  • You sir, are no joke.

  • Dude, you're like Jay Graydon...he did it in one take too! Thanks for sharing, you're an artist.

  • Hi Steve, Thanks for taking the time to show this benchmark solo. The lesson was done perfectly. As for anyone stating “You Should Do This” or “That”, if you can do better , than do it! If you can’t pick it up at this clip, you’re probably not ready for a solo like this, keep practicing. Amazing that Steve takes the time to give this FREE lesson and people still complain.

  • Steve, this is tremendous. Awesome job of taking an incredibly complex solo and breaking it down with just enough theory/technique for it to be informative and clear but not overly dumbed down. Can't wait to re-watch this video with my Les Paul in my hands and try to nail a solo I've loved for years! Thanks again for sharing.

  • wow

  • Excellent! Please throw more Steely Dan stuff our way!

    Awesome!

    Thanks!

  • Thanks for doing the lesson but you should explain a bit more what your doing rather than just playing everything.

  • I doing this whole song, playing all the parts and singing. All the instruments are pretty easy, but I wasn't looking forward to working out the solo. Thank You for posting this. If you have some time check out my page. You may like some of it. Lots of covers and originals too.

    Again thanks for the help!!!

  • TNX SO much

  • I've learned a lot by your video lesson, and I want to thank you for taking the time to share this with me. The only part still mystifying me is what you call the "last lick" which starts with a bend and goes down the kneck to end the solo. Could you slow down that last descending part to better observe your technique?

  • Fine work. Nice Improv.

  • Man thanks very much! Now that tricky part, the cromathic thing really happens!!! You play weasome! There's a note after the descendant mixolidian scale that you play d-c-d-b-d-a#-b-g I hear something different d-c-d-c#-d-a#-b-g I don't how to write correctly in english, hope you get it! Perhaps you have the tutorial for josie solo? Thanks again man!
