I did this to a friend while wrestling but he didn't tap out. I walked forward enough that I was almost mounted. I think it's because his arm (the one inside the choke) was in a weird position. but none of the videos I've seen really address where their arm should be. can anyone help me out?
I saw a guy hit his wife at restaurant I was at, and I'm not one to get involved in someones relationship but when it spills out to the public AND it involves hitting a woman, I don't take that. So I approached this guy and told him
"Hey man, i dont want to tell u what to do in ur relationship but u shouldnt be hitting women. "
"HEY GUYS.i made a new account and i decided to show people wat mma is all about. i am a boxer and a juijitsu white belt, im going to give people a chance to see me grow as a mixed martial artist. ill be bloging and posting my training sessions and tournements, come subscribe and watch me grow as a person, watch me grow as a mixed martial artist with Renzo Gracie and Gleasons boxing gym."
When he rolls notice that his head is gets crushed. That is very painfull. What you should do is when you get your arm through grab your well past your bicept instead and dip your head to the side that you're gonna roll that way when you roll you dont get your head crushed like this moron did. Once you're set to roll use your hips for more power.
@hxcmexi ur head is only rolled on for a very short period of time if it does happen, so if u pull it off succesfully .. it doesnt really matter, but i understand where ur coming from
Duh!! i like watching how other do it. I used to do it like this guy here. and even for that one second that your head is under him hurts like a bitch. Sometimes it makes you wanna let go of him. So i watch others and then try them out when i go to the gym. Definately alot better.
@hxcmexi - its not really that painful though is it? Its not like youre going to be KO'd or put out of the fight by someone briefly rolling over your head. Its mildly painful at most, unless you're really soft. Its not perfect tech to get your head rolled over but thats a brief moment, followed by you strangling the guy. So, not the end of the world.
True but at the same time the opponent can fight it and twist the opposite way making your head stay on the ground between getting squished. It is painful and no one likes that. Feeling that way for a couple seconds just as 6 can make anyone paranoid and let go of the choke completely.
this is just the video i was looking for, all the other stuff didnt seem to get me the choke. i will apply this Monday when i roll. excellent video man! very no non sense
gnlnick7, there is no difference between this and a gator roll choke. They are the same move.
Tip: Tuck your head off to the side of their body on the same side as the bicep you're grabbing. Otherwise you will crush your own head underneath their back when you roll them.
that hand grip doesnt lock in their arm as well as the former position when you have a hand on the bicep. The person underneath could pretty easily stab their elbow out
Never tried it but now I will. Very nice. I'm stunned by people telling me that a person can be put unconscious in a matter of seconds by this one. What's the reason for that? Anyway, I see this would be extremely effective against a wrestler.
u dont have to roll to finish the sub just a variation....the head and the arm in that position is called anaconda....check out noguiera use it a couple times in pride
dat choke iz mean cuz i remember me and my friend were wrestling but he a high school wrestler
and i just wacth theses videos and learn and he went 4 da double leg and i got him in this choke he said it was the meanest choke he eve rfelt cuz the moment i did it he said he was about to pass out and i had it 4 like 3 to 5 secs he tapped the moment i put it on him i luv dat move :)
it should be a 5second choke but my instructor did a no gi comp and a guy tried to get him in this choke and he took to long and my instructor ended up getting out and ended up popping the guys shoulder out of socket so always be quick with ur moves or it will go wrong
lol wrong way to roll.... you might want to tuck your head to the side so that when you roll your head doesn't get crushed by your opponents body weight
lol...ya no kidding. At the police academy, this move was a PAIN-IN-THE-ASS wearing the duty belt with all of my gear on it. lol. But we had to do it 'cause obviously in real-life situtations a cop isn't going to take his gear off to tap their subject out. Anywho, Merry Xmas dude and TAP THOSE BITCHES OUT!!!! :D
when at the end he tried 2 grab his leg it might hav bn easier to slide the right 1 first and then lock with the left 1 on top cuz he pushued it down first and den couldnt put his right 1 under lolz
it does but if they roll with you and you cant get enough leg to keep the choke you can lighten the choke enough and use your momentum to roll right into Mount.
We use this tech for GnP for MMA and if you heel the arm right it works for a nice transition into a snappy armbar if you are quick for BJJ or MMA
Very good video. You explained it well and even showed where and how to grip. It wasn't just hidden under the opponent. Well done. Keep up the good work.
I like your version better bro. I actually lost this postion a couple of times rolling when trying to key lock over the back. I will try this next time the opportunity presents itself. I have Karate, Ju-Jitsu, and Shootfighting back ground and guys come up with new variations everyday. Look at how far our sports have evolved in the last 10 years.
Xcellent! As a 35+ yr. student/teacher of Wing Chun, and having cross trained in Aikido, Kali, boxing and other arts, I know I'm prob. meat if I hit the ground with an experienced ground fighter. Well explained. Tho I've yet to hit the ground in a street fight, I feel you're never to old to learn new tricks. My nephew is into bjj, and we were talking about this move just tonight. Thumbs up!
cool stuff dude. It's nice to see highly trained martial artists wanting to learn new stuff and not limiting themselves. I find it's the world is lackign of peopel who dont't want to branch out and explore new things.
I hear ya. I think a true MA never stops learning (or want to learn). I hate the flame wars of- "my art is better than yours." I've always told my students, "it's not the art, it's the fighter." Look at Chuck Lidell- I understand he has a good ground game, but now that he's gotten older, he knows how to avoid a take-down and relies on his striking. Anyway, I just want to be well-rounded, so yeah, I'm open to learn anything.
nice! totally agree with you. cuz i teach self defense classes and kickboxing and its rare to find guys from a pure MA background to really want to branch off to learn new stuff, which we all know if doen [properly is for the better of one's training. Same wth Georges St. Pierre. the guy learns from all his mistakes! he will train his weaknesses.

thats a lot like a russian roll in freestyle wrestling... except instead of rolling all the way through you stop and tighten you choke.
