I used a compact digital camera, Canon PowerShot SD870 IS (or IXY in some countries).

It has a bit wider angle lens than most compact point and shoot digitals. You can be up and close and still get a bunch of stuff in the shot.

There were no restrictions on small cameras, only a sign outside saying " No Pro Cameras".
