Remember that all the special effects for this film were made WITHOUT COMPUTERS! Everything was either stop-motion or done by hand on a multi-plane camera Mike built using an Erector set.
I remember watching movie nonstop as a kid, I was sad to hear that my grandma lost it in her move (I asked if I could have it as she got for when her grand kids would come to visit)...and I can't find a physical copy of the VHS (still sad about there not being a DVD) ANYWHERE..not even online!! T-T I was obsessed with the movie then and apparently still am now. if anybody can tell me where I can buy copy please tell me
I luv this film. N that bike is so awesome, a sonic laser, I want one. His films r amazing. He did the shadow spirits in Ghost, imo those were the best parts.
Hahaha! YES!! I wanted to see this for a long time! This is the movie that got me into stop-motion animation and then into animation itself. My absolute fav movie of my childhood! I can still remember the soundtrack too. Thankyou for uploading!
It's fantastic! I have the video cassette tape, but not in the original language and waited years for the announced coming up DVD. I know that Mike Jittlov had plans to release the DVD, but obviously there were problems to make it real. If someone wants to do the original crea a favour then buy the soundtrack CD, it is available directly from the composer Massari.
thanks for saving me the trouble of finding this movie on youtube. i just got the vhs copy of this movie, recently. i wanted to upload this movie in parts, but i don't wanna get in trouble. thanks for beating me to it, because, to me, i have nothing against you. thanx for stealing my idea (i mean that in a good way)! it's about time someone brought this movie back!!
@PrismPhoenix Mike Jittlov has pretty much gone on record and allowed the distribution of this film as long as it's not for profit. If it was ever released on DVD I would take all the parts down. Going by the majority of videos on YouTube, I'm glad it was me that uploaded it too. Correct aspect ratio, parts cut between scenes, highest quality upload, plus the trailer and short. It was a ball ache to do and took forever to upload, but this film deserves to be seen.
@Damn6Deal6Done6 Actually I got an email FROM MIKE telling me to remove the film from MY channel (I put a message on his newsgroup). No biggie, I just didn't want to go behind his back and post it.
but good luck with your video, and it's one of my all time favorite films.
@Damn6Deal6Done6 Correct: Jittlov is on film saying that he does not mind if the movie is "bootlegged" --- he owns the rights, but producer Kaye screwed him out of all monies obtained via distribution. So he makes nothing off the official release, but nonetheless managed to retain all actual copyrights. He would rather that people enjoy his hard work, than let it molder away in a basement.
I love this movie. but i think i must have seen a different version before because there are some lines of dialogue that i remember but aren't in this version.
The version I saw before was an old VHS tape that has been lost since then so i can't go back and check for sure. as far as things i can remember go well... in just this first part i remember. when Bookman is on the phone with the head of the board of directors "I got this sure thing now (it's called teet Teenage Extraterrestrials) I'll bet anything..." the part in parentheses is what was missing in this version. there are more but i don't remember the original dialogue.
@seandrake6 Theres two different versions of this movie. There's the original Theatrical version which this video is. And from what I can tell, it's Mike's perferred version. Then Starmaker got the rights to the movie and released a workprint that was longer and contained different lines of dialog. I have both versions on VHS.
@Damn6Deal6Done6 Starmaker got the rights to the movie and released a workprint that was longer and contained different lines of dialog. I have both versions on VHS.
@Damn6Deal6Done6 There was a separate release on VHS from a company called "Starmaker Entertainment" that is known to have alternative takes and dialogue not seen in the previous VHS/LD release such as this.
I saw this at an early Dublin Film Festival around 88-90. The producer in this clip has it right at 7:27 I still think it's a little gem of a movie. This is someone who loves his trade and is having fun with it.
Thanks for posting this, I'm looking forward to the next instalments.
Damn6Deal6Done6, you are my favorite person on youtube.

This movie kills cynicism on contact. Whatever cursed Hollywood also kept this man from becoming a household name.

Anybody want to send me a cd/dvd of this? Message me, I've been looking for it on and off since probably...1987, when I saw him at a small con in VA.

@somethinsuavetheater There seems to be a Spanish dubbed version out there based on this workprint version too.
