  • uhhhh???

  • very nice, in colors and dof too.

How have you avoid jag35st vignetting?

  • @ilPaolino1 We used an achromat with the Jag35ST, which greatly reduced vignetting, and then we just zoomed in to the GG to avoid any more vignetting. :)

  • Good luck dudes.

  • he has to shit

  • LOL THAT WAS GREAT

  • i find this hilarious.

  • that sucked

  • Strange and twisted, so I subscribed. :p

  • This looks awesome.

  • what the heck was that suposed to mean in life. watch something like 'SIGHS" its awsome.

  • You mean the short film, "SIGNS"?

Read the description, it says the 3 themes of this film are:

    1. Alcoholism

    2. Addiction

    3. Releasing Anger onto Someone Else

  • Hahaha omg this is amazing.. Great job!

  • nice!

  • I didn't really get it...

  • cool shot at :51

  • I too have a Jag35 Pro and an HV40. I just bought the Indirailspro20sm system too. It has 24 inch rails. Do you find that it's excessive for the hv40?

  • well for the hv20 alone and an adapter only, it might be a little too much. But later on you'll find the rails very useful since you can add many things and it opens a lot more room for customization. We also have a d|focus follow focus on it and a monitor attached and still have a lot of room. Thanks for watching! :)

  • awesome video!

  • Dude, that was sick!

Haha I was just looking through a bunch of tests of the Jag35 and saw this! (Looking for an inexpensive DOF Adapter).

So, was the flickering focus achieved through a DIY focus wheel of the original focus wheel on the HV30?

And the quality on this is amazing... How did you film this at night and still get such great quality??

Sorry for all the questions lol

  • The flickering focus was achieved with using the Jag35 adapter and a D|Focus follow focus, although you can do without the follow focus. And for the night filming we just plugged in a halogen worklight into a socket outside and shone it on the action haha. That shot was also with the adapter and it held up pretty good in low light. We enjoy answering questions, no problem! :)

  • Great short! I really enjoyed it.

  • Love the shifting focus. :) Cool work guys!

  • @luminaseries Thanks! Your web series looks mind-blowing. :O

  • That was awesome! The acting and music in the beginning was pretty sweet.

  • @GallowGamesMedia Thanks man! Your Worm short was pretty insane. Really abstract and interesting :)

  • Thanks! I shoot on a HV30, so we got some stuff in common-that and a bit of crazy:)

  • @GallowGamesMedia Indeed! Found you from the HV20 forums btw. :)

  • @RenderingGlintFilms Ha! That forum is awesome. Great fire effects also, the match move is pretty tight. And I loved the exploding bottle when it hit the ground.

  • LMFAO! this is Awesome.!!!!

Great way to start my morning before work.

Good Job =) It was funny

  • That's exactly what I'm addicted to!! No I'm literally addicted to Coca Cola, I have like 5-7 cans a day.

  • That was very dope!

  • dude i was so blazed while watching this that i thought it was coke.

  • what version of adobe after effects did you use??

  • A serious filmmaker can take negative criticism. So here goes.

Is this called "Danny Torrence: The Firestarter"?

And what is about Indie films these days. They are all dark, over the top, and carbon copies of each other.

All the truly great films over the years took some seriously convincing actors to make it work. The only emotion today's actors tap into is drug or alcohol induced fits. For god's sake. Act more down to earth and REAL. Also, get an original idea.

  • Read the description buddy. Its for a contest where had to use this idea =/

  • And I'd like to see your critique on our film Experts Say. This one was sorta drawn out for us already due to the contest rules. :/ Also, this was made just for fun and it was the actors first time acting.

  • id agree with film making joe

the actors were fine and the look was fine, but the directing, plot, and message were not: the finger pointing? the use of coke cola? (i get the reference to cocaine/alcohol, but cmon, that isnt clever or profound)

also, your restrictions arent that limiting, theres a LOT you could do with addiction/anger, a majority of indie movies are based on just that. saying his criticism doesnt have merit because you had contest rules is lame, your using it as a crutch

  • Thanks for the critique. But, this was made in a mere 2 hours and had to be only 1 minute. Its extremely hard to develop a strong plot within that time includng "stepping on fire, doorbell and brown liquid". Addiction/anger was not the contest rules btw.

  • ohh, never mind, i thought the three perceptions were the rules, didnt see the bit down below. my bad :P. in that case it wasnt bad at all haha

  • Excellent video! Was all of the fire digital?

  • Yes it was =D

  • Niiiceeee

  • Epic and hillarious at the same time!! Very inspiring, too. I have the same setup as you minus the focus ring and my adapter is the Jag35Pro. What settings were used on your HV40? I bet most of the look was achieved in post through grading...

    EXCELLENT JOB GUYS!!

  • Thanks man!!! Just filmed this in Cine-mode with manual exposure of course. And yes, most of the look was achieved in post through color grading. :)

  • Amazing short film! Great work!
