Barrie, ON. December 19th major snowstorm, Bus gets stuck

Are Barrie winters always that bad? I'm in Kirkland Lake and wondering how far south I need to move, to avoid lots of snow.

@sweiland75 you have your bad winters, and alright ones...

This past year was very bad, we got over double the amount we usually get, whereas last year, we got 1/3 of the normal!!!

Compared to Midland, or Collingwood, we get nothing (since they're closer to the lakes-snowsqualls..) but Barrie get lots more compared to areas south like Bradford, or Newmarket.

In snow you haven't to give full trottle its important to give as low as possible gas that the weels don't spin.

i live in West Virginia and two weeks ago, on December 19 . we received a major storm here. we received 15 inches +. in about 8 hours. people around here were getting stranded on the Interstate 77 and Highway 460. there were so many accidents. and this was our biggest storm that we received since January 1998 which then we received over 40 inches of snow in less then 24 hours

we got nothing in Barrie either! Like 3 cm. from a storm on Wednesday, about the same as you :P

It was mainly the winds that were the piss-off...

BUT just north of Barrie in Orillia and Midland, they got over 100cm in 3 days.... and we still have a measley 5 cm. :P

this was a bad snowstorm, maybe you should be happy you missed it! :P

Grand 24 hour totals for snow that day from 11am-aaam saturday was just under 1 and 1/2 feet.

Most snow I can remember falling from 1 storm ever!

It must be hard driving the only vehicle with the engine in the rear, other the couch. Which would cause all weight to be in the rear. I would love to see the ones that tape this try it! LOL

hahahah i remember hearing this on the radio, one person called in and was like "theres a bus on Cundles and St Vincent..and shes stuck, so just watch out" I was surprised Sinton didnt cancell the busses..kuz my power was out for like 35 hrs lol.
