both of them are the same camcorder. At the XR200VE, the E is only for europe all sony modells for sale in europe got the E in the Back.

@MusicF4 the VE records in PAL encoder. V records to NTSC. other than that, there the same. if you live in europe then you can only get the VE. hope this helped. :) note: encoder means nothing, the video is still the same. just the framerate is lower.

90 minutes isn't right at the highest. 15 hours at the highest setting, 35 hours medium and 45 hours at the lowest. I don't know why he is misleading people and telling them it is lower number.

well some of the differences: SR11 has jack input and output, viewfinder, 3.2 inch touchscreen, (compare to XR200's 2.7"), 10 MPix pictures compare to XR200's 4 MPix, docking station (very handy) but only half capacity of HDD 60GB (XR200 has 120 GB), doesn't have GPS (like XR200) plus SR11 looks to me biger than XR200.

The HDD you can still upgrade yourself later.. Think about what you want to use the camcorder for..

Incorrect on one point. Your video even showcases this. You get about 870 minutes of record time with the 120gb hard drive. NOT 90 minutes. The battery life, however is about 90 minutes. You can purchase a bigger battery and go for hours and hours.

The CX range only uses Memory Stick, the pro is it's lighter but the con is that memory cards only come in 64gb max which can cost half as much as the camera. Buying a HDD Handycam is better as it has a huge HDD but is heavier but it's easier to keep still when zooming in on far subjects. I should know as I own this camera and work for Sony.

@IAPOD - I just got one of these HDRXR200V's and it works fine here in Hamilton, Canada. As to the "grainy" video, something isn't set right on your cam. Mine is great, crisp and clear when I play back via HDMI cable to my TV. Highly recommend this cam.

At first I was thinking, “Damn, I must be a moron, I didn’t know I could jack this shit up higher than 1920 X 1080" (which would burn through the hard drive even faster resulting in 91 minutes of hard drive space). This guy had my head spinning for a moment.

@Scramm88 I work for Sony Australia and personally own this Video Camera and I get around 14 hours of recording. People like this need to do more research as the can and do get sued for misleading information!!! Even when you pause at 4:04 you can see it says "867 mins" of recording time left which is 14 .5 hours!!!

Interlaced splits the image into two fields (Odd & Even) and puts them together with a few frames interlacing with their next frame (11,22,23,34,44 = 30Frames per sec / 60fields per sec + very noticeable on a PC)

Progressive is the full image on a frame (1,2,3,4 = 24/30/60 Frames per sec of full image)
