I still dont understand whats gonna happen with people who have an account in FFXI. Can you like transfer your characters to FFXIV from the XI. If so, are your characters gonna start at the same lvl?
@ReemusIII man if thats true then that really sucks. I did all the things i had to do to be an alpha tester but no response so far. But I really did hear something about transefering your character data to ff14. didnt make much sense tho. i wouldnt know where the hell to go as a lvl 60 white mage.
@TheMoreofme Those goons over at square enix still hasn't made a PS3 beta yet... It should be any day now though because the PS3 version of ffxiv is coming out in early March 2011. I'd say Beginning of January if i were betting money on it.
@10Broken0Heart01 Square-Enix recently reconfirmed that FFXIV would be releasing this year. That seems to point to sometime in December, considering the beta hasn't begun yet. I would take that with a grain of salt, though. I can easily see it being delayed to early next year.

i liked ff11 alot more for 360 than i did on pc pc ver i said f this and went back to wow,then aoc ,aion, but iam playing 11 again on 360 its smoother and for ff11 there not a need for a lot of buttons and for macros you just hit lt and you got them.

Dude I can't play this f**king game. FFXI was the pits. It was so pathetic the degree of service and the way Square Enix would ban everyone, The fact they tried to gip everyone $120 on stupid piece of metal crap dog tags at the very end, and started putting out mediocre content.. Square Enix just wants your money and your addiction and will do as little as possible required to get them. That's their overall reputation.
PS3 needs to do something with communication with the Online. Yeah there are keyboards and ear pieces but it'd be nice to see something like, "Buy this game and get $10 off your ear piece (or keyboard), when bought with the game." Get my vibe?

I agree with you on the PS3 thing. I played FFXI on my PS2, myself. I had the capability to play it on my computer, and in terms of features it really did offer a lot more, but I just had a bit more fun playing it on the PS2 for whatever reason. I know, sounds a little weird, but it's what I preferred.
Probably better if you get it on the PC, you just can't lay out the controls of an MMO on a console controller without doing a sloppy job of it.
And since we're talking about an online game, a pause feature to select the numerous abilities classes in MMOs come with would be out of the question.
MMOs need to be played on a keyboard/mouse....even a thousand times more so than shooters.
not true at all, I actually prefer playing XI on xbox. Its a lot easier and faster to move around using the joystick and the dpad to cycle through pt members(especially when in an alliance). Then if I need to access maccros all i gotta do is hit the right or left trigger.

Yep, sounds about right. FFXI went to it, why not XIV? I'm kind of disapointed that the next game in the line is an MMORPG, though. They should have been categorized as it's own like how Tactics and Crystal Chronicles did. FFO and FFOII sounds so much better and makes more sense to the line of games...at least to me, anyway.

Final Fantasy VII is, in my opinion, the best FF game they've ever produced. Not only because it was the first Final Fantasy game I've ever played, but I could relate to the characters much more, and the environment in FFVII was similar to ours which made it much more real. The story was perfect to my liking and the villain is the coolest I've ever seen. The main characters felt Unique and Cloud with his personality and his buster sword was just perfect. I haven't felt that with any other title.

Only because I liked the FF7 the best so far doesn't mean everything else is crap and not worth watching. Final Fantasy VII was my absolute favorite FF game and and I wish to see a remake more than new games with the bad FF 10 look-a-like theme. (FF 10 was the worst of them all in my opinion.) I've seen FF XIII Versus and that looks really cool and fits my taste perfect. I'm not arguing that FF 7 is best, only that it is best for me.
Yeah, but it's kinda repetitive having the main character be emo that has to save the world because the main villian felt like it without a good reason and with an extremely slow battle system. And I agree FFXIII and versus looks like it will be cool.
There haven't been any emo characters since Final fantasy VII far as I know. But I only played to Final fantasy 10. And the colorful environment and character like Tidus just didn't suit me well. And by the looks of it they tend to keep the Final Fantasy 10 Theme in their games now. The worlds are more a mix of modern dark ages with castles and magic and religion instead of technology and a more realistic feel in the world. I like when the world reminds me of our own.
FFVIII had an Emofest too.. You should try playing other ones before saying ''there are no emo characters''. But I liked IX and X just the fact that the main characters weren't emo and stuff. An upbeat character was good for a change XD

It wont be on 360 at release that is almost certain, this is due to disputes between SE and microsoft over I assume requirements of gold live on top of the monthly fee. I'm sure it'll reach 360 in 2011 tho. Also a lot of you saying are saying xiii will be better, well imo theres no point in comparing xiii is single players this is not both games will have different gameplay dynamics nad hopefully will both be great in different ways.
it cant support it since it cant handel 1G graphics processing, 360 has enough problems running FF11, however they will re-release it if Microsofts makes a new platform or an add on that can improve their system's specs, I'm sure they could just dumb down the graphics make it look like ass but players wouldn't want that... we will have to wait and see.
Most of you don't seem to know much about the game so heres a few bits of info. The reason it looks similar to xii is the art director is the same guy from xii and vagrant story, however the producer did I II III and XI and the director IX and XI, the best news is that the music will be done by Uematsu who did most of the old ff games including VII. Yes this is online only and will have a monthly fee, It's been made with the same graphics engine as xiii also (SE's crystal tools)
The races are too similar to Final Fantasy 11 Online. I do not know if any of you played Final Fantasy 11 but that game was too much of a time sink. You could not do ANYTHING alone after Lv 10. Everything must be done in a group or else you will die. Leveling was a pain in the ass. You could spend 3 hrs leveling with a group and then, 1 death, 3 hrs of effort gone.
At this moment, I do not put too much expectations into this game though I have been a Final Fantasy fan since Final Fantasy 6.

I dont like to judge a book by its cover but this doesnt seem all that different from FF12 and that game was alright storywise (could have been better though I thought and didnt live up to the calibre of many past great FF's) but the gameplay was a complete rip off of dark cloud especially the combat system and alot of the tedious effort (like buying all those goddamn licenses.....ugh..) wasn't worth it as the game wasn't that long.Epic waste of time.

I never understood what height had to do with it. A galka arm is as big as an elvaan's waist
Height gave you more mind elvaan with the most taru with the least which made no sence since you need mind for healing and taru natural spell casters
galka had vit + HP
hume had cha
taru had int+agi + mp
mithra had dex
elvaan had str+mnd+cha
this is the stats as i know them i played for 3 years and was off for 3 so they may have changed or i forgot something

I know most of u ppl will disagre with me, FF7 is a great game, BUT its not the shit like some of u think, FFVI (FFIII in US) is better than VII, the only thing it makes it "THE BEST RPG EVER MADE" was cuse it came out on the ps1, thats when peeps on the US started playing rpgs, FF7opened the doors of a lot of closet role players, its the best for them cuse it was their 1st rpg, was 3d and has a really great story, but in thruth FF6 is way better, but thats just my own point of view.

Final Fantasy VII is, in my opinion, the best FF game they've ever produced. Not only because it was the first Final Fantasy game I've ever played, but I could relate to the characters much more, and the environment in FFVII was similar to ours which made it much more real. The story was perfect to my liking and the villain is the coolest I've ever seen. The main characters felt Unique and Cloud with his personality and his buster sword was just perfect. I haven't felt that with any other title.

It's waaaayy overrated but fanboy's act like it's "the best video game of all time" when the PS1 was out. I admit that FFVII had it's time back in the day. But the game has long been dead.. And there are other PS1 games that are better than VII

Only because I liked the FF7 the best so far doesn't mean everything else is crap and not worth watching. Final Fantasy VII was my absolute favorite FF game and and I wish to see a remake more than new games with the bad FF 10 look-a-like theme. (FF 10 was the worst of them all in my opinion.) I've seen FF XIII Versus and that looks really cool and fits my taste perfect. I'm not arguing that FF 7 is best, only that it is best for me.

Yeah, but it's kinda repetitive having the main character be emo that has to save the world because the main villian felt like it without a good reason and with an extremely slow battle system. And I agree FFXIII and versus looks like it will be cool.

There haven't been any emo characters since Final fantasy VII far as I know. But I only played to Final fantasy 10. And the colorful environment and character like Tidus just didn't suit me well. And by the looks of it they tend to keep the Final Fantasy 10 Theme in their games now. The worlds are more a mix of modern dark ages with castles and magic and religion instead of technology and a more realistic feel in the world. I like when the world reminds me of our own.

Never played Final Fantasy 8. I played FF9 and I liked it. 10 however was annoying. Hate the main character and the storyline, but it's just my opinion.

I hated 9 causs of chibi characters and 10 and 12 because tidus is pronounced teitus and his clothes make no sence, no leveling system and the way you edited weapons sucked cause they all ended up looking the same, 12...? simply vaan, He was like 15, over tanned with his 8 pack and skempy vest. in the words of tidus "I hate you dad, so im covering myself in your bling! It wont be on 360 at release that is almost certain, this is due to disputes between SE and microsoft over I assume requirements of gold live on top of the monthly fee. I'm sure it'll reach 360 in 2011 tho. Also a lot of you saying are saying xiii will be better, well imo theres no point in comparing xiii is single players this is not both games will have different gameplay dynamics nad hopefully will both be great in different ways.

it cant support it since it cant handel 1G graphics processing, 360 has enough problems running FF11, however they will re-release it if Microsofts makes a new platform or an add on that can improve their system's specs, I'm sure they could just dumb down the graphics make it look like ass but players wouldn't want that... we will have to wait and see.

Most of you don't seem to know much about the game so heres a few bits of info. The reason it looks similar to xii is the art director is the same guy from xii and vagrant story, however the producer did I II III and XI and the director IX and XI, the best news is that the music will be done by Uematsu who did most of the old ff games including VII. Yes this is online only and will have a monthly fee, It's been made with the same graphics engine as xiii also (SE's crystal tools)

The races are too similar to Final Fantasy 11 Online. I do not know if any of you played Final Fantasy 11 but that game was too much of a time sink. You could not do ANYTHING alone after Lv 10. Everything must be done in a group or else you will die. Leveling was a pain in the ass. You could spend 3 hrs leveling with a group and then, 1 death, 3 hrs of effort gone.
At this moment, I do not put too much expectations into this game though I have been a Final Fantasy fan since Final Fantasy 6.

As for Live, how is that stupid? They don't want to introduce a new mmo and have you pay more than the other platforms. FFXI was ported because they liked that 360 had an online service and it was an easy port from the PC version. I would suggest you educate yourself more thoroughly. They want it to be pretty much even on all platforms but it will not be on the XBOX 360 at launch.

I dont like to judge a book by its cover but this doesnt seem all that different from FF12 and that game was alright storywise (could have been better though I thought and didnt live up to the calibre of many past great FF's) but the gameplay was a complete rip off of dark cloud especially the combat system and alot of the tedious effort (like buying all those goddamn licenses.....ugh..) wasn't worth it as the game wasn't that long.Epic waste of time.
