@Cravehunter It's highly recommended that you use the ABS hub so that you can plug the ABS wire harness back in. This will also ensure that the braking system in the vehicle functions correctly.
@aux1z11 We currently do not have an auto repair video for this particular year, make, model Chevy Venture. If you have a Haynes or Chiltons they should tell you what size the nut is.
@chaseg14 We do ship in stock items to Canada. Shipping rates would apply. These rates can either be calculated while checking out through our website or you may also call one of our sales reps toll free at 888-844-3393 Hope this helps you out.
@redneck0024 Yes the wheel and hub assembly are one unit on this vehicle. We sell them on our website 1aauto.com we also offer free shipping on all of our parts shipped in the USA.
the front bearings on my 2003 impala needs to be replaced. but someone told me that when replacing the bearings HUB assemdbly, that it needs to be pressed by a machine?...is this true or can it be done manually as so illustrated by the video?,...
@lowlevel21 HI, The hubs on your 2003 Impala are just like the ones shown in the video, they are not the pressed in type. Here's a link to them on our website if you would like to see what we have. .1aauto.com/1A/wheel-bearing-hub-front/Chevy/Impala/-/-/2003?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=youtube&utm_campaign=1ATony
@ReySeanTv It should be a little easier, because you do not have an axle to remove. You would need to remove the rear brake caliper and disk brake, and remove the four bolts on the backside that hold the hub on.
@ReySeanTv we carry the replacement rear hubs for your 2000 Chevy Impala. Here's a link to them on our website. 1aauto.com/1A/wheel-bearing-hub-rear/Chevy/Impala/1ASHR00038/322243/2000?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=youtube&utm_campaign=1ATony
i have seen that a few times where they came apart, but the nut was usually under torqued. question, isn't this vid pretty much the same as the other one about replacing a front hub on a gm front wheel drive? looked like you grand am on the hoist in that one, that should be the same shouldn't it?
@nfarnham2008 Usually they'll make a grinding or a humming noise. Another way to check is to take the wheels off for the hub and see if the hubs have play in them. They should be fairly tight with little to no play in them.
would this be the same bearing as a 04 malibu v6 ?
if the bearing is "loud/ bad shape" it still should come out without damage to the steering knuckle right? because of the inner bearing would just be damaged like this one..... its time to order ! lol
@MrOne2watch HI, Yes this bearing fits quite a few different applications. Yes the bearing for your 2004 Chevy Malibu is a complete assembly just like the one in the video. Here's a link to the wheels bearings available for your car. You can copy and paste this link into your browser, and it'll take you right to them.
2 years ago. I ordered a set of wheel bearings for my 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix from 1AAuto.. Well 2 years and 3 weeks after they were installed. The drivers side bearing needs to be replaced.
Warranty is 2 years....but I've put on 60,000 miles on the car since then. Regardless the price for the pair was cheaper ($107.00) then a single OEM part. I'll be ordering another set to keep the car going.
First off thank for the awesome video! Helped alot. But now that i have done that whenever i slow down almost to a complete stop i get this clicking type noise. We took the wheel back of and jacked it up and put the car in drive to see what is was but cant see anything rubbing . has this ever happened to you and how did u fix it?
Hi Mike, I have a question regarding tools. What manufacturer do you use for tools in your shop? I attended Universal Technical Institute for automotive training, and they basically preach Snap-On or nothing else ( which may be due to the fact that they have a financial partnership with Snap-On ). Personally, most of my own tools are Craftsman, Bluepoint, and all my open-end and box wrenches are SK. Could you tell me your preferred company, and your reasons for such preference?
Is it possible that the hub bearing assembly could cause a grinding noise you can hear and feel but only on hard acceleration or medium acceleration on an incline? On a 98' Oldmobile Acheiva v6. The car runs like a TOP and just started making this horrible noise that is most definitly a grinding and only happens on tough acceleration, if you putt from a stop and slooooowwly build speed it wont do it. ANY help would rock, it has 101,000 miles and not one thing has gone wrong but this.
Thank You VERY much for your instructional videos they're most helpful. I watch your videos over any others on YouTube for car instructions. Thanks again.
i have an 04 grand prix with low. i have the same abs/trac control service lights on, for over a week my abs had been engaging while coming to a slow stop. never on a hard stop. and only in the last 2 days have my lights been intermitently coming on and sometimes they dont come on at all. i was told 1 of 3 problems, wheel speed sensor, hub bearing or flex wiring harness. guess ill start with the wiring harness and go from there. great video, is there one for changing flex wiring harness?
@bloodyclowns2017 Thanks for the comment. I don't have the ABS harness video yet but I'll put it on the list. Not sure when I'll get it done though. That harness obviously connects in to the hub sensor on the steering knuckle then follow it in under the hood to find the other end.
Will replacing the hub assembly correct the trac off abs and service traction control lights coming on, or is that one of those, "well hundreds of things could be doing that," kind of thing?
@idontknow5858 The sensor in this hub feeds in to the ABS and trac control. First check the harnesses on all 4 wheels. Damage to 1 or more of the harnesses can cause the problem you describe. Beyond that a bad sensor in a hub is a likely cause. There can be other causes. I sometimes pay my dealer to diagnose then I take it from there.
Do you have to use a Abs hub if you have ABS? What would happen if I did, would that affect anything else other than not having ABS?

I have a grand prix and when I drive at about 15-25 mph I hear a chirping sound come from my wheel and was wondering if it's the wheel bearing
2001GrandP 3 weeks ago
@2001GrandP It could be the bearing or also the low brake pad indicator. You may want to inspect the brake pads too.

@AssassInUrAss It may, however they usually make more of a humming noise and typically get louder as the vehicle picks up speed.

@jango67 There should be a bracket that mounts between the Hub and steering knuckle that it clips to.
