I must be missing something because I didn't think it was that bad. There's usuaully alot of pressure on the inagural poet so it's probably not going to be the best but it was not at all as bad as everyone is making it out to be.

Did anyone ever figure out wtf this woman was talking about? The only coherant thought I pieced together was in the beginning when she says "all about us is noise and bramble, thorn and din, each of our ancestors on our tongues".

How inappropriate is this sentiment at an inauguration, especially one where we have overcome the mistakes of our fathers?

100% agreement with you 300winmag . . . but I think I figured it out, and this should clear up what the poem is about . . ."we walk into that which we cannot yet see," that is the essence of this presidency and the state of mind of Barack Obama, nobody knows what he's gonna do, but we all know that whatever happens he's not gonna be ready for it.

Worst poem of my life. Did this woman shit out random sentences and string them together for this crap? They said "she worked really hard on it". This is a horrible excuse of a poem, and one that my kids use in their kindergarten classroom when they don't feel like actually working. "I tried" is not good enough for this President.
