Watching this always leaves me grinning like an idiot. I dunno why, it just does... I think it's the epic display of all the characters, the starry background, and the all but godly music... Ranma 1/2, you were my first anime, and I will NEVER forget you. Good luck you guys; we may never see your new adventures, but I have a feeling that just because Takashi put this series to rest doesn't mean it's the end for you all... :)

I mean, Akane has always been so discrete (Shampoo has been naked in front of Ranma, for example), why are they in a very intimate way? What do you all think? Is the Ova ending trying to say that this would happen once they get married at last?

@anyicitag Hm... thats a good question. And I think its true that Akane and Ranma have both stumbled upon each other on accident while they were both naked. I was going to say "Its because its night time", but maybe there is some sort of other meaning behind it. My interpretation of it is that perhaps seeing each other in their most relaxed state (in comfortable pajamas at night) might symbolize a more venerable side to both of them. ...If that makes sense.

I would have love to at least seen the series end with ranma and akane actually confessing their feelings for each other. I know in the manga ranma confesses his love for her, but then he refuses to admit to it, and they leave it open to if they get married or not.

I feel the same way. And Ranma isn't even nostalgic for me, I never watched it as a child or when I was younger. I just got into it and already that melancholy feeling is washed over me, especially with this song. But I can really feel it with Inuyasha, that's the first anime I ever got into.

The parts of the series that remained true to its Japanese culture like this song were totally classic and without equal. The first season was like sixties Japan. Then they thought would make it more western and they ruined it. Several of the OVAs started to recapture that essence as in this song, but to late to save the show. The last show was FIVE STARS and a total tear jerker. If only they learned earlier.

It makes me wish i was back there in the library, with one of the first manga books ive ever read. That was Ranma 1/2. Because the anime ended early in 1992 because of internal conflicts with the anime company Kitty Animations and plus the manga caught up with the manga. I know Inuyasha is starting up with this week with the anime company Sunrise running it. I do know who has the rights to Ranma 1/2 but ultimately its up to Rumiko to say yes and an anime company to publish it.
