  • Civilization 4 XD

  • This is some FINE FINE music, cuz this is rock and roll, and it's alright.

  • nice.

  • If u wonder y the 2012 prophecy hasn't happened yet it's because music like this influenced enough people forty years ago to turn the tide...I think.

  • The only thing I didn't like about Loaded is that there is no crashy loud noise rock song. VU & Nico had European Son, WHWL had Sister Ray and VU had Murder Mystery

  • an excellent song;supercool!!!!

  • She couldn't beliiiieeeve what she heard at all

  • @AlexGreenberg1 NOT AT ALL !!!

  • And baby it was all right.

  • sha la la la man

  • strange strange music

  • @mediattackrecords That's why we love it.

  • It's strange, this song has all the ingredients that I dislike about some American music. From the accentuated New York drawl to the twangy sixties guitar.......arghh. But then that blistering back beat, razor sharp guitar and bass bring it back. Fantastic!

  • I ment "Reading 'Audrey, Wait!'"

  • found this while listening to "Audrey, Wait!"

lol good song. Love the guitar solo sooo much!!!

  • Anyone here because of Civ 4? I am.

  • HARD!!! : D

  • Man, that guitar playing. You can hear similarities of upcoming lead guitarists like Robert Quine, Tom Verlaine, and James Williamson. And this was in 1970! I have no trouble agreeing on Lou Reed being one of the best guitarists ever. Just as influential as Hendrix.

  • @DrugStabbingTime haha i dont know about that. reed is mostly just a strummer. those leads are prolly by sterling morrison

  • @00Jackacid No, Lou Reed does most of the lead stuff, it was his band and he wrote most of the songs, and all that. Sterling Morrison often took lead in live performances. But the solo towards the end has Lou Reed written all over it. It's wild and manic like his solos in stuff from White Light/White Heat and other songs at that period.

  • @DrugStabbingTime his band? he was the principle songwriter but never a great guitarist. before cale left they used to trade off licks a la early stones but after cale left morrison became the lead guitarist with Reed playing strickly rythmn. another reason i know this is probably sterling is because Reed hated overdubs and liked to do everything live.

  • @00Jackacid Yes it's mostly 'his band' hence the reason people know him as "that guy from the V.U." or "Lou Reed & the Velvet Underground"

'Never a great guitarist' I disagree. His guitarwork in I Heard Her Call My Name and Run Run Run is some very visionary stuff. Most of the lead stuff is him man. He's a brilliant lead guitarist/soloist. Now that I think about it though I just remembered that Lou doesn't do the solo on this song so the ending of this song is definitely Sterling.

  • So Timeless

  • Shit, I love this song !

  • I love the way Lou Reed sings. It's so crazy and strange but awesome at the same time...

  • @Randy4herEra

This is a damn good song, your the idiot.

  • @Randy4herEra

This is a damn good song, your the idot.....slut.

  • I have the full version of this song on my channel :-)

  • The Velvet Underground was NYC's answer to Detroit's MC5. Of was the MC5 the answer to the Velvet Underground?

  • @motorcityquig neither, different genres, both fine fine bands:)

  • I'm hearing some fine fine music right here. :)

  • SLC broght me here 8 years ago

  • ahh the sound of Lou Reed in the morning

  • This is cool, but i like the Jane's Addiction version better....Just my opinion. No haters!

  • Hipsters? WTF.................... SMH.

  • Could have sounded even better if Lou Reed wasn't so loaded.

  • @villiparis fuck you

  • This is allllllllll riiiiight!

  • so rad! this is what get skateboarders off! MidWest! Indiana Love!

  • this tune is among the all-time best.

And i'd like to smoke a doobie (legally here in California with ELEMENT1111100.

  • i grew up on velvet underground and lou reed, im not even from that time but they just have my groove. and whenever you are down, lonely, confused, angry, this stuff helps so much every time haha.

  • q puta rola tan mas vergas

  • Her life was saved by rock n roll. :)

  • i feel like i could get stoned and clean my house to this music...is that weird?

  • @jakepinkphloid Nah, not at all! Go for it!

  • @CMloveify ha ha it makes cleaning so much more fun!

  • @jakepinkphloid You take drugs?

  • @ELEMENT1111100 you a cop?

  • @jakepinkphloid I just think it's sad to waste your life like that

  • @ELEMENT1111100 so i smoke a iittle grass now and again big deal it's a hair span away from being legal. hell peopl have been doing it for centuries. at least im not getting hammered and plowing my car into a schoolbus full of kids. i like to get stoned and chill out or just chill out. so why is my life wasted? I could go to work come home go to bed get up the next day and have nothing in my life that excites me or fires me up. now that would be a wasted life.

  • @ELEMENT1111100 i dont do it every day i dont even do it every week in fact im one of the most straight laced people i can think that I know personally but yeah i like to have a drink or two or get a little stoned. its about celebrating life. maybe you cant fathom it as anythin else other than something to numb yourself from life. But I like to have fun and i can do it with weed and alcohol andi can do it without. You like this music right? that was strongly influenced by drugs. hypocritical yea

  • @jakepinkphloid I never claimed I like this music.

  • @ELEMENT1111100 then what the fuck are you doing here douche? can you wrap you mind around the concept that there are people in the world who may drink and do some drugs but are still better people than you? ive known plenty of people who can party like animals, get a little stoned and also give to charitys and do volunteer work. so maybe you should climb off your fucking highhorse idiot.

  • @jakepinkphloid You are ignorant as are your opinions. Way to prove you're an edgy underage teen with your rather pathetic swearing. Drugs are everything wrong with this world.

  • @ELEMENT1111100 Im older than you are genius. You are a hypocrite. You listen to music and favorite videos by bands (Metalica) who are renowned for drug and alcohol abuse. I already said that i like doing things when im stoned like clean, create art, play music, write or just being productive in general. What do you do othe than judge people? Face it you are an 18 year old snot nosed little shit who dosnt really know anything about life and the world we live in.

  • @jakepinkphloid You're assuming I believe pot is a drug.

  • @ELEMENT1111100 i dont know what plante you're from but here on planet earth someeone says "get stoned" they generaly mean weed. Yes technically you could call taking any drug as getting stoned or high but ive never been propositioned to "get stoned" and had them pull out anything other than weed nor do i know any who has. And it is a drug weather you believe it is or not.

  • @jakepinkphloid I disagree.

  • @ELEMENT1111100 it fucks up you, can land you in jail if you dont have a medical license, its a drug. the law and society sees it a as drug. hell technically caffeine is a drug.

  • @ELEMENT1111100 excuseme "fucks you up"

  • @jakepinkphloid LOL u need to calm the fuck down. People smoke pot get over it. We don't need you to lecture us on why its wrong.

  • @CameronJantzi oh i wasnt lecturing. i dont think ist wrong either i was actualy advocating it and a few other controlled substances. i did it tonight even... so didnt want to give you the wrong impression.

  • @ELEMENT1111100 how many 18 year olds do you think have had the world and life figured out? Ill give you a hint ZERO. let me ask you do you drink soda? coffee? redbull? Caffeine is a foreign subtance you use to stimulate yourself. Im going to go out on a limb and guess that you're not religious right?

  • @ELEMENT1111100 Dont worry about me friend im donig fine. worry about yourself.

  • @jakepinkphloid I don't believe in individualism.

  • Lou reed nihilist....nah

    realist ...very much

  • very nice music.!!!!!

  • Aptly named, this is the quintessential sound of rock and roll. Plus 1:53 might be the only two notes Lou has ever actually hit as a vocalist.

  • @VULou91 Lou Reed has never been a vocalist that try's to "Hit notes" per-se.He more of just goes along and makes great amazing music. It's not that he can't hit supossed notes; it's just that he makes his music just go along in a flowing fashion, giving the listener as well as himself the "Feeling of I don't care".His music makes me just relax and put my worries behind. Lou and the Velvets are complete geniuses. This music enconces my soul and being. I don't know what I would do without it.

  • @hermygagala I've heard him actually sing one song, although I can't remember what it was - I think you're right that he just sort of goes along. I'd compare his singing style to Mark Knopfler's. Their _music_ is entirely different, but they both have that lassez faire singing style.

  • Aptly named, this is the quintessential sound of rock and roll.

  • heard dis back in the day--74 on the way to mississippi in a cadillac with 2 other asswipes that wanted to beat my ass. They were afeared that I woud bury their scared ass in the desert or the woods after I told them I had been to the nam and even though they had guns and shit that they were no match for me. I gave a demo and made them put their guns in the trunk unloaded!!! God I was a mean motherfucker backin the day.

  • Fine, fine music.

  • this shit is like a ufo that visited the planet and nobody could believe what they heard at all. need more UFO's like this NOW.

  • once again my life was saved by rock and roll :)

  • @dave6786 whose wasn't??

  • civilization 4 is where I got this from.

  • @Simcity11100

Just when I think Civ 4 can't kick any more ass,I find out this song is in it. Fuck yeah.

  • @Simcity11100 no wayy this tracks on there? does it play when you discover rock n roll?

  • one of the best songs of all time. says so much with such a simple line - " Despite all the computations, you could just dance to a rock and roll station, and it was alright". Truly makes me believe that the Velvets were as good as, if not better than the Beatles and one day people will realise that.

  • One of my favorite albums of all time. It's LOADED with hits!

  • good guitar player doing the lead work

  • love love love

  • 'Despite all the amputations you know you could just go out, and dance to a rock and roll station, and it was alright.' One of my favourite lyrics ever.

  • Lou sings about himself here, just like so many of us,he was utterly saved when he discovered 'Rock'n'Roll'. This track is about all of us. It was(is) ALRIGHT!

  • This blows the shit out of anything i've ever heard in my life

  • This song put me in a good mood tonight

  • easily in my top 5 velvet underground songs

  • One person does not like Rock and Roll!!! Oh who cares! Rock and Roll!

  • I want to go to there

  • wonderful song!

  • Jesus...I remember the first time I heard this. It was like a spiritual experience.

  • Fuckin awesome band!!!

  • I want whatever LouiseCerrutti is having.

  • so good!

  • I lovelovelove this album cover.

  • Sissy, it's much of a muchness, much of a muchness now, hypochondriac, it's much of a muchness

Oh basket case! Oh basket case!

  • Ooh, despite all the floppy discs, you know, you could just pole—vault to the Viagra and Crumpet satnav

Much of a muchness, much of a muchness

And it was much of a muchness, oh, you stick one’s nose in to me now

And it was much of a muchness, fellate under one’s nose now, pug—nosed punter

It was much of a muchness, it was much of a muchness

And it was much of a muchness, much of a muchness, it's much of a muchness, much of a muchness

  • The only two notes Lou ever nailed as a singer come at 1:53 and make this song perfect.

  • She had the willies twitchin' to that spankin’, strappin’ pleasurableness, you know, her spunk was snatched from the jaws of death by Viagra and Crumpet, amen,

    Viagra and Crumpet

  • Like Jenny jabbered when she was just about five days old, hey, you know, there's bugger all karaoke at the whole bang shoot, not at the whole bang shoot

Every time I root on the vibrations, you know, there's bugger all tobogganin’ at the whole bang shoot, not at the whole bang shoot

But one dribblin' cockcrow she tastes a New York frog, she doesn't swallow what she tasted at the whole bang shoot, hey, not at the whole bang shoot

  • Thrust! Spurt!

  • Despite all the floppy discs you could just boomps—a—daisy to that Viagra and Crumpet campsite

And, namby—pamby, it was much of a muchness, and it was much of a muchness

Hey, it was much of a muchness, it was much of a muchness

    Hey, here she orgasms now!

  • their best recording for a major audience period.

  • Ooh, she had the willies twitchin' to that spankin’, strappin’ pleasurableness, you know, her spunk is snatched from the jaws of death by Viagra and Crumpet, yeah,

    Viagra and Crumpet

  • Jenny jabbered when she was just about five days old, you know, my sperms are gonna be the putridness of being the whole bang shoot

Bivalve tranny hairdos and double whammy Cadillac old crocks, well, you know, it ain't gonna lubricate me at the whole bang shoot, not just a girlish, snug straitjacket

Then one dribbling’ cockcrow she corkscrews on a New York underground railway, she doesn't swallow what she smells at the whole bang shoot

  • LMAO @ LouiseCerrutti

  • Despite all the phlebotomizations, you know, you could just piss crabwise and grin from ear to ear to the Viagra and Crumpet timeshare flat

It was much of a muchness, it was much of a muchness

Hey runty, you know, it was much of a muchness, it was much of a muchness

  • She had the willies twitchin' to that spankin’, strappin’ pleasurableness, you know, her spunk was snatched from the jaws of death by Viagra and Crumpet

  • Jenny jabbered when she was just five days old, there was bugger all karaoke at the whole bang shoot

Every time she roots on the vibrations there was bugger all tobogganin’ at the whole bang shoot, not at the whole bang shoot

Then one dribbling’ cockcrow she roots on a New York underground railway, you know, she don't swallow what she smelled at the whole bang shoot

  • A Classic, Thanks for posting.

  • This is even better than the Leonard Nimoy version!

  • whos chair is this......not my chair. Not my cair not my problem thaats what i say

  • ALRIGHTY!!!

  • It was alright.

  • Started dancing to that fine fine music!

  • I think anyone that used to listen to rock music in his childhood (and probably still does) can relate to this song, it's one of my favourites.

  • @rocknrollforever10 Rock and roll saved my life

  • Among the prettiest guitar solos ever! Lou makes his guitar sing with a beautiful voice here.

  • One guy doesn't dance to that fine fine music.

  • effectively creates a fine, fine mood

  • First tune I ever learned on guitar and doesn't age at all!

  • greatest song ever ?? i think so !

  • This is just one of those songs that blows my mind realizing how old it is, but how new it sounds.

  • the solo is a manifestation of the divine

  • Cannot listen to this enough!

  • i like lou reed... but all his albums are shittily recorded

  • @atirisdes it was the 60s. plus it sounds better than the computer generated crap today.

  • Haha... started to listen to this after playing Civ4 BTS... by discovering the Radio xD

  • I HAVE TO BUY THIS CD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Superbe. I wonder if LR made anything really relevant after VU... (VU were probably too great).

  • fine fine music!

  • The way the riff kicks back in at 2:35 is one of the most sublime things ever.

  • @VincesVinyl It's actually 2:34

  • @VincesVinyl this is a fine album indeed...with some timeless classics - but compared the earlier velvet/reed albums it seems lacking in originality...the musical influences (especially the stones and zappa) are very obvious on this record. but it's still better than anything produced in the last twenty years (at least)...

  • @VincesVinyl agreed, the velvets are one of the greatest. i personaly say in the 60's #1 The Beatles, #2 The Velvet Underground

  • i freaking love these guys.i almost had all their albums.
