I find that the 6x4 on the default motor works fine, dont know if the default is the same for every one, but mine is a spitz 2200kv. i would change the ESC though, for a 30A i think is enough.
It is driven by an APC E 5x5 prop. To really have fun you should change the motor to a variant with less rpm/v and use a 9x6 prop (as large as possible without hitting the fuselage).

Sounds like your prop is on Backwards! The writing of the prop should be facing the front of the plane. That DON'T sound right at all....

yes it´s absolutely stock... in my opinion you should use another prop since 4.5x4.5 is used for pylon flying and not for gliders...
