillayt 1 month ago 6

People wondering why Christians are so obsessed with homosexuals is like people wondering why soldiers are so obsessed with an invading army.
Homosexual activists demand that their view be expressed, but they then try to silence anyone who disagrees with them.

@sexonnaplatter Glad you liked the music but did you get beyond that? You may disagree with Scott, but did you detect any vitriolic litany coming from his mouth? I found this to message to be firm and loving, certainly not hateful and bigoted.
EAECvideos 1 month ago
But despite Metzger's genial and pleasant demeanor was an unmistakable underlying message of hate--just like here.
sexonnaplatter 1 month ago
@sexonnaplatter The KKK hates different cultures and skin colors; this is unfortunate because a person can't change the way they are born. Homosexuality is different because it is a choice. You are filtering Scott's message through a lens of bias and calling it hate. Homosexuality is rebellion against your Creator, who has stated that He doesn't approve of a lifestyle that is contrary to His design. Calling it hate won't silence your conscience.
EAECvideos 1 month ago 3
Oh, so if black people COULD change, that would be more fortunate? Maybe Michael Jackson was on to something. As for choice, funny how I and my other heterosexual friends have no recollection of making such a choice. But even if it were a choice, it is one that God would wholeheartedly endorse, for God is love. Therefore, my conscience is clear. You, on the other hand, must live w/ it every time words are used to bully, every time those people picket funerals, and for eevry sham marriage.
sexonnaplatter 1 month ago
@sexonnaplatter You "have no recollection of making such a choice" to be a heterosexual? Congratulations, that's because you're following the natural order of things. You're delusional if you think God is ok with a deviant lifestyle. God is love but He's not going to contradict Himself. He views homosexuality with extreme disgust. Cherry picking that "God is love" is not a logical argument and dishonest. God has stated that it is a sin; trying to justify it doesn't make it ok.
EAECvideos 1 month ago
I could just as easily call you delusional--and certainly more of a "cherry picker" than I, unless of course you own slaves, practice incest, kill disobedient children, have a floor-length beard, etc., etc. Now I know you fundamentalists have an scriptural equation in your minds where all that other bad stuff goes away but the anti-gay stuff stays, but all you're doing is finding an equation to justify your sin of bigotry, which doesn't make it okay.
sexonnaplatter 1 month ago 2
@sexonnaplatter You seem to think that you understand the moral, practical and sacrificial laws of the Bible and what portions were done away with under the Second Covenant? I'm sure that if you understood the difference between the theocracy and kingly government you wouldn't have hit me with those examples. Not looking to educate you but you're fish out of water.
EAECvideos 1 month ago
No, that's just it; I don't understand it--at least not the way it has "explained" to me by fundamentalists. I get where they're going, I just don't arrive at their destination. I have had it explained to me by two different clergymen--one with a doctorate in theology and the smartest biblical scholar I've come across--who do not come to the same conclusion. But that is because they are not fundamentalists, and they aren't because they know too much about the contradictions in Scripture.
sexonnaplatter 1 month ago

If you consider yourself intellectually honest, then I challenge you.
humbertesque 1 month ago 3
@humbertesque I esteem "modern psychology" as much as you do the Bible. Science has proven no one is born gay, modern psychology needs to catch up. Heterosexual's also commit suicide, so that is non-argument. I don't know why you think the burden of proof is against me when this lifestyle is clearly in rebellion to the natural order of things. Show me a homosexual civilization that existed beyond one generation? It's a choice and a deviant lifestyle. That's not hate, just truth.
EAECvideos 1 month ago

RipVanMango 1 month ago
"Homosexuality is a form of voluntary sexual conduct with profound moral and public health consequences" -- and so is heterosexuality. Worldwide, far more heterosexuals spread "health consequences" far more. Furthermore, there is not one single sexual behavior that gay people practice that is not also practiced by heterosexual people. I know I'm not going to change any minds here, but just putting it out there.
sexonnaplatter 1 month ago
@sexonnaplatter Thank you for the implicit concession that race and sexual conduct are not equivalent. But you're mistaken if you think Christians oppose only homosexual perversion. All sex outside of Biblical marriage is condemned by God and should be discouraged by civil society. Only sex in marriage is sanctified by God and beneficial for both individuals and society. If we all actually did as He instructs re sex this world would be a vastly safer, healthier and happier place.
RipVanMango 1 month ago
Christians don't all oppose homosexuality, only "Christians" do. Only those "Christians" who refuse to acknowledge that certain Bible verses that were products of their time and not true to the overall message of Christianity. I know, because I used to be one of those "Christians" who speak an behave in a very un-Christlike manner. (See video.) The stronger my faith has grown, the surer I am ever day that condemning homosexuality is the 100% wrong answer to the question, "What Would Jesus Do?"
sexonnaplatter 1 month ago
@sexonnaplatter The God of the Old Testament is the same God of the New Testament. Jesus walked in the Garden of Eden and gave the laws of the Old Testament. He arrived in human form in the New Testament and told us that he didn't come to abolish the old laws but to fulfill. The only thing he fulfilled was the sacrificial part of the law. You show your ignorance of the Scriptures when you ask "What Would Jesus Do." God is not going oppose himself.
EAECvideos 1 month ago
As I said above, I do not claim to be an expert but I have heard many interpretations of the connection of the OT and NT. As for showing ignorance, I have seen no greater ignorance than from "Christians" who refuse to accept interpretations contrary to translations they've stuck with for years no matter how much more sense they make or how much more true to the overall message of of God they are. And all that does it give more evidence that they don't speak for God and never have.
sexonnaplatter 1 month ago
@RipVanMango Using the word 'God' and 'civil society' is an oxymoron. We already had a civilization 'under God', and it resulted in 1500 years of dark ages. We don't need to try that again...
windigo77 1 month ago 2
How many times does it need to be said? Is it really that hard to just leave the gays alone and continue to live your life out on this earth? Every single creature on this planet deserves happiness and prosperity for as long as they live here. Hypothetical question, and no offense to anyone, but as a Christian would you really want to "save" a heathen that has conducted numerous amounts of lewd acts with other men and spend an eternity with that person in Heaven? I imagine plenty would not.
Dav3Th3Rav3 1 month ago
@Dav3Th3Rav3 I appreciate your comments but you don't understand Christianity. It's not about happiness and prosperity when there is a moral lawgiver that has stated what is acceptable in His creation. As for your question, every Christian was once a heathen, some more, others less, but the same nevertheless. Sin is a choice. There is no gay gene, with the decoding of the human genome, science has proven homosexuality is a choice. You would be welcome in our church.

Wow, that was very powerful!
But it does make a lot of sense of what our education system is turning to with all the sexual education thats in the public schools.
So what the Pastor is saying is that our country or the world has been infiltrated?
Anyone agree?
