Native Americans weren't enslaved because they knew the land too well, they were just pushed off to the side so the Europeans could in habit America. I really agree with your statement. I think there was plenty of blame to go around as far as FEMA though. The Governor of La. and Mayor of N.O. were the ones directly responsible for the evacuation efforts and didn't make sure the job got done. Those were the ones on the frontlines.
Under Bush, FEMA was absorbed under the Dept of Homeland Security, as what I believe as an effort to siphon funds from it. This created additional unnecessary bureaucracy and and inefficiency, topped off it was headed by Bush crony someone with little to no experience in emergency managment. As for local officials, I don't think anyone thought it would get that bad, feds or local, but you can't evacuate the poor without transportation when your bus drivers are already gone!

Strange enough I don't have a blanket opinion of Caucasians. It's a case by case basis for me and everyone else, but do I harbor reservations,sometimes. Science has proved that there are no 100% unbiased individuals when race is concerned.
I got a lot of help from people of different races, particularly Caucasians, to settle down in this country so it would be unfair to role them into one evil race, I ain't gonna do that.
No real bad experience personally that I can recall, but My friendshave.
I guess my question is, how can we get over the racial divide if blacks keep bringing racial issues up as a dividing factor?
Same issue with gays. I have this transgendered friend. And for all his attempts to be accepted he constantly brings the issue up. I'm like "fine your gay, I get it you have more things to talk about besides your gayness." You don't need to wear bear ass chaps in a pride parade in front of my kids.
Same with blacks, why did OJ trial become a racial issue?
The way to get over it is more understanding, more interactions across the races. In your own little way, how do you react when your kind begin to denigrate other races? As a black guy, I am not going to stand by and watch another black curl over in a corner and take a defeatist attitude, looking for self-pity or someone to blame. I encourage them to take responsibility and ignore any discrimination and bulldoze their way through to success. This is still a better country than most.
I was still in Nigeria when OJ happened and I only read about it. I don't know why it became a race issue.
Misery, they say, loves company and I guess that's why people try to play the race card when they want to have their ways even if they don't deserve it. You will hardly see a hardworking man complain about discrimination,even if it happens to him. He knows that in the end, he shall ovecome. But I still put my foot down in the face of discrimination.
OJ WAS a race issue because the media didn't report the white supremacist woman as having a coke addiction and ties to the mafia, or that she was in debt to them. They didn't report this murder was planned and OJ had nothing 2 do with it. Actually I took a class at SDSU, African literature, with me and 12 black people and admitted to them I took my wallet with me when I went to restroom because class was full of blacks! It was in my backpack. And yes, normally I would simply not care. This was a specific event that somewhat changed my thinking. I had little to no negative interactions with blacks, in fact, I had more problems with whites and hispanics, my own race. Yet, I had an automatic distrust based on race. This made me realize my idea of black people was based and fed to me by media fears and exposure of blacks on TV, such as COPS, the news, etc... It wasn't right and I owned up to it.
The kicker was it was a Carribean Literature class, so there was like 12 black people and two whites me and my friend. And he was not there that day. So it was like me confessing to 12 blacks, including the teacher! It began with a discussion on racism. But hey, I had to listen to them talk about how they sometimes just hate white people, and I was like, "hello, I am sitting right here". It was a great class though.

Native Americans weren't enslaved because they knew the land too well, they were just pushed off to the side so the Europeans could in habit America. Some of the Western Africans were captured as slaves. I know the entire continent's population wasn't captured. The continent itself was seized like how the Americas were seized by the Europeans.

If you think that African Americans have the same access to resources/education as Caucasians, then you probably have never seen a single Black neighhorhood in your entire life, for sure you haven't lived in one. I really agree with your statement. I think there was plenty of blame to go around as far as FEMA though. The Governor of La. and Mayor of N.O. were the ones directly responsible for the evacuation efforts and didn't make sure the job got done. Those were the ones on the frontlines.

Under Bush, FEMA was absorbed under the Dept of Homeland Security, as what I believe as an effort to siphon funds from it. This created additional unnecessary bureaucracy and and inefficiency, topped off it was headed by Bush crony someone with little to no experience in emergency managment. As for local officials, I don't think anyone thought it would get that bad, feds or local, but you can't evacuate the poor without transportation when your bus drivers are already gone!

Strange enough I don't have a blanket opinion of Caucasians. It's a case by case basis for me and everyone else, but do I harbor reservations,sometimes. Science has proved that there are no 100% unbiased individuals when race is concerned.
I got a lot of help from people of different races, particularly Caucasians, to settle down in this country so it would be unfair to role them into one evil race, I ain't gonna do that.

The way to get over it is more understanding, more interactions across the races. In your own little way, how do you react when your kind begin to denigrate other races? As a black guy, I am not going to stand by and watch another black curl over in a corner and take a defeatist attitude, looking for self-pity or someone to blame. Actually I took a class at SDSU, African literature, with me and 12 black people and admitted to them I took my wallet with me when I went to restroom because class was full of blacks! It was in my backpack. And yes, normally I would simply not care. This was a specific event that somewhat changed my thinking. I had little to no negative interactions with blacks, in fact, I had more problems with whites and hispanics, my own race. Yet, I had an automatic distrust based on race. This made me realize my idea of black people was based and fed to me by media fears and exposure of blacks on TV, such as COPS, the news, etc... It wasn't right and I owned up to it.

The kicker was it was a Carribean Literature class, so there was like 12 black people and two whites me and my friend. And he was not there that day. So it was like me confessing to 12 blacks, including the teacher! It began with a discussion on racism. But hey, I had to listen to them talk about how they sometimes just hate white people, and I was like, "hello, I am sitting right here". It was a great class though.

You know what is funny is that African Lit class I talked about. If I did not agree with teacher or story about racism against blacks, I got a B on my paper. But when I agreed and sympathized with the black struggle, or said something was racist against blacks, I got A's. I ended up just telling the teacher and class what they wanted to hear in the end to get A's. Same shit happened with my white friend. "Reverse racism?"
