They won't be able to make any more until they get the license back. 2k signed an exclusive license with MLB back in 2005 in response to EA signing an exclusive license with the NFL. The result is horrible games in Madden and MLB 2k. This is what happens when there is monopoly: you get less quality products because there is no incentive for companies to try extra hard to make a good product.
@dannijulio Not sure. 2k got the deal extended I think. MLB seems happy with MLB 2k right now, and MLB the Show is there for people who want a realistic experience, so I don't see MLB cutting 2k to make a new deal with EA anytime soon.

hey piratesmvp, i'm just strolling through the comments and i can tell that you know a lot about the situation with licenses for ea and 2k. in your opinion do u think that mvp baseball could resurrect in the next few years? i have a 360 and im stuck with mlb 2k, but of course i dont play that crap game, so i just play mvp baseball 2004 since it is backwards compatible with 360
MVP Baseball could be resurrected in 2013 after Take2's contract with MLB expires. However, because EA extended their license with the NFL to 2014, I wouldn't be surprised if Take2 did the same thing. I certainly hope that MLB would take a look at the situation and realize that MLB 2k has been a miserable failure, and consider other options. But, it is important to know that if MVP Baseball ever did come back, it would not be the same thing. It probably wouldn't be moddable, and it may not be
as great and innovative of a game as it was before. It would also take some time for EA to improve their would be 8-year old MVP game code. The fact is that the gaming industry has evolved, and any hope of returning to EA's glory days are unfeasible. It's time to move on and hope that Sony can improve their game and maybe get into the Xbox or PC industry.

Oh, they made plenty of money off of it. It was the best baseball game ever made to the date. What happened was that EA stupidly decided to get an exclusive NFL license, so Madden would be the only football game. In response, 2k decided to get an exclusive MLB license, so their MLB 2k9 will be the only baseball game. So, now we're stuck with a bad football game and a bad baseball game. And all because of greed. 2k was good at football and EA was good at baseball. Should've stayed that way.

Yeah, they gave up MVP to keep Madden, but who says 2k was going to get its own exclusive license? Also, 2k is beginning to wise up by investing in the PC market. If they keep this up, EA is going to be in a ton trouble when 2k gets big enough to renegotiate a contract with the NFL.

Madden being a no competition game is the worst thing that could happen to NFL gaming fans. EA repeatedly releases subpar football games because they have no competition. I still think ESPN NFL 2k5 is the best football game ever made, and it's even better than Madden 09 in some areas. EA has become the biggest lame duck in the gaming industry, and that's why I say that all 2k's gotta do is improve their game base, and then EA Sports is going down. EA better make Madden 10 good, or they're done.

EA is only relatively the cutting edge. The only reason it's good is because it's the best that's out there. If 2k were still making football games, Madden would be no more. I tried to see if the 08 FOX mods for MVP 05 would work with 04, but they did not, so I had to go with the older FOX overlay. As for posting it on MVPMods, ALL my mods are EAMods exclusive. If you want my mods, become a member at EAMods and download it there. The only reason I also posted MVP Baseball 2008 at MVPMods is because I had planned to do that in the first place. The deal I have with kraw is that he'll give me the 04 section at EAMods if I make all my mods EAMods exclusive.
I just use a basic Intel 945GM with 64 MB or RAM. It has no special 3D effects (TnL, etc.). The graphics in this video look really nice because MVP Baseball 2008 has new high-resolution uniforms. And, uniforms are only one of the many graphical improvements in this mod. You've gotta check it out once it's released (we're having a delay due to size issues).

They won't be able to make any more until they get the license back. 2k signed an exclusive license with MLB back in 2005 in response to EA signing an exclusive license with the NFL.
